When we tried to call to let them know our flight was canceled so we will arrive a day later than expected, it was hard to get a hold of them on the phone because all the phone numbers we could find were disconnected as in they were not in service. Other than that it was a good hostel. Very big and nice. There is a bar and restaurant down stairs but the bar is only open for about 2 hours I believe so we never went there. Clean rooms, big space, they don't crowd too many beds in one room. Very nice place.
The place is very good to stay ,located in a quiet and nice neighborhood, there are plenties of shops and supermarkets around, most of them work on Sundays and till 22-23 o'clock. Around 4 km and 30-40 min walk from city center, you can also rent a bike there. Stuff is very friendly, hostel has a bar, canteen, cafeteria with coffee and snacks, rooms are big, shower and toilet inside, cleaning every day, beds are new and comfortable, also very quiet, you can sleep tight and won't hear any noise. Has lockers in each room, ask stuff for a key
I went with my boyfriend for 2 days to Amsterdam. We looked for a cheap sleeping place and found this amazing place. The receptionist were absolutely lovely and helped us a lot (with parking places and more). Our room was really clean and for this price pretty big.
The only thing is, that we had to pay more for towels, if we want to shower.
We had ac23h layover in Amsterdam and therefore booked our overnight stay with Stayokay. Check-in was super easy with friendly staff. It was the first time we ever stayed in a hostel and Stayokay facilities were very clean as well as their dorms. Additionally down a few blocks there was a street full of restaurants and around the corner was a bike rental store, so we didn't have to go far to find what we needed. One issue I had was the next morning we had to check out, the elevator was out of order, so we had to carry our luggage down 3 flights of stairs. However, overall I would recommend this hostel to others.
Had a great time staying here. Friendly helpful staff, printed my flight boarding pass. Very clean and tidy hotel. No trouble and no thieves. Nice atmosphere in hotel, they have a very nice bar area on the ground floor that I found very chilled and comfortable to be in.
Accommodation is great and rooms are good.
Buts it's quite expensive in weekends. Rest of all crowd is great and everything is safe.
A very decent hostel. Stayed in a dorm with friends. The room was spacious and clean, and there were power plugs and lights for each bed. The breakfast was good and the area is nice.
The hostel is very big, so are the rooms, which is great. However, this does have its downsides as it's not easy to meet people. The cafe is great for breakfast but the food in the restaurant is quite expensive. It's rather disappointing that a hostel would not have a kitchen for its guests (I did know this when booking), so make sure you consider this as well.
The rooms are really stuffy though, the windows don't open much and it gets really hot at night.
Wifi was not functional at all in the rooms, only in the lobby, and this was the case for everyone and during my entire stay. Location-wise, it's quite far east of downtown, it's at least a 15 minute cycle. Staff is great, very helpful.
Nice hostel, thought it is laid out more like a hotel than your usual youth hostel. The rooms can get exceptionally warm at night too, so fair warning if you're coming in summer! Haven't tried the food as I've unfortunately been very ill but the staff are very helpful and friendly. Had an issue with being given a non working key four times in a row before it was sorted. Not ideal lugging my bags up and down stairs when unwell after so long travelling but but their fault, just frustrating when all I wanted to do was sleep!
Friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast. Clean. No residents kitchen or drink making facilities. Coffee bar in day bar in the evening and drinks machine. Bikes for hire are large and heavy. Laundromat. Not as cheap as I would like but probably cheapest available. Evening meal but I didn't have it. Theatre and cinema on the other side of the building.
The rooms were clean and brilliant with private shower and toilet in each room. The staffs were friendly and helpful and the hostel has a comfy common area for people to hang out at ground floor. Definitely would recommend it.
Very good experience. Good location. The room is nice and it had its own bathroom. The hostel has bikes for rental and bus tickets, which is very helpful. On the other hand the heating doesn't work very well, so your room will be very cold. They also 'force you to buy towells, which is very weird.
The high ceilings and window make for a very spacious hostel room. Included breakfast was great and wasnt too limited although the choice was the same each day. Bike rentals were the best thing and I would highly recommend considering the 40+ minute walk the centre.
CAUTION!! BEWARE!! AVOID!
This great wonderful breakfast that everyone talks aboutummmmNO! By the way, they advertised on their web site that it was free, but we got charge $7 per adult and $3.50 for a very crappy breakfast, with "no" hot food! Basic and lousy as can be!
And then there is the wonderful construction with outside construction elevator that operates starting at "6am!" You would think they would wait longer to start construction, considering that they are working on a hotel! Don't think about sleeping in past 6am!
No food is allowed in any of the roomsthey want you to buy their food in their lobby restaurant; which is way way way overpriced!
The showers are a complete joke and the worse I have ever seen anywhere on the planetthey are a push button shower, like those sinks that you push down on the faucet and only get 5 seconds to wash your hands! Forget about towels, because you get NO towel in your hotel at all! They charge you € 4,50 per towel to rentwhat a joke! Also, if you want to do laundry, that will run you € 6 per load!
There is no soap of any kind in the room to wash your hands!
The staff is friendly and the location is descent. I would never never never stay here again!
Very nice hostel but I'd say it looks more like a hotel. Very clean. Nice bathroom in the dorm. Breakfast is included and is awesome. We even took a little bit to go and we never had to eat until the evening. Quite far from center but walkable in 45 min or take the public transport. There is no kitchen but at least the breakfast is worth it. It was quite expansive but you get what you pay for.
