No blankets. Loud at night. Miserable water pressure. Gross bathroom. All for 5x as much as an equivalent hostel. Avoid.
Prime non beach Locatioin, beautiful rooms, safe
Fantastic hotel in a perfect location. Super clean and quiet. The best staff ever and you can't beat the prices. I stayed 2 weeks in room 22 and 24. Highly recommended
Hotel Cielo is a gem in La Playa. I've been coming here for years and will keep coming. The staff, service, and restaurant are amazing - visiting here feels authentic, friendly, and warm. The location is within walking distance to everything. It is good for singles and families and the staff goes out of their way to make sure your stay is perfect!! (PS - Best Guac ever is in the restaurant - I swear!)
Top notch, authentic experience!! Beautifull and well maintained "boutique" style hotel. I loved the fact that there is a restaurant connected to the hotel and is run by the same owners who are there everyday interacting and caring for their guests!! Second to none hospitality! Stay away from the "corporate"' style larger hotels that lack culture and authenticity. Hotel Cielo is where you want to be. Book it. Don't hesitate!
Lovely hotel in a great location. Hotel staff is very helpful with anything you may need. Rooms are very comfortable and clean. They are nicely decorated as well. The rooftop has an amazing view of the ocean and Cozumel. Can't wait until my next visit
I love this hotel because of it's quaintness and location. How it can be so quiet right off.of the famous 5th Av is a mystery. I love the decoration (traditional Mexican) but the staff and service are the true jewels. I highly recommend for personal, family or business trips!
I found Hotel Cielo right away in my search for a special location in Playa del Carmen to spend our 4-year anniversary. After reading about it on the website, along with all the 4-5 star reviews, I thought it was too good to be true-- But I could not find one hotel that compared. Hotel Cielo is in an ideal location, just blocks from the beach. They have a restaurant and bar onsite that has been recognized in several publications. The registration system was very secure, user-friendly, up-to-date, and very quick. They responded promptly to every inquiry, and offered superb customer service. Hotel Cielo is a real treasure. You will not regret staying here!
The pics online are very deceiving. Better to go the the hotel and ask to look at the room so you can make a decision there. There are more hotels around the area. The room was smelly and I guess it was the mildew I saw in the bathroom. The view from the window was the back of a resturant with water tanks and I could see directly into the room opposite ours since the window was diagonally across. The curtains/blind did not cover the entire widow so I ended up putting a blanket over it :/ It was very close to the famous 5th Avenue, the beach, a lot of different restaurants, bars and different stores for shopping. The pillows were a bit smelly. OK for the price ($70 for 2) and if ur not gonna stay outside, just good for resting, showering and shopping around so I did stay for 1 night after airing out the room :)
Great week in a very acceptable hotel. We highly recommend
We stayed one night on Dec 23, 2016 and found it very nice. Price was right (around US200). Room was clean, quaint and attractive. Desk manager Alberto was very helpful and spoke excellent English.. The hotel is just off the main pedestrian experience (Avenida 5) and a bloc k from the beach. Avenida 5 is terrific with high end stores, simple kiosks and everything in between. Wonderful restaurants and bars. It runs for about ten blocks like this. The restaurant at the hotel is excellent with Mayan cuisine a specialty. Prices are very reasonable. Breakfast is delicious and hotel guests get a 50% discount for breakfast. We had a full breakfast for two for US10, total. The whole area is closed to autos and you need to find a parking lot nearby (closest is 2-3 short blocks away). Taxis are allowed in. The hotel online reservation confirmation contains parking information, including location of nearby parking lots.
Great stay comfortable rooms with excellent beds and pillows and the AC works wonderful. Remodeled with the Mexican look makes you feel like you are in Mexico. Great friendly staff and cleaners do a an awsome job. One block from beach and close to shopping and lots of good restaurants. We ate down stairs for breakfast every day it was the best start to the day. Beautiful roof top with ocean view super way to start the evening. Would defiantly stay here again!
Hotel Cielo, always improving their quality service , the concept and environment of the place it self, brings the feeling of "callejones" from colonial architecture.
The roof garden is one of my favorite views and the warm smile and friendship from the owners and staff, always makes us to come back every single year.
If you are looking to relax in a small hotel to get and idea how local people live with the Caribbean flavors.hotel Cielo always a good choice to stay!
Enjoy your trip and ask to Steven , for local community projects, social volunteer and other nice activities you could performance as you enjoy the beautiful sea.
