Absolutely fantastic. Stayed here as part of my honeymoon. Excellent service, 5-10 minute walk from the city center, comfy beds, and gorgeous interior. And heated bathroom floors! I honestly felt like I had stumbled into high society without paying the full price. If you're staying in Amsterdam, this is the only option. Best hotel on our trip, easily.

Nice place. Desk personnel not so bright. Gave our limo and coffee to someone else for our trip to the airport. Won't stay there again.

Beautiful lobby with a wonderful library, bar and coffee bar.
You walk into the front desk, and to the right and left are sitting rooms full of gorgeous shelves full of books. They say they have over 4000 books ALL of which are signed by the authors who have stayed at the hotel. Signed or not, the area is really stunning.
The rooms are nice, but its worth noting that some are not attached (not inside the same building as the lobby). Almost like apartments a short way down the street adjacent to the lobby, which means they're private, quiet and each is unique. It's different than some hotels at which I've stayed, and it caught me by surprise, but it was really nice.
In fact, we reserved "The Apartment" it's not available online, so you may have to call you request it. It's exactly that. A canal view apartment with a king bed, kitchenette, mini bar, and full use of the hotel resources. It was awesome.
The staff is absolutely stellar. Amongst the best I've had the pleasure of staying with. They are everything one could expect, and beyond.
The food is excellent, both the room service and at the Brasserie Ambassade, the attached restaurant.
The bar serves excellent coffee - anything you could want. Coffee, espresso, cappuccino, etc.
The library, in which the bar is situated, is a beautiful room for a bite and a beer or cocktail from the same bar.
Bikes are available for rent at the hotel - for full or half day (17.5 Euro for a full day).
Lastly, the location is outstanding. It's in the city center, 5 minutes to museums, 5 minutes to Jordaan, 5 minutes to redlight, 5 minutes to Vondelpark, 5 minutes to the floating flower market, and maybe 7 minutes to Centraal.
It's in the middle of a wonderful area, and walking distance to anything else.
