Looks great online when we arrived we had issues with our air conditioning not working well and our room smelled strongly like mildew, the shower squirted all over the place the window did not close all the way ect. We called the front office about it and they acted like they would take care of it and they sent some guys over who spoke no English and told us everything is fine as is. The room would not get below 72 degrees Fahrenheit in the shower was clearly squirting out the bottom all over. We spent close to a week here on the mayakoba campus and the food was really not my style even with the all-inclusive food package. Two of the days we did not have the package and everything was very expensive. The service also sucked, if you were at the pool or Beach there was no chance in hell someone was going to bring you a drink and if they did it would take them 45 minutes. This was with the gratuity included in our package and us tipping extra cash. And since the entire Resort is not all inclusive you constantly have to wait forever to get the check and sign for what you "purchased" on your package.
I much prefer the all-inclusive resorts where you can come and go as you please eat and drink as much as you want and they will never let your glass get empty, I expected a better experience given the cost of this placeresponse / report this review -

Absolute perfection. But, what more would you expect from Fairmont? The service, resort, smiles, rooms, everything, just unbelievable!!
There are bicycles available everywhere, to get around the in Norma’s property. The beverage service on the beach was a little bit lacking, but the quality of the beverage is more than makes up for it. The restaurant in the hotel lobby was absolutely incredible. The restaurant at the beach has some incredible view, obviously. Even if the Mayakoba is a little bit out of your price range, book one or two nights as a treat. We’ve been here twice (and counting) and it’s by far one of our favourite destinations. The intimacy of the this hotel is truly unique. The casitas are tucked within the jungle, connected by stoned sidewalks and mangroves, public bikes for everyone, not at all crowded, an impressive connected pool, and a fantastic beach. The staff are extremely friendly, will remember your names and preferences. You can’t go wrong here - highly recommend it.

We stayed in a lagoon view room and it was gorgeous! Perfect location between the lobby and beach. And we were only two minutes from the main pool. Great atmosphere for families to enjoy a relaxing time. The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly. Don't forget to get the all inclusive, it's worth it.

The staff was amazing from the concierge to the taxi drivers. However, I was slightly disappointed with what was offered and was hoping for perhaps free shuttles due to the cost of the hotel. The pool closes early 6pm and the resort is gridlocked My husband and I love to explore when we travel and try new food & experiences so I wish I would have done more research on the location.
This is the perfect place for perhaps an older couple who want to experience Mexico and hang ONLY in the resort. The pools are amazing and I love the adults only pool option- we wanted a place to hangout without kids around so this was perfect. The boat tour was great, and the snorkeling was a bargain for 30$ I am not giving less than 5 stars because everyone was super kind and just because it wasn't exactly our cup of tea does not mean it was not a beautiful resort! I just want to let people know if you are looking to explore outside of the resort at all this is not the best choice for you.response / report this review -

Located in the upscale and secure 'Mayakoba' area of Riviera Maya along with the Rosewood Mayakoba, Andaz, and Banyan Tree. A beautiful modern resort with all the bells and whistles. The rooms are large and flawless with outdoor showers. Internationally trained staff with emphasis on customer service. Priceless memories and an easy commute from NYC. Will return asap.

By far one on the WORST resort in terms of service. The staff is helpless whenever you have an issue. The rooms are extremely damp. Honestly, don't trust the reviews here. A lot of people we met on the resort also didnt understand the outstanding reviews. It's a 4-Star hotel. Definitely not a 5-star

Fairmont does luxury best. This hote is located on the Mayakoba complex where there are two other resorts. The restaurants are exceptional (especially the sushi ironically, and the local fair). The star is top-notch and service is impeccable. Our favourite Fairmont is the Plaza in NYC, but this resort is not too far behind.

Our extended family, My wife and I, our adult son, his wife and three small children ,1,3,5. Our experience was exceptional. The service was exceptional, the food excellent and the staff could not have been more accommodating. We will definitely come back.

Meeting space excellent. Spa and fitness facilities gorgeous and spotlessly clean. All staff we dealt with were friendly and equally proficient in English and Spanish (very nice for our non-Spanish speaking group members)

This hotel is a piece of trash. The infrastructure is not updated, the layout is totally ridiculous where you need to ride another 5 min in a golf car to get to your room or to the main lobby. The property is old, not 5 star, I don't understand why so many people here say the rooms are great, they look dated compared to a real 5 star place. They should also disclose to guests that the layout will take you through the jungle and you may be having a swarm of gnats, flies and mosquitos outside your room. Maybe for the lovers of nature this is great, but should still disclose. The staff is trying to be friendly but they can't fix anything and they get annoyed easily. I would never stay here again.

Wonderful resort, very friendly staff, nice pools. Our room was on the lagoon and very nice, the bathroom is great nice shower and a big tub as well. The only downside is the cost of food and drinks, average for us (2 adults) is $1800-$2100 pesos (little over $100 us). No other food options close and nobody will deliver here, and watch out for the bottled water at meals it was about $18 us. Overall we do really like it and would stay here again

My family had a wonderful time. We all got the rest and relaxation we craved. A special shout out to the two hostesses at La Laguna - Brenda and Izar. You have two gems there! They were a pleasure to see every morning. We hope for another visit in the near future.

Banyan house amazing Thai food. Wow the setting was marvelous. Options are sitting inside or outside. I sat outside on the deck amazing river birds singing. The atmosphere was beyond romantic and ideal i give this place a solid 5 stars. Very classy. Make reservations in advance.

This place truly delivers on it's experience. Beautiful and secluded, you feel like you're in another world. Rooms are luxurious and ample. Food is delicious, and reasonably priced. Dealt with some gruff bartenders, and the prices are high while the drinks often too weak.

Overall it was a great place to stay. They have hotel golf carts with drivers to get you around because the place is so big and spread out. If you stay here you must pay extra for the all inclusive deal and it is totally worth it. It includes room service and they only charge you a $5 delivery charge and the food is free with all inclusive. We had breakfast on our room balcony every morning. Most alcohol and nearly all the menu items are included. A double Jack and Coke is $28 USD without the all inclusive. With the all inclusive, it's free. The pools and private beach were great and kept clean. Our room was nice and big with marble everywhere in the bathrooms.
There really is no night life on the property. The hotel bars close early, I think 11 pm. I would have given it 5 stars if they had some type of bar/restaurant/entertainment or anything really that stayed open later or preferably all night. Regardless, I will go back.response / report this review -

We felt like royalty at the Fairmont Mayakoba resort. The staff is to be commended for their professionalism yet relaxed manner in how they treated their guests.
Our room was beautifula nice layout with a balcony overlooking the golf course by the river. We enjoyed watching the boat cruises as they leisurely floated by.
Our meals were second to nonebeautifully plated and served with a smile. The menus offered many choices to suit all tastes.
We were well looked after by the pool with fresh fruit offered and even having our sunglasses cleaned. Such service!
This is a 5 ***** in every sense of the way. Go and experience yourself.response / report this review
