In one statement, awesome resort. We came as a group, had all inclusive package. Great views, activities, nice beach. Rooms are very big. Bath in the room was the best of all. Eat Breakfast & lunch in Aguamarina and food was delicious. Eat formal dinner at Ambar. Staff here are very nice and friendly. I would definitely recommend. There was heavy rain on our last day and rooms started leaking and found puddle of water on the ground. We did aqua gym, riffle shooting, Bike Tour, etc. Spa setup (Sauna, Steam bath, jacuzzi, heated pools, etc) was absolutely awesome.

I’ve stayed at many resorts in Mexico and by far this place is definitely one of my favorite! The staff will go above and beyond to accommodate your needs and that is the main reason why they deserve a high rating. The scenery and rooms were also nice but there were very minor issues here and there (that could be fixed) & the food was better than most for sure even with only 3 restaurants. Also, it was very quiet throughout the day and there wasn’t much or anything to do at all after 8 pm but if you’re looking for a relaxing atmosphere this is the resort!

Beautiful setting with lots of lush foliage and the beach was great. The food was fantastic especially at the Ambar, my taste buds we're doing a happy dance all evening, I gained six pounds in five days. The service was wonderful, the staff super friendly. I've never been pampered before but if our stay there is what pampering is, I could get very used to it! Would love to go there again.

Amazing private, adults only, small luxury resort. Very intimate vibe with impeccable staff and beautiful suites, pool, beach. Such good food, all-inclusive but all à la carte restaurants and bars. We came on our honeymoon to relax, highly recommend.

I came to this resort a few a years ago and there was a lot of problems. I put that down to the fact that there was an awful GM that did not look after the resort, listen to clients or try to improve the place. It seems profit was all that was on his mind. I have come again and there is now a new GM and they have vastly improved the resort. Yes the prices are more expensive but I would rather pay more and get more. The food is much much better now especially the presentation and there seems to be more staff who are super friendly and attentive. There is also good quality entertainment in the evenings. The beach is nice and clean now and there is hot water. Instead of ignoring the reviews it seems they have taken the time to read them and actually try to use them as guidance as to what to change. It is always impossible to improve a place that was neglected so quickly so I think some of the reviews on here are unfair. I am sure the new GM will look at those reviews and fix those issues right away. The only thing I can see now that needs fixing is the pier. It would be also nice to have a Jet Ski that could be offered to clients to enjoy the beautiful sea as sometime it is too choppy to go snorkelling. Apart from that some of the fixtures and fittings could use a good polish and perhaps some parts of the room good use a lick of paint and clean but apart from that the place is great! Congratulations to the new GM on doing a great job! Keep it up!

Excellent service. Amazingly human warm staff. Super delicious food. Circle One staff: Araceli Jimenez. Jose-Luis. Enrique. Buttlers- Cesar & Cesar. Chef Francisco Lugo at Aqua Marina restaurant has the greatest ingredient which is humanity, humbleness, incredibly knowledgeable; prepares the very best dishes. Bar Tenders / DJ's Tony & Manuel at the Aqua Marina lounge. Gerardo the young waiter, and Jose-David from Aqua Marina restaurant were great as well as Ernesto from Ámbar restaurant. Luis from the transportation department. Martha from the spa. Doña Adela from el Temascal and Edgard the Shaman. I can't name them all, but mostly- 99.9% of it's staff was just amazingly beautiful people. You will really get royalty treatment at Blue Diamond. And at Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda Resorts.
We stayed 13 nights total. Moved to it's brother the Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda resort due to our family joining us for 6 nights and not able to stay at Blue Diamond because it's a resort just for adults and there were two children in our family group. Reason why we moved from Blue Diamond back to BBGE . We have been coming to BBGE for the past 5 years. This year, we renowned our contract for 30 more years to stay at BBGE or at Blue Diamond. We love these two resorts. Aida&Freddy from Wellesley, MA Nov 19, 2017- Dec 2nd- 2017. Araceli Jimenez, Nayelli Labell, Vicky DeLaTorre- We can't say enough about how super wonderful workers they were. Went Overboard to service us. Far and beyond to service every one of Circle One members. I could stay and live at BBGE and Blue Diamond for the next 30 years.

Currently staying here in our second night, as someone who has stayed at many 5 Star luxury boutique hotels, the blue diamond is far from that our “butler” is never around we ask him for service he yeses us to death and never delivers, we asked for a “bath” which oddly they need to fill, it was ice cold and we called to complain and they told us that was the norm. It’s become a joke asking him for things because nothing we ask for ever comes. It takes forever to get a drink here and we’re 99.9% sure they water down the liquor here. They only good quality is the wait staff at the pool. Not impressed and definitely would not quantify this as a five star nor a boutique hotel. #disappointed

The best part was booking Chef’s Table. Need minimum of 4 people. Chef creates a menu and serves 12-13 spectacular courses with 3 wine pairings. We were there for work meetings and it was very nice. Make sure to book your bike at Concierge ASAP because it’s a long walk to the beach and biking with a basket is a lot more fun!

