Did what it said on the tin.
Basic accommodation, good standard of decor, very clean everywhere inside the apartment including bathroom.
Good location.
At the end of the day "How long do you spend inside the room"

My family chose this hotel due to the location and not so bad reviews on Tripadvisor. We arrived and Sue was at reception. Sue is very pleasant and happy, a typical Kiwi.
We booked a 2 bedroom apartment and it was just right for us. As mentioned in other reviews, it is dated but clean all the same.
Heating is good and was required during our stay. Good water pressure for shower.
Beds are comfortable and clean and are made daily by staff.
Wifi not great and the 1 GB seemed to go fast. We did get additional and when checking out Sue was kind enough to not charge us for any additional.
Great location with good views and just 2 minutes to city.
Very quiet and we all slept well with no disturbances.
We had room 5. Good views from both bedrooms.

Shame on you Amber Lodge, to charge guests when they did not stay ,refund the money as it will be bad publicity for New Zealand.

Customer service extremely poor. We did not check in to the motel and the amount for the stay was debited to credit card.
Booking.com cleared and cancelled the booking and did not charge a cancellation fee, they mentioned it was up to Amber lodge to refund as we did not stay there and Amber lodge refused.The owner was rude and said she 'doesnt care'.response / report this review
