This is a nice hotel, offering wonderful views over Lake Wakatipu. Our rooms was spacious and updated, with a small balcony to step out to enjoy the views. The restaurant/bar area had similar views, with a great, complimentary breakfast offering and a very attentive staff. It's located a short walk from the City center, but be warned, similar to just about everywhere else in NZ, you'll need to walk up a steep hill on your return. The small laundry, just down the hall from the equally small gym, was very convenient.

Enjoyed my 3 night stay here. Room with balcony & fantastic view, clean, comfy bed, quite spacious for 2 and excellent daily breakfast. Close to the wharf, shops and restaurants, short but steep hill for the walk back. Good despite staff shortages.

Good location on edge of the town. For the price we expected more. Rooms are good, not 5 star level. Careful if you have a lakeside suite. Not all actually have a view of the water. No AC in rooms but can request a fan. Maid service seems understaffed. Some days they wouldn't turn down or we'd need to specifically track someone down to do it. Generally seemed understaffed throughout hotel. Very mediocre cleaning when they did. Queenstown is great, this accommodation is not the best value.

Summary: This hotel is in a great location - walking distance to the city center (though it’s on a steep hill, fyi). Other than this, our stay here was rough, completely as a result of poor communication from all functions within the hotel. Would recommend staying at other hotels in the same area.

Details: The most frustrating part was that the hotel was replacing carpets during our stay and we were not notified of it at all. The entire floor we were staying on smelled like paint remover for the duration of our stay. The restaurant was getting carpets replaced and there were nails sticking out from the floor! With no blocking off of the area! It was nuts. They did comp us for parking because of this inconvenience… after I mentioned this as feedback at checkout.

Last but not least, the restaurant staffer made a mistake writing down our room number for breakfast & when we clarified at checkout, she came out yelling at us, and telling us we were “accusing her of lying.” Just, wild. Definitely not 5-star service / communication.

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon trip and loved the experience! They helped us book a last minute room as we had to move from another unclean place and they were very accomodating. The hotel is right next to town but still quiet and has beautiful views of the lakeside. Highly recommend!

Nice rooms, and they do offer a free beat the hill taxi ride from town, but the hill can be too much if you are traveling with older people. Breakfast is nice, and great view. Walls are kinda thin, and you can hear water running from nearby bathrooms.

The staff and overall level of customer service was sensational. The location was also top notch with great views of the mountains and lake. Have already recommended to friends and would absolutely stay again on my next visit to Queenstown. Many thanks!

The staff were exceptional in their service and care. The surrounding luxurious. Overall it was very good.
We were a bit disappointed with the Hot Tub as I guess expected more.
We also had to shift rooms during our visit which was a bit of a nuisance and we went from a beautiful room to a smaller less luxurious room with a small view. We would have preferred to have stayed in the bigger room however were not given the option.

I had room 536, and everything was great. The suite was spacious and there was no noise from the street.
My family also dined at Lombardi's and had the 2 course special with wine, which was great. My steak was cooked perfectly. My son enjoyed his selection from the kids menu.
We liked the amenities in the public areas - the log fire, the availability of water and cider to guests.
Valet parking was handy, especially as street parking in Queenstown would have been hard to find and it was time limited anyway.

There was only one minor issue and that was the bathroom was only partly serviced on 26/9. All the towels were replaced and the bathroom cleaned but the toiletries were not replaced, however that's only a minor issue and did not prevent us having an enjoyable stay.

Warm service from start to finish. A classy hotel with delightful rooms and excellent amenities. The bar tapas menu was excellent and breakfast options varied and extensive. The room had great amenities, and the unique bath robes were superb. Views from lake-view rooms stunning.

Well situated, clean and tidy room. Great size bathroom with a good shower. Always a plus. Staff were friendly and attentive. Only let down was the bed. Thought it was past its use by date as very lumpy.
Food was fabulous, no need to go down town for dinning.

Staying at the St Mortiz was like walking into paradise. We were upgraded to a one bedroom studio and the interior decor was stunning. The bar had great deals on cocktails and the service was fantastic. I will definitely be back and almost wish I could live here! Definitely one of the "most pretty" hotels I have stayed at in all of New Zealand. 5*

A great way to unwind and enjoy all that Queenstown has to offer. The high points are the location, and most importantly the staff. All of the staff were unfailing in offering an exemplary and very welcoming service. Some seemed to go above and beyond and these individuals left a lasting impression which made us want to return. The pianist, Mark, who played in the library at dinner made a deep impression with a wide range of exquisite musical renditions which were both inspiring and moving. This definitely suited the location of Queenstown.

The rooms, the service, the amenities were perfect. The staff is your best asset. Housekeeping are so thoughtful and accommodating. The kids are asking to come back to see their new 'best friend' Nicholas in the dining room. Thank you for an amazing experience. 1 tiny critique- a 5 star hotel should include toothbrushes and loofahs as standard in all rooms. We actually purchased our own while we were staying. Otherwise, brilliant. This was our second stay, and I daresay won't be out last.

Your hotel is a home away from home and has a great location. Unfortunately, the Alpine Suite 606 had no lake view which was probably why we got a good price but we disliked the humming noise of the aircon exhaust outside of our bedroom window (2 floors down), the choice of radio channels was limited too and it was disappointing that the room-service did not manage to have the rooms made by 3pm as we were out from 9am to 3pm and would have welcomed the idea to have the room nice and tidy looking upon our return. The first day I rang room service to ask how room service works at your hotel and she was very polite and advised that they were running late but would send someone in 10 minutes which we declined as we wanted to rest but agreed that she would send someone earlier the next day which did not happen probably because you are short staffed and it is impossible for your team to go through all the rooms in time.

Beautiful hotel. Excellent service. Well mannered and helpful staff. And I love the mattress. It's like someone is cradling you all night. From where can I get a mattress like theirs?

We didn't like our original rooms up in the attic facing the parking. They were nice enough to change our rooms to lake view, but only for our first two nights. The third night we had to move back to the attic room. Needless to say we moved to a different hotel for the 3rd night. The buffet breakfast was nice, so was the dinner at the Lombardy restaurant.
