This was a great place the staff was absolutely amazing and very helpful. We will be visiting again. The pool is wonderful they are kept very clean this is first hotel I have seen that clean the pool everyday the free breakfast is great and the free yoga classes are very relaxing this hotel is a must.

I would not visit this hotel again. We had four ladies in our group and the people here made us feel very unwelcome and were very uncompromising. We had a situation where we needed to add an extra person to our room and they refused even after we offered to pay for that person (even though their rooms were huge). Instead, they wanted us to book an entirely different room for 3 times the price and claimed it was the last room. They also demanded that we let them know in an hour. I know a hustle when I see it and this is what they tried to do to us on the first night, thinking that we are easy prey. We refused to be pressured by them. Luckily, we were able to find a different, separate place for our friend for a fraction of the price. However, I am disappointed in their lack of understanding for a group of ladies vacationing in a foreign country. Please understand that we don't want to leave anyone behind and offer us some options without trying to extort us.
In addition, after we refused to be hustled, they decided not to acknowledge us for the remainder of our 5 night trip. No one said 'Hola!' to us but I noticed they were saying it to the Hispanic or White people. If you're a group of Asians, stay away. I have a feeling they were a bit racist towards us.
This treatment continued during their free morning breakfast as well. We received similar lackluster service. The waitress never smiled at us, didn't offer any kind of greeting, had an attitude, and kept harassing us about having an extra person (when we were sitting down with three out of four people) which was definitely none of her business. Extremely rude.
On the plus side, there was one kind gentlemen but we only saw him there for one night. Their hot water also worked very quickly and the air condition worked wonderfully, albeit the room was a little old. The outside definitely looks a lot better than the inside.
In addition, their WiFi was terribly weak.
As of now, I would be hard pressed to stay here again after the behavior on their part.response / report this review -

It’s beautiful, serene, with an amazing outdoor tent for yoga classes that are offered based on donations!

Great quiet boutique hotel! Excellent staff, speaks English. Steps from 5th avenue shops and restaurants. A few blocks from beach. Clean. Lots of yoga classes, awesome food and drinks!

Great location in downtown Playa del Carmen. A few steps to fifth avenue but far enough that it's still quiet. Near bus stop and ferry to Cozumel. Rooms are clean and spacious. Service is fantastic including at the Mayan bistro which is part of the hotel. Included breakfast is nothing special but tasty. Four yoga classes everyday and a local market on Tuesdays.

Great place and location, the team is kind, the hotel is designed beautiful and full with trees and flowers, the food in the hotel restaurant is very good.

Good price, excellent staff. They helped us check in early and I believe our room got upgraded when ours wasn't yet available, even though we were early. Excellent breakfast service.

Great hotel, the staff is wonderful and it's around the corner from downtown Playa del Carmen and a couple of blocks from the beach! The front desk contacted a doctor that came to my room (asthmatic bronchitis) and he brought everything I needed.. steroids and antibiotics for a fair price. That saved my vacation as I had just arrived and had ten days left! I highly recommend Aventura Mexicana!

Beautiful boutique hotel. Wonderful staff and good food. Convenient location let's you access the main strip, but tucked away in its own little oasis adding peace and quiet from all the hustle and bustle around you.

I have been there 2 times. The rooms are lovely, the hotel staff are very nice. The restaurant has amazing burritos and quesadillas! The veggie quesadillas are my favorite. The omelettes are delicious. Very clean hotel, upgraded beds which are comparable to Westin or Hilton beds. We are returning Valentine's Day and cannot wait. Thank you Andy and Staff! -Lauren

It all started as we come into the hotel, my wife and I were waiting for our room since our flight came in earlier so we decided to get into the pool while we waited. Someone got locked inside the restroom for about 15 minutes and they couldn't get her out, they had to break the door frame I admit it was funny but I am glad it didn't happen to us.
The next day there was a huge cockroach in the restroom, since we assumed that all the rooms were going to be the same we didn't ask to be moved, we only asked them to fumigate because we were going to be out of the room for the next 2 days. At the "front desk" (it's only a table with a computer) we didn't even get an apology or anything, all he said is "okay" and we finally got good room service.
To be honest, I did not expect much from this hotel but I didn't expect what I saw either.
The breakfast is fine, they give you 6 options and the pool is open 24 hrs but it is way smaller than how it looks on the pictures.response / report this review
