Very small resort everything close to access. Food not bed but not match variety of the food in the buffet. personal is nice only one thing I didn't like, everywhere you come is crowd. you have to catch place in the shadow,but security take your stuff away if you don't show up in1 hour this is the rules.so I thing it worth 4 stars not more.

Its a great spot steps away from the big beautiful beach which is kept clean. Would see workers constantly raking up seaweed. The staff were always very friendly so we felt very comfortable here. Not to large of a resort so getting around is easy. The food was good. The drinks can be a bit weak but when I wanted something stronger I would just ask for a double and they would make it for me no problem. The beds are a bit hard. The bathrooms could be a bit cleaner. The But all in all I would definantly reccomend this resort and would come back. Had a great time!

Love the all inclusive. ..visit the Italian restaurant! Buffet is awesome here. Staff is fabulous. At first didn't want garden view but was close to everything and wound up enjoying.

Food at the restaurants was really good, but not so much at the cafeteria! Drinks were all right, nothing special. There is only one pool which is a downside, but in the morning and afternoon it's not too busy! The shows at night aren't the greatest, mostly only enjoyable if you're a kid. I would say you get what you pay for, but even then I think you could find better for a "4 star" resort!

Simple and small all inclusive resort in the Playacar area. The 3 on-site restaurants we tried were really good, however the daily buffet was uninspired, and after trying the same offerings as were found in the restaurants definitely not of the same quality. It was a small buffet with only minor variations in the daily food choices, so if you're a fussy eater that like variety you might have issues finding food to eat. The drinks from the bars were not watered down although many of them had a lot of sugar and syrups in them and not enough real juice. But they were friendly and made variations as per your request. This resort catered to a group of about 500 people and those i met were mostly from South America and Western Europe, with a few groups from Canada. The workers mostly spoke basic English, Italian, and German, as well as Spanish, but anything too complex could be difficult to convey and they mostly stuck with Spanish with other languages thrown in to get their points across based on who they were interacting with. The rooms were clean and comfortable with A.C. and lots of light. You had to pay $2 US for the safe and you only got 3 complimentary bottles of soda and one of water in the fridge on your first day. With mostly non-potable water in the rooms we resorted to bringing cups of water to the rooms to refill our bottles. The nightly performance started at 930pm and was put on by the hotel's animation crew who also did the daily activities. While they were entertaining they were amateurs so don't expect anything fancy.

Staff is attentive, the shows are fun, and the resort is small enough to easily get to your room if you need to without a long walk.

I would say this Mexican resort is above average, 3.5 out of 5. Like most all inclusive Mexican resorts, the food lacks variety and taste. Clean resort with friendly staff. Thank you.

It's a good resort overall. The location is just perfect, right on the beach with lots to do. The food was ok, at best. There are restaurants that require reservations with better food but you cannot eat there every night. Not sure what the rules are (not public info for some reason) but I think you can reserve dinners only about half of your nights. The employees are all very friendly. The rooms are fairly spacious but the decor is a bit dated.

Service is great, very attentive. Reservation restaurants very nice. I'm not a fan of the "buffet" , but EVERYTHING imaginable is available to eat and the staff never seems to resent you for the priviledge. Lots of loungers on the beach, very few by the pool (which, unfortunately is just too hot), but the sea is lovely. I would love to have a couple small touches like washcloths, but honestly, a very nice place.

The resort itself is really nice, right by the beach with a 24 hour snack bar and pool. Great views and activities, but the gift shop is expensive so bring your own sunscreen and shampoo. Workers and staff are really friendly and interactive. Would recommend checking out the shows at night. The rooms are more or less okay. You get what you pay for. It could have been a bit cleaner. I ended up getting bug bites and coming home with even more bug bites. And the sheets are thin and scratchy. All in all the resort is pretty nice but the hotel could be better.

Definitely the best bang for the buck for an all inclusive resort. Amazingly beautiful beach, clean beautiful resort,extremely friendly staff, and all the food and drinks you can get your hands on(the food was great, ton of variety).Lots of activities for all ages. Staff goes above and beyond to make your stay there perfect. Also a kids club you can drop your kid(s) off to do activities with their staff (who were excellent with kids).My expectations weren't that high, but I plan on going back as many times as possible. Stayed there 2/6/17-2/13/17. Service and employees were great. Bars were great. Beach was incredible. Only 1 mile to 5th Avenue for shopping and to get on ferry to Cozumel. Buffet had great variety and food was average. Went to the Mayan restaurant and that was very good. Wifi was terrible. Could access it in a few spots in the resort and then it was incredibly slow. We started using the hot spot on our phones which was better. (We had to work a fair amount on our computers and not having good internet was a big negative) Rooms weren't as nice as we expected. Beds were the hardest we've ever slept on. Rooms were very musty and gave my wife headaches. First 3 nights we were lucky and didn't have neighbors. 4th night got neighbors and walls were very thin (maybe noisy because of door adjoining rooms). Surprisingly there wasn't a swim-up bar. Were able to walk to their other resort (1/4 mile away) and eat and drink there. We went there one day for lunch. It was much more modern and updated. We went down a hallway and looked at rooms seeing as they were being cleaned and rooms looked much nicer and more modern. It wasn't a bad experience at Azteca, just not as nice as we expected. The next time we go we will stay at the other resort. Again, service was great and we had a blast!!!

This is a smaller place compared to most in this area. What it lacks in size it makes up everywhere else.
Buffet food was above average with a slight twist every day to try to keep one from getting tired of it. The dinner buffet had a different theme every night.
There are about a half a dozen restaurants between this place and it's sister property. One thing that we didn't like was that the a la carte restaurants are only available to guests a specific number of times based off how many nights one is staying. For ex - we stayed 7 nights and were permitted three meals. We were bothered by this because all of the travel sites advertise this as a all-inclusive site, but we ended up enjoying the dinner buffets which off set the restaurant situation.
The staff were all excellent! They treated everyone the same whether they were being tipped or not (at the various bars/restaurants).
The beach was flawless and we never had to worry about finding a spot to sit. The pool was decent for the size of resort. There was a Jacuzzi which was always cold. Otherwise we didn't have any complaints about the pool/beach area.
The Azteca property had many activities throughout the day but was much more quiet than their sister property The Maya; which was more lively and loud.response / report this review -
