Had a wonderful time at Vista Sol! It's pretty much what you'd expect from an all-inclusive here. The rooms were clean and well-maintained. The staff were very friendly. As someone with Celiac disease I was a bit nervous about eating but the kitchen staff were incredibly helpful to me every day. I didn't get sick even once. The beach is beautiful and their recreation staff have all kinds of fun activities to keep you busy. This resort has a lot of different pools and one of them even has a swim-up bar which is super fun. I'd definitely be happy to stay here again next time I'm in Punta Cana.

Four star hotel, service is indeed a 4 star stile. Entertainment is great. Towel and room service is bad, very bad. Close to the beach. All inclusive is OK but it's good to have three other good restaurants to choose from. Our stay was great although there was a lot of construction work going on. Lots of noise from building that was teared down.

The resort itself is beautiful and the workers are very nice and helpful. Front desk workers are absolutely terrible at customer service. We had a BEDBUG issue in our room and requested a new room. Front desk told us that there weren't any rooms available and front desk told us that we either go back to our room and they would change out sheets or we could sleep in the lobby. They finally decided to change our room to a different one in a different building and we were only in the room for 5 minutes and we saw another bug similar to the one we saw in our original room. Front desk swore that they didn't have bedbugs and suggested that we "might've bought the bug there".

Long story short, I would NOT recommend this hotel for anyone. I'm willing to spend more money at a nicer resort with better customer service.

    Believe the bad reviews!!!

-The only positive thing I can say is that the rooms were clean.
-The food was completely unsanitary with flies all over it. We were sick the entire week.
-The pools were cloudy with peeling or moldy tile.
-No where near enough pool chairs at any pool.
    -Lacking activities and entertainment.
-The front desk attendant literally rolled her eyes at us while we were trying to check in.
-The room temperature was 78 F the entire week.
-We could never find the sports bar no matter how many people we asked. I seriously think they closed it and just have not updated their map.
-It seems to be a bit of a bait and switch type deal since it is "all inclusive" yet you can only eat at each of the 3 restaurants 1 time. Each night the restaurants were at least half empty yet there was supposedly only 1 reservation left per night. Some of the other guests were not even able to make a reservation at all. Not only was the buffet unsanitary but the quality of the restaurant food was absolutely horrendous.
-The man who is stationed in front of the buffet attempted to sell my husband marijuana and cocaine every time he walked by.
-I strongly believe that we were sick during our stay because the open air buffet was completely infested with flies. I understand that it is a different culture and open air restaurants are great but food safety did seem to be an issue. The fresh fruit that they have mentioned in their response was browning at the edges and looked like it had set out all day.
-during a performance at the theater when the male actors were wearing loin cloths we were unfortunately shown his gentialia. The costumes looked to be just regular wash cloths or dinner napkins and that actor decided not to wear any underwear with his. I am so thankful we did not have any children with us at the time
-I am not surprised by Vista Sol's response after seeing the manners of the staff from the minute we walked in the door.

I submitted this review to Trip Advisor. Vista Sol responded by saying they did not believe I had actually visited their resort.

My bf booked Vista Sol for a birthday trip for me, it was my 1st time in DR and we plan on returning as soon as possible. Now once it came to the hotel it was decent, had plenty of things to do but the food was just a pass. In the mornings I looked forward to breakfast because they had a chef that made excellent omelettes, once lunch came by I only looked forward to Fried Chicken and for dinner I didn't like much of the selection. Near the beach they have a snack area that serves hamburgers, hot dogs, and bananas Etc but all of the cold condiments had flies always flying around so I wasn't too thrilled about that. The women at the front desk seem to be annoyed at check-in time but everyone else at the resort had wonderful personalities. Bring lots of mosquito repellent because you'll need it.

The hotel is okay, but I would not stay again.

    Pros:
    1) Great location, near the beach.
    2) Yokasta and Rafael, these bartenders were great!
    3) The animation team and their activities.
4)The cute birds around the hotel.

    Cons:
    1) The rooms are old and dirty: The ceiling of the bathroom was leaking. Also, I got some allergies every time I was in the room (maybe the AC filter was old?), so my last nights were terrible because of the poor quality of the air in the room, I literally wanted the trip to finish because of it.
    2) People can smoke everywhere! Even inside the restaurants, the hotel doesn't control that.
    3) Staff wasn't friendly - it doesn't look like they're happy to work there.

Me and my girlfriend had a great time. Swim up room was great, beach was amazing, grounds very clean, food exceeded our expectations for sure. It's paradise. The free wifi was terrible though. Maybe it's better if you pay for the private wifi (which was an option) but not sure. We tethered our phones to our laptop and were fine. I guess the room was a little small but for $3000 it was the best vacation we ever had. The people were very friendly too.

So just got back from our trip to this resort.

    Let's start with the rooms:

Good: Very Clean, nice bathrooms and patio. English TV channels (if you plan on watching TV)

Less then good: AC did not work that wellroom was about 23 degrees Celsius the whole time, but totally livable. Shower pressure was not too good. The beds are VERY firm!!!

Check In was a bit of a challenge, not too many English speaking people working the front desk, but if you know Spanish you are gold!

The resort staff were amazing!!! all the sales people were a bit annoying, but ya gotta make a living right?

Drinks were on point! great beer, rum, more rum and the rum was amazing! haha Coffee was good, but very small portions, so if you are a Canadian looking for an extra large double double every morning, ya better plan on standing by the machine a while.

Food: Honestly it was okay, the gourmet place was not great, but the Mexican place was great! Get the ribs! The buffet was hit or miss, but there is a lot of selection. If you want bacon in the morning, GET THERE EARLY!

Pool was super clean, but closes way too early! The "hot tub" was really a cold tub with bubblesbut it is hot enough outside, so I can't see why you would want hot water.

Internet: Non Existentturn off your phone and enjoy your holiday!

    The beach: Amazing!

Overall a very nice small resort!

    Beleive the low star reviews
i did not, and we had the worst experience out of any all inclusive. We had to switch hotel after 2 days because we could not take it anymore

At the hotel we switched to, we were told by somebody who used to work at Vista Sol, that the first 9 years it was opened, it actually was a great hotel but it such no longer.

    - Everything was unsanitary,
    - Hardly anything was ever cleaned
    - Bees and other insects swarmed the drink distributors
    - The shower kept leaking water
    - The air conditioning was so poorly cleaned that it had mushrooms inside
    - I never saw anybody cleaning the pools, dead flies and oil from sun cream best describes the water of the pool
    - There are not enough beach or pool chairs for even half the people there
    - The beach was swarmed with algae and you simply cannot walk outside the beach or you’ll be swarmed by strange people that seem to want to rob you
    - The utensils were, never cleaned, and changed once every two guests
    - The food was of minor quality
    - We had to pay for most drinks, not tip, straight up pay
    - The staff were disrespectful and lazy
    - We couldn’t even change any money to give tip to the waiters
    - No animation whatsoever, except once at the main pool at 4:00
    - The Health center is in a shady place and they will not do anything to help you, unless you pay the full coverage with your insurances, my girlfriend was sick and only needed ibuprofen. The “doctor” told us that he could only if we paid him 2$ per ibuprofen, because usually they have to do a full on test, my girlfriend knew what she needed, she’s a doctor herself.

TL:DR - If you dream of a beautiful vacation, with nice beaches, nice food, courteous staff, look elsewhere, pay even a little more, as you will NOT be satisfied with Vista Sol

This is a lovely hotel. The food was fresh and variate and the people were very friendly. We had everything we needed at our disposal. The garden is lovely and full with animals and all sorts of plants. It is a perfect place for people of all ages.
