They might be in the process of a remodel so I'll give the benefit of the doubt. That being said, the lobby, restaurant and bar were very accommodating and well appointed. The rooms, not so much.

Lobby and public areas are nice, but rooms are outdated. Food is ok, but nothing special.

Comfortable, pleasant hotel, good wine list (!), lovely staff. The renovated rooms have lost some of their comfort, regrettably - lighting less nice and an armchair that looks great but is uncomfortable to sit in. New bathrooms are an improvement, though the make-up mirror is no longer lit, so useless. I book the old rooms which are cosier and more comfortable. The one huge down-side for me are the mattresses which are rock hard. Will suit some, I'm sure, but I never get a good night's sleep. Drains seem very smelly lately. I stay there because my family live practically around the corner, and because of memories of the old Jan Tabak where we used to go to dinner with my grandparents and the entire family on birthdays etc.

Newly refurbished, quiet location, but is near to centre. Has UK electric socket. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Very nice local hotel with restaurant, that caters to local businesses, clubs and residents. After the renovation this year it looks splendid and has a bright shine about it, well done!

Great location for a visit to Amsterdam, clean rooms and great staff at the reception. Could use a bit of touching up here and there, but overall a great little place to stay
