Nice location in South Beach Miami! The solarium is a relaxing spot that overlooks Pennsylvania Ave. The shops beneath are great. This hotel is in such a sweet spot. Close to the beach and friendly staff.

Very nice hotel with a GREAT LOCATION!! Just two blocks away from the beach. Nice rooms as well. They have a balcony area where you can hang out and see Washington avenue. Recommended

I've been to Miami several times and like to try new places to stay. Royal Hotel was a decent little spot. It's not at all fancy, but the staff was friendly. The evening staff person (Michelle) even had a handy map to help you make wise choices about where to go and where not to go in the city. Miguel was nice too.
The cleaning staff was also nice although the housekeeper sheds her hair a lot. I kept finding long black hair all over the room, bathroom, towels and the linen.
The location was great however and as I believe "you get what you pay for" I haven't seen too many better deals in South Beach.

    It's all about location.
This classic Deco hotel is two blocks from Lummus Park and the beach, all the action on Ocean Ave and plenty of the best Local cafes and restaurants. The staff are very attentive and helpful . Beach chairs, umbrellas and towels are available free from the desk. That said it is what would be called a 2 star hotel in Europe- basic clean place to sleep. Fair warning there IS street noise here- late into the night.

The location here is perfect. The hotel is nice enough but what made our stay perfect was the receptionist Miguel. He was amazing for giving us information, having a laugh and just making the place feel like home. Thanks Miguel!!!

    Positives:
    Room looked cute
    A/C worked well
    Front seat people were amazing
    Negatives:
    Disgustingly dirty shower
    Dusty floors
    Dirty linens and towels
    Duvet smelled gross

This hotel was the grossest place I have ever stayed at. The hallways smelled musty. The towels were stained and smelled like they hadn't been washed in a month. The windows need to be replaced because they were so cloudy that you could barely see out of them. The valet service that they used was the worst; they brought us the wrong car and we waited 45 minutes for our car, causing us to miss our lunch reservation. The guy at the front desk called the valet for us 3 times, so that was nice. The only reason this place gets one star is because of the front desk people, the hospitality of the one woman in housekeeping, and the central location, otherwise I would give it zero stars. Save up some more money and opt for a Marriott.
