Had a great time here, Happy Happy!! Could not say anything really bad. People have their complaints at resorts, I experienced nothing that was terrible or didn't get corrected by staff immediately. Place was clean, staff was friendly and animated, never out of towels or supplies, drink servers constantly making rounds. Pool was nice, place was beautiful, great landscaping, beautiful beach, lots of fun things to do. Restaurants and food was very good, service was great, bars all over the property, good entertainment and just lots of relaxing fun.
I had so much fun here, the people are so friendly and down to earth. There were a few exceptions, they allow vendors to come on property. These people are pushy, overbearing, and don't like to hear no. We went on an excursion to the island that blue lagoon was filmed. The island is beautiful. They stop the boat for snorkeling on the way. Then they stop at the natural swimming hole. 3ft of the clearest water you can imagine. The problem I had was coming back you have to jump from one boat to another. The boats are moving and rocking which didn't help. Other than that the vacation was well worth the money. I would love to go back again.
I highly recommend you come experience this resort. Voted number 1 BY ME!!! I can't think of a bad thing to say about my stay. The whole staft is well trained and it shows everyone was great. Especially Sergio, Melvin, and Chris.. My room was great the view was spectacular. All of the restaurants were good, the entertainment was as well.. You have 2 experience it for yourself. Me and my wife were very pleased. We definitely will return in future
We went here on our first vacation as a couple and it was great! The room service was top notch and super fast when ordering! The hotel is very clean and the staff is friendly. The pools where always clean and spotless! Service on the beach was good. Better if you tipped them! My only gripe is the food wasn't that great. it wasn't the worst i have experienced but its not 5 star!
Stay Away! The worst experience thus far of any vacation. Not only are my wife and I booked to stay, but we also booked a wedding ceremony. Big mistake! Save your money and book elsewhere! For such an important event, we could barely get the staff to communicate, and when they did it was half answers or vague answers referring us back to some document that was the reason we called in the first place! They even tried to take back the free room.that comes with the room block when your party books enough rooms. The wedding staff is atrocious, and all they are concerned about is nickel and diming you to squeeze you out of everything they can. Save your money. Its better spent going to Hawaii or Vegas for a destination wedding.
Great resort. Excellent staff. From the activities staff " Very happy" and Angela are great people to Franklin the butler. The food was great especially the buffet. The Japanese restaurant was really good. Rooms were nice and clean.
I'd rate it 4.5. Nice resort for families. Generally quiet, lots of activities for both children and adults, food is mostly decent. Some rooms are underwhelming, but the ocean view rooms are the much more pleasant. Management is a bit chaotic - we didn't get the room we paid for, and had to transfer rooms twice in a day. Ended up wasting the better part of the day. After some complaining, they offered to make it up to us by offering "preferred club", which gives you access to the "premium" meals, drinks and beach area. I'd actually recommend getting the preferred club, if priced fairly - premium breakfast and lunch were great, and the club bar had the best drinks - Bourbon, Vodkas, Rye, Tequila, etc. Would come back? Definitely.
We stayed here for five days for a wedding. The staff was all-around amazing, from the front desk to the maid service. The living areas were a bit dated, but nothing major. Most places seemed similar. The ability to order room service free 24/7 was welcome, and the great dining hall with buffet style food was very good. The MASSIVE pool was the best we've seen - complete with swim up bar and tons of stuff for kids.
Great location right next to the beach. Great landscaping and a very romantic atmosphere. Rooms are older but kept up. Food is lacking in taste and preparation but I am told it's way above average for DR all inclusive resorts. Staff is very friendly and engaging.
Outdated and pushing you for an expensive upgrade
Deluxe rooms mean the cheapest rooms they have. Tropical view means looking towards the outside fence with a few palm trees in between. Small double beds and a small bath / shower. First thing they do is trying to make you buy expensive upgrades. Not worth it. I have been to better places around here. Serve terrible wine in the restaurants and have too expensive wines that you have to buy. Clever. But no thanks.
Very attentive staff and great resort and food! Only complaint would be for the rooms, they are in good shape but not great or excellent shape. But overall had a great experience at the resort! Would definitely go back whenever I get the chance.
Excellent Place.
Only real ocean view room is 1208 or 1209 Great food, restaurant's and service.
The problem is that the server's at the beach are few and rarely come around for drinks.
The shows at night don't start until 930pm and if you look around people are bored and falling asleep on the lobby couches.
Need to get a filler from about 8pm.
Even the kids shows are not every night, they probably should be (it could work as a filler.)
Overall beautiful resort and great staff but I probably wouldn't repeat unless I had to attend for a wedding. Great wedding venue.
I am a tough credic and the only reason I didn't give this resort a 5 star was it was missing a few things but overall I just got back and i had a great vacation.
This resort lacked attention to detail I know they had hurricane Irma and Maria to deal with but u would have never known there was a hurricane there the resort was being worked on but it never felt like it. A few times were broken a few walls weren't painted. And they need more fans working through out the resort. It was extremely hot in the restaurants but the food was fantastic so I could excuse the heat no matter what we ate it was good. Thank you to all the staff for going above and beyond in finding our bag we misplaced and treating us like family from the moment we arrived. See you next year we will be back.