Just got back, I really enjoyed it. The staff is what makes this place really enjoyable. I stayed at one of the rooms with a water view (Not the ocean) with the private roof top deck. The room was really nice my only complaints about the room are: Missing shower glass door. You can tell there was one there before hand. The doors for the balcony are big and very heavy. This would be a concern for elderly. Keep the doors closed as much as possible as bugs will come in. The tub is just outside the bathroom with an open roof. Only bad thing it has no heat or hot water for tub. The restaurant by the pool/ocean was the best. The meals were very good no buffet. I got somewhat upset as being a paying customer to the resort I had to change some of my plans due to a wedding they had going on there. On my second day they took over the pool/ bar area in the evening so only open to them. I tried going to the Ambar restaurant that same evening (which is their fancy restaurant on the premises) only to be told it was closed due to the wedding party having a dinner there until 8pm. They should have had private areas for the wedding party. They finally had areas private for them the next couple of days until the wedding. I did the massage at the spa which was very good. I would visit again. As I said the staff is what made it worth while and the jungle setting was great. Had a monkey come take a pineapple out of my Pina colada. Beautiful birds etc staff goes out of their way to make you happy.

Blue Diamond is a quiet relaxing place with beautiful views both jungle and ocean. There is also a lot of wildlife that hangs around throughiut the resort. The service staff is amazing and will get you anything you need to make your stay better. Due to the shape of the resort it can be a long walk to the beach depending on where your room is located but they do offer bikes to use during your stay or you can call and have someone pick you up in a golf cart. Will definitely be going back again.

I'm going to try to be as honest as I can. I'll start by saying that I was unbelievably excited for this vacation. I spend about 150 days each year on the road for work (so i know a lot about hotels and what to expect).

    THE ROOM:
The rooms are spacious and modestly decorated. There are obvious signs of wear and tear (and occasional hole in the floor, chipped tile, ect), but this honestly doesn't bother me.

The bed was absolutely disgusting. Please look at the picture I posted if you have questions. It was literally the most uncomfortable thing that I have slept on in years (and I spend over 150 days each year at various hotels for work, I have a decent barometer for comparison). I pulled of the sheets on the last day to discover what looks like something they pulled from the garbage. It's COVERED in stains, warped.

The sink and shower didn't drain and had a terrible odor coming from it, so we did the obvious thing and called maintenance to have it fixed. The picture shown is from the last day. Again, you be the judge if that looks at all to be fixed.

They DON'T have common room items like a hair dryer. We plugged in the one that we managed to get which promptly blew a fuse. SO, if you have a girl with you, plan on towel drying your hair only.

    THE LAYOUT:
The resort is very long and skinny. They provide bikes to help guests move front point A to B because otherwise it would take forever. They don't have enough bikes to everyone.

    THE FOOD:
It's a boutique hotel, so the menu is limited. They do have about 2 specials per day, but even in our stay this repeated. Gluten free menu was very limited.

    THE BAR:
Lets be honest, you're coming to an all inclusive to enjoy the drinks and the food. They have a drink menu and it's extensive. BUT, the bartenders don't know how to make the majority of the drinks on the menu. The alcohol they use is mostly decent well quality (absolut vodka, ect.), but for many drinks they don't use very much of it.

    ACTIVITIES:
The website will list that certain activities are included. What they don't say is that the spots are very limited, and unless you call before you even arrive, it's doubtful you will be able to participate.

    THE LAST DAY:
On the last day, we gathered our things together, enjoyed breakfast and hung out in our room with the plan to stay there until our check out time. We get a call from the front desk telling us that we need to leave our room early (before the checkout time), because they need the room. We politely tell them no. They call back literally one minute later asking us if they can send a bellboy to help us leave our room. Again, I promise them that we will not overstay and politely tell them no again. I explain that when it's time to check out, we will take ourselves to the front. Again, one minute later, the front desk calls again. This time telling us they've sent someone to our room to take us to the front. Unbelievable. It was the icing on the cake.

    FINAL THOUGHTS:
At several points during our stay we called to express our displeasure with the service that we were receiving. Nothing, not even so much as a simple apology for anything that had occurred during our stay. That's what blows my mind about the entire thing. Think what would happen if you were to stay a marriott and some of these things were to happen (disgusting bed, shower or sink that doesn't work and causes a foul smell). They would immediately apologize and do what they could to make it right. It's called customer service. That was literally non-existent and is the last thing that you would expect to see from a "luxury hotel."

Blue Diamond tries it's best to impress you. My girlfriend and I were upgraded to the premium beach side suite due to them overbooking, and we could not be more shocked by how amazing the room is. The room comes with a butler, which is more of a personal concierge whom you can call to book reservations and any room requests you may have. The food has been amazing and the drinks are plentiful. The hotel does somewhat miss on the small details in its construction, but it is easy to overlook with how much the hotel offers. My only concern is with rooms that are located more to the front of the hotel entrance, guests are dependent on carts or bicycles for transport, which is not a huge deal. Another thing to note is that Playa del Carmen gets very windy, so note the weather before you book your trip.

If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. com Booked this hotel on there and they had the cheapest rates around

Fantastic, friendly service and beautiful grounds and architecture. Has a more secluded, quiet, classy feel than other resorts. Judging from strolls up and down the beach, I think this resort probably has the best beach spot in the area as well.

Food menu and quality was excellent at each restaurant. There were so many good servers and feel bad I can't remember all the names, but Armando and Luis were fantastic.

I seemed to be there during the rainy season (July), and unfortunately our unit sprang a pretty sizeable leak, though was fortunately confined to the front entry where it didn't really affect our stay. I feel the pros heavily outweighed this con.
