Fantastic location. We stayed in the basic room with 2x double beds. The hotel is clean and the staff are very friendly. Room is basic for the price but overall it’s nice enough and I would recommend this place. You can opt out of housekeeping and then be given $20 off hotel incidentals each day you opt out for your stay. We did this and used the money to order some cocktails - however, I don’t recommend the cocktails at all they all tasted the same - very boring basic flavours and barely any alcohol at all in them.
In a very convenient location right near the water and parks as well as a short walk from town centre and many nice restaurants and bars. The hotel and room/bathrooms are a little dated and run down but not to the point where it becomes an issue. I had a room on the ground level facing the street and it was quite loud with traffic and pedestrian noise - especially on Friday and Saturday night. Don’t stay in that part of the hotel if you’re a light sleeper or planning on an early evening. Overall a nice stay however if I was visiting Queenstown soon I would probably prefer to stay in one of the newer, more modern hotels.
The location of the hotel is great, but the overall property is nothing more than a motel room. The carpet is run down.the rooms are dingy. There is no space in the room to comfortably put your bags n open them. The AC wasn't cooling. The very basic you expect from a hotel is water ( if not complimentary atleast paid), there was no water for the room
It looks awesome from outside but once you get into your room the dream breaks into pieces.
Very old school rooms, not updated. You never get any lake view, no matter which room you take, as trees will block the view.
The carpet is so dirty that my wife had faced allergy and had to take medicine.
bathroom was horrible too.
The beds were really uncomfortable and the size of the room was hell lot of small.
If you have a kid don’t even think about it.
Its an old Hotel which had been modified a little with less effort.
The location is fantastic and staffs are friendly and helpful.
Perfectly located , rooms are fine and the service usually exemplary. One staff member forgot to do something hence one star lower. However the mistake was corrected by the manager just a little late. Have tried several hotels in Queenstown but Novotel is by far the best , especially for location.
Very clean hotel and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. My room was made up every morning and everything neat and tidy.
A very big thank you to the guys at the bar as they went above and beyond helping the customer. A special mention to Simone and Alessandro - A GRADE customer service!
The staff at the front reception very polite and understanding.
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
Keep up the great work!
We had a lovely time staying at the Novotel. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was roomy and comfortable. The location is excellent as it is a short stroll to the lake and town. There was nothing that we had trouble with or didn't like. Thank you for a wonderful stay and we hope to visit again one day.
This is the second time I have stayed at the Novotel Lakeside and we upgraded to a lakeside room which I would definitely recommend. We were walking distance to everything and easy access for carparking as well with our car. Staff were all friendly, helpful and customer service from all levels was superb. You can't beat the location, I would definitely return!
I could not fault my stay at Novotel Queenstown. I had a lovely second floor room with a little balcony looking out at blossom trees. It was great to be able to open a window at night. The room was clean with everything I needed. The lobby was inviting and comfortable. The staff were super helpful. I would definitely stay there again.
Good location. Staff and breakfast were great too. Room was clean however it was really noisy at night. You can hear people talking and elevator noise as well. I would highly recommend that you ask for a room away from the elevator. People come in all throughout the night and the noise will easily wake you up.
I thought that the hotel was very nice, I had a little different experience because I stayed in 3 different rooms in 9 days because I moved into a friend's room who was leaving early and I needed to book an additional stay which meant moving again. Each room had a different vibe due to some that were more modernized than others.
Some needed more upgrades than others and you honestly wouldn't know that until you get in there. Pricing wise, the hotel was a bit high for a non-peak time of year.
The staff was REALLY NICE at the front desk and at the experiences desk.
This was our second stay and we thoroughly enjoyed it again. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms have everything you need. Hotel has great facilities. We usually only stay for 2 nights and the hotel is centrally located so walking around Queenstown is easy and convenient.
The first night there was a bathroom fan on all night - keeping me awake. This then was fixed or disconnected after I raised the concern.
It was overall a fine stay, and yes I would stay there again, but not sure if its the location or the hotel that influences that decision. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful, however, I would suggest that your concierges need to make a greater impact. I spent many times looking at the brochures for ideas of what to perhaps do, and your people ignored me. We ended up completing all of our booking elsewhere with more friendly approachable people. Recently in Auckland, I stayed elsewhere, and their concierge was amazing, and you would simply exit the elevator and he would try and make eye contact to see if there was anything he could assist with.
5 star for location so perfect and really close to town. Public areas looking tired and in need of a spruce up. Rooms modern, clean, tidy and well kept but could do with an update. Had to move bedside out of way to find any power points to charge phones/laptops near beds. Views from lakefront room was stunning. Had a butter chicken in their restaurant, served warm not hot, could definately do better.
Hotel was great and in good location. Staff were fantastic. Breakfast was disappointing though. There was hair in the fruit salad and the scrambled eggs weren't nice. But service excellent.
Room was comfortable & the location of the hotel is the best in my opinion as it's right on the lakefront. The only negative thing was that housekeeping didn't change our sheets although we did not choose to put the "Eco-Friendly No New Sheets Necessary" card on the bed (and we were there for many nights). The housekeeping department needs to review this SOP. There's no point giving the guest an option if the hotel is not going to heed to our requests.
Friendly accommodating staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Fantastic location. Room was good, only got a smaller room due to our last minute booking but it was well maintained. Will definitely return.
Had a brilliant experience thank you to the lovely staff. From the restaurant, bar staff and reception you were amazing and accomodating for our young children.. superb location for all age groups.. thank you again.. special mention to Stephanie for being my daughters favourite person throughout our holiday 😊
Wonderful experience. We stayed for three nights initially with a mountain view, then hiked the Milford track, them stayed for one more night after that. They were happy to hold all our luggage during our four day hike, and when we came back afterwards they already had our luggage in our roomand they had upgraded us to a corner suite, free of charge! Excellent service all around. Do be aware that the "lake view" rooms do not have unobstructed view of the lakethere are trees in the way. Still an excellent and relaxing experience, however.
