The only good thing about this hotel is its location. The entire building smell mold and rooms are inconveniently small. There's shop on the 7th street which our room faced that played cheesy club music until early in the morning. The hotel management didn't care about this so we had to ask the shop owner to turn it down every night during our stay. The staff hardly knows any English so we had to repeat our orders.

George checked us in, he is very accommodating and helpful. An easy person to deal with, great energy all the time, and always welcoming. Thanks for making our week stay a home away from home.

Continental breakfast is amazing, every morning the Croissant and Madeleine are baked fresh. George makes the best coffee and espresso. The morning breakfasts staff are all amazing.

Very clean hotel because the cleaning staff are also very kind and helpful. Everyone seems to be happy working here which makes the energy of this hotel very pleasant.

Ive had breakfast lunch and dinner here, all those times food has been more than satisfying and tasty.

Great location close to everything but far enough from the hectic parts of ocean. Cvs around the corner and Walgreens. Walking distance to laundry and Collins street shopping behind the hotel.

The hotel is under renovation but they’ve made it really workout for everyone and still very pretty out in the front dining area. Overall the staff is amazing which makes this hotel very pleasant and cozy!

Been coming to south beach for a while the avalon by far has been the best. The staff are amazing, bar, restaurant rooms amazing very clean. Not your typical south beach hotel, staff really make you feel like you're very special, they go above and beyond, we'll be back!!!! Loved it.

Avalon is an Art Deco hotel on Ocean drive so just cross the road to the beach. It was being refurbished while we were there, hence my 4 star ranking. I would recommend it to anyone who loves period boutique hotels

Good location on Ocean Drive. The man at the front counter made sure to take care of us and that we were happy. Happen to go on a holiday weekend. Therefore Ocean Drive was closed which didnt allow us direct access to enter hotel, we had to drive around a bit, got detoured, were treated badly by the Valet they had set up for the hotel yet upon arrival they treated us very well and without complaint they made sure to take care of us. Unfortunately, because of the location on Ocean Drive you will hear lots of music/loud partyers etc so don't plan to necessarily sleep early and in silence.

Great little hotel across from beach. It wasnt fancy but it was clean and relatively quiet for being on the strip in South Beach. We were provided beach chairs and towels for the beach and it was within walking distance to most places we wanted to go. We would come back.

The hotel is exactly what I was looking for in south beach. It's clean, quaint, with all the essentials. The rooms aren't huge, sound does travel a bit here but I had no problems.

The key to remember with this hotel is that your getting a great place to sleep in the middle of south beach and they are cheaper than other hotels in the area. The hotel is walking distance to everything you need. The location of the hotel trumps any minor complaints that others have posted on here.

I would definitely stay here the next time my travels bring me to Miami.

I had the worst experience ever from the night manager that was on duty over the weekend. I went to address my concerns and to check out early because my room had a awful smell and I was so uncomfortable from all the noise in the hallway. Asked to speak to the manager on duty and was asked by the night clerk why and I told him to address my issues and his response was, he's not going to do anything about it. This man was so RUDE AND UN PROFESSIONAL. He refused to give me a copy of my receipt to show I was checking out and yelled at me to get it from Priceline because that is who I had paid and the Hotel hasn't been paid from Priceline yet. I felt helpless and couldn't believe I was being treated so badly.I tried to reach out to the General manager but never received a call back. This should never happen to customers.

The hotel was very clean and quaint. Being across the street from the beach is very convenient. It stays loud until about 3 in the morning so if you are sensitive to sound this isn't the place for you but it is right in the middle of the action. The staff has all been very nice as well.

You could have better lodging at a red roof. The only nice thing is location. Small and old is usually not an issue, but this place just sucks! The beds are not just firm, but like a rock bed and the view was a crappy building behind. Also, I could smell cigarette smoke all through the hall on my floor. The hotel also smells musty and I feel like the building will collapse at any point. Also, the pictures are misleading. The hotel isn't even close to as nice as it may appear. It old, ugly and needs some serious TLC.
