We just completed a one week stay at the nH hotel Doelen in Amsterdam and had a wonderful experience!! From the first day, as we were welcomed by managers Marije and Natasha, on through the remainder of the week, we received exceptionally kind and courteous service at this beautiful historic hotel. Guido, at the front door, took the time to give me a short history of Amsterdam, and Gillian, at the concierge desk took the time to inform us on music, restaurants and such. The hotel’s location is magnificent! Our rooms looked directly out onto the canals, streets and bridges that make this city unique in the world. There were a great number of restaurants, museum’s and shops of every kind within an easy walk of us. I stay in many hotels being a frequent traveler and the rooms we occupied were clean, and well appointed. The bathroom was modern with a great shower, the room had a coffee and tea selection and a small fridge with drinks etc. The bed was very comfortable. The nightlife goes all night long in Amsterdam but I slept with windows open to the fall air. If it got too noisy shutting them and turning on the AC did the trick. I am a huge breakfast fan, so I was down in the restaurant room, which has a front row seat to the canal at 7 am each morning. There was a very good selection of fruits, breads, meats and fish available. On my first morning I told the servers I was used to oatmeal and eggs each morning, and for the rest of the week they had it ready for me soon after I walked in! If you are looking to enjoy Amsterdam in the coming days, I recommend you check into the Hotel Doelen!

This hotel is amazing. Right in the heart of Amsterdam center. The staff was very friendly and even gave us some tips for parking our rental at a cheaper rate down the street. The price is a little steep but if you prepay you can save quite a bit. Overall, I very much enjoyed staying here and I would highly recommend it to my friends and family.

Beautiful hotel with the very best customer service. Every employee we had contact with was friendly and helpful and the location could not have been better! I knocked off 1 star only because of an air conditioning issue.

They were great! Simply mentioned at check-in that we were celebrating our honeymoon and the surprised us with a small bottle of champagne and brownies with berries. Great people!

Simply sublime experience at this NH Collection hotel. Service was superb from check in to check out, rooms are elegant, location could be no better, and views over the canal from our free upgrade were amazing. Thankyou for a great stay.

Phenomenally clean bathrooms! Staff go the extra mile (1.6km) to help guests, though there is little flexibility on pricing compared to some hotels. Very centrally situated for events such as the International Documentary Festival Amsterdam.

We stayed here for our honeymoon and got a free upgrade to a suite. The staff were very friendly and the room was really nice. I would highly recommend this hotel.
