We had an excellent stay for 2 nights.

The team members are approachable. It’s the same person who will welcome you at the reception, driving the shuttle, fixing coffee at the reception.
Special shout out to Austin who shown us to the room despite of being super busy manning the front desk.

We would like to say a big thank you to Lauren too who went the extra mile to drive us to take quick snap shots of the scenery when we took the shuttle to the town centre. #exceptionalservice!

The rooms are neat and amenities and furnishings are well maintained. Kudos to the housekeeping team!

True south dining served an excellent menu too! Fresh and tasty food.

A truly relaxing trip and this hotel is convenient to get to town centre too with the shuttle service! 👍🏻

Thank you Rees Team for making our stay in Queenstown memorable and exceptional!

The hotel is clean and has great views, but it’s a regular 3-4* hotel, not a 5*. No bathtub, no pool, no spa, the room furniture is very basic, blinds do not block the light so no proper rest. There is no feeling of exclusivity - they charge for the water in the room, the breakfast was nice but they charge for a proper coffee which I found very cheap. We asked about activities and they pretty much told us to check online. There is a shuttle service to town just once an hour that fills quickly, I wonder why a 5* hotel can’t have more frequent trips. If you are looking for something practical, it’s a good place, but it’s not a high end hotel.

Luxury hotel with fantastic views of the lake. Spacious room with balcony to watch the stars at night and enjoy the lake view during the day. The jacuzzi bathtub is a plus. Appreciate the little block of broken chocolate given every evening as a sweet. ☺️

The restaurant was nice as well - expect fine dining (quality and portions) and a menu that is limited to several choices only.

Service is much better than expected given expectations of labour shortages in QT and NZ generally - Better than most we have experienced in NZ (incl 5 star hotels in Auckland). Hotel rooms are clean. Staff are generally friendly, well groomed and helpful. Great hotel if your budget permits.

If you are contemplating other hotels in Queenstown, do consider the Rees. It really is a cut above in so many ways. They do have a hotel shuttle to take you to and from the town but it's nice being just that little bit out of town. Beautiful unobstructed lake views, excellent service, fabulous food and the room is exceptional. I stayed for 3 nights in a lake view hotel room which was delightful. I can only imagine how other rooms are. The bed was amazing, bathroom was perfect with quality toiletries and amenities. I enjoyed every moment I spent at the Rees - in the beautiful lobby bar, the restaurant, walking along the lake, and in my room. It was classy & sublime!

We absolutely loved our stay at The Rees, and cannot wait to return next winter! The staff were all so friendly and helpful, right from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. From front of house, restaurant, bar, concierge services - everyone was excellent. Special mention to Gabriel - for whom nothing was too much trouble.

Our room was lovely - with every little detail thought of. Gorgeous food and drinks in the mini bar, beautiful products in the bathroom, as well as super comfortable beds and a view I could not believe - it was so magnificent.

The food at breakfast was delicious, and we loved our pre dinner drink and cheese board every night in the lounge area, watching the light fade over the lake.

The shuttle into town every hour was also such a help.

Thank you for a wonderful stay - we will be back,

Me and my wife had an amazing experience here at the rees. Amazing view from the balcony, rooms were lovely, and allot of great facilities.

The staff were also very friendly and supportive, they went out of there way to recommend some nice places for us to visit. Felt very welcomed.

    Highly recommended!

Lovely hotel with an amazing view of the lake. These r constructed like condos and each pair of condos share a common hallway. Buffet Breakfast is top notch - I do recommend their eggs Benedict with salmon and spinach. Mine was included in the price. You are about 5 Min from downtown Queenstown which they provide a hourly shuttle to. U must reserve ahead of time - but they will do a 2nd run for u if overcrowded. Each unit has a full glass view of the water - and u can exit to the back trail but only from a certain floor. The laundry is free - and I hope they keep that way. The machines r new - and even the detergent is provided. Negatives ? Perhaps the one bedroom units need a desk as I had to resort to my lap to do any laptop use.

I am delighted to say that my partner and I stayed in the Lakeview room. The room was no less then amazing, it was clean new and very comfortable. But that was just a small bonus to a great stay as the staff was the real winner. We were always greeted with a friendly smile great manners and well presented people. Thankyou so much for making our experience in Queenstown one to never forget 😊

Concierge was wonderful to work with - set up spa and heli skiing. Rooms are beautiful - view of the lake is fab. Shuttle service to town super convenient. Only complaint is restaurant/food options. Eat in town instead.

Lovely room. Heated floors. Unfortunately jets in the spa bath were not working and our Daughter was so looking forward to using the jacuzzi bath. We were not offered a discount or complimentary anything. Buffet breakfast was good. Friendly staff. But we got charged double although only one of us used the buffet. Left sour taste in our mouths. Otherwise would have been a great experience.

This hotel was absolutely beautiful. Our stay was perfect and the staff were helpful. Although not cheap, it was worth every penny and we had a fantastic time. Also a little further from the immediate town area however the convenient shuttles made everything a breeze. Highly recommend staying at this hotel.

    Fantastic place for holidaying.
Family friendly. Beautiful well-insulated rooms. Top class staff, and incredible views of the lake and mountains. A nice walking/cycling track which takes you around the lake. Free shuttle bus to town.

Nice place to stay and pretty close to town. Has more of an apartment feel then a hotel.

This Rees will not leave you disappointed in any way.

The hotel has a combination of beautiful mountain and lakeside views.

Our apartment was very clean with great kitchen and bathroom amenities. We had a gorgeous gas Fireplace heater and a large balcony to take in the scenery.

The staff are extremely accommodating, friendly and always go the extra mile.

    Excellent service and wonderful experience.

Thank you for making our honeymoon everything we wished for and more.

We will be back to stay with The Rees again!

Location is good and bad - not close to town and the shuttle buses are usually full so expect to taxi. But the views across Frankton Arm and the Remarkables are stunning. It's also a good spot for sunrises, which is lucky given the early wake up you'll get.

If you are visiting soon - be warned (and they won't actually disclose this until you've booked) - there is a construction site right below the property that starts 8am on the dot with a concrete mixer and has loud music and construction noise until about 5pm Mon-Fri. It was literally about 8m from our balcony and made sitting on the balcony unpleasant while they were working. It also meant we got an early wake up call every day as they started to arrive on site from around 7:30am.
Staff are friendly, but largely ineffective. When requested to book a taxi for us, they simply forgot - meaning we were 20 mins late for a dinner reservation. Room service was a farce - eggs on toast arrived without toast. Then we got one serve a bit later. But no butter.
To their credit, management waived the charges for the breakfast and addressed a few other issues - such as the leaking shower and bathroom door that wouldn't close - and also gave us a box of Patagonia (local) chocolates.
But to be honest, I'd rather they just get it right. It wasn't like we were asking for anything outside of absolutely standard service. It's not a cheap hotel and there really isn't any excuse for repeated basic service failures. My list of apologies from The Rees was quite long by the time we left.

Having grown up in Queenstown and coming back regularly to visit, I unfortunately won't be coming back to The Rees, nor would I openly recommend it based on our experience. Back to Crowne Plaza, Sofitel or The Spire next time for us sorry.

Spent three nights at Rees during our Honeymoon last year. Staff was great, room was nice, view was awesome.

Distance to town (not that far but not something I would want to walk more than once) was offset by the hourly shuttle bus provided by Rees. Room choice is a bit confusing when booking, but we really loved this place. Would recommend.