Compared to other resorts we've stayed at this one was just Okay. The facilities aren't the best but they were always clean. The food was edible but not exactly "good". There's limited to no AC in all of the buildings so it was hot everywhere, all the time, even the pool water was warm. We had a large group with 6 rooms and it appeared that each one was lacking something (AC, cold fridge, housekeeping, clogged shower). The staff was really friendly, the resort grounds are beautiful, it never felt crowded there was plenty of chairs on the beach and pool side. There's a lot of activities so you can make the most of it if you tried. If you're looking for an inexpensive tropical vacation without any expectations Dreams is for you. However, I would not recommend staying here if you're traveling with all adults. There was only one choice of beer and no top shelf liquor.
I wanted to like this place. Like most of the posts have said the grounds were beautiful and kept up. However it was extremely hot and not having A/C in the restaurants is not acceptable. We paid extra for a "swim out" room and found that you have to walk 30 ft from your room only to jump down a 4 to 5 ft ledge which you can't get out of when you are done using the pool. So these are NOT true swim out rooms. Also, we got badgered about upgrades during check-in and during Sunday night especially. No means no (in Spanish and in English) and it's extremely rude to keep bugging me and my wife.
The rooms were mediocre at best and we did have cockroaches in our room.
I was 16 I went here last year for vacation and i LOVED it here. The rooms weren't so great and check-in took a long time, but overall, the experience was so much fun. Punta Cana has an entertainment team that really does make the trip so much fun. They have water games, zumba, water aerobics, beach games, and so much more. They're all super energetic men that don't give you a choice to join the games or not, but trust me IT'S SO WORTH IT! even if you're shy, so along with it. that's what made the vacation SO much fun. PROPS TO THE ENTERTAINMENT TEAM! the food was also amazing!!! loved all of it.
While the grounds are beautiful and most of the employees are fabulous the resort is full of empty promises. From the moment I arrived they continually tried selling us things. We did upgrade to the premier package which should have gotten us premium liquor and beer but they were always out of it. Restaurant had no a.c. and while eating dinner they shut the doors so we had to walk out. They never restock the mini bar. The beach was loaded with seaweed no one was in Ocean only the pool. I would never return or recommend this resort.
Absolutely beautiful place. The food at some of the restaurants was great! Hibachi grill was my all time favorite. The buffet wasn't as great as I'd hoped. All the workers were friendly. Leonel was one of our favorite people to run into when we'd play tennis. The gym here was nice and clean. The beach was beautiful. The pool is huge so you never feel crowded. The drinks were delicious! Unfortunately my husband and I both got very sick while here, most likely from the water or food at the resort. Overall it was an experience I was grateful to have but I probably wouldn't come here again. Definitely worth a one time try for anyone who just wants a relaxing vacation.
Beautiful place! So relaxing and we were greeted with friendly smiles daily. Food was excellent. We didn't go to the French or hibachi restaurants, but really enjoyed the buffet, pizza, steak house and beach grill restaurants. Preferred is the way to go. Only reason it didn't give it 5 stars is because of our room. It was supposed to be a spectacular garden view and we got the view of the service road/path. The workers and vehicles were back and forth. We just like to sit out there to enjoy morning coffee, but that wasn't happening. All in all, it was an awesome trip.
Lovely experience! Joubersky was spot on when it came to my wedding plans & ideasand I was thousands of miles away communicating via email. Beach was beautiful and clean. Food was good. Staff was friendly.
Absolutely amazing. Could have been more notified about things but food was great, service was great, rooms were great, beaches were white and the best I've ever seen, and the drinks and pool bar was amazing! Also loved walking down the pool: very long and relaxing (just ignore all the kids screaming). Be sure to be a member of "the preferred club". Amazing food. If your a walking down the beach kind of person, this is not the place for you. Not much property to walk on. So relaxing and would definitely love to come here again!!!
We just got home from a six night stay at Dreams. This was our sixth all inclusive vacation and our second at a Beaches resort. The staff was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The rooms were always well kept, well stocked and tidy. The food was always delicious and varied. Being able to grab a chicken burger, cheeseburger, hot dog or freshly made pizza while on the beach was lovely. The swim up bar, pool activities, and drink service on the beach was lovely. At night the restaurants were able to get us seated quickly despite our popular 7:30 arrival time. My only "wish" is we were notified ahead of time which restaurants would be closed that night for a private function. We would arrive at a dinner place to find out it was closed for a private event or a wedding. This left us out of the Japanese restaurant and The Wine Cellar. Two we would have loved to do. The food was all done superbly and always with a beautiful presentation. We would not hesitate to recommend this Dreams resort to anyone. Well done!
Just returned from Dreams Punta Cana and would give more than 5 stars if they were available. The grounds were beautiful. The pool was great because it literally stretched through the whole resort. The beach was very clean and safe. The food and the staff were amazing. Simon (aka Happy Happy) was filled with energy that was contagious and made sure that everyone was well looked after. He and his team of Joahar, Ricardo and Miguel (forgive the spelling) and many more, were amazing in the main buffet. They became like old friends. I would absolutely recommend and will be going back to this resort.
The hotel is nice and the employees friendly. The pool area and beach very beautiful. But the rooms are terrible. For a $300 night we had to deal with a toilet what didn't flush, beds were squeaky, pillows what stunk like someone's old sweat, mold in the shower area and if the neighbors went number 2 to the bathroom, we smelled it through our AC vent. The thermostat was also broken so we couldn't adjust the room temperature. The hotel itself I liked, but they definitely have to renovate their rooms. If we would have stayed longer than 4 days I wouldn't have accepted it so easy.
