The location is perfect, situated a 5 minute stroll away from Munich main railway station. The staff are friendly and helpful, with perfect command of English.
The rooms are clean with a fresh mattress cover, duvet cover, and pillow case - and also a fresh towel on request. Each visitor has their own locker, bed light, and charging point by their bed.
There is a nice 'indoor garden' with lots of couch space and plenty of power sockets. The bar serves very reasonably priced food and drinks, and the breakfast is a bargain considering it includes the option to make your own ham and cheese toasties.response / report this review -

Big hostel. Clean and comfortable beds. Good place to meet other travelers. They have a good bar with happy hours from 6pm to 8pm.

This is a typical, well-established mega-hostel right in the middle of Munich with lots of floors and rooms. It regularly hosts tour groups, so it fills up quickly. I stayed for a week and found the place pleasant. Clean rooms, wooden bunks that don't creek and are comfortable , generously-sized rooms, and pretty nice bar and common area. The cons are, being a big hostel chain (and as with all of them), I don't find them great for meeting people as a solo traveller. I also think Wombats is a bit on the pricey side, but I guess you can see that they invest in quality establishment. Breakfast is good also.

I was in Munich for a concert 2 weeks ago and I needed 3 things: a comfortable bed, a place to meet people and a secure spot to leave my belongings. This hostel was the best thing I could have asked for: right in front of the train station it offers a great place to visit the city center on foot or by public transport, security is guaranteed through state-of-art magnetic lockers connected to your personal room key and the big common hall is an amazing place to rest for a couple hours.

Great experience at this hostel. The location was great - right by the main train station. The rooms were clean and large with with lockers to store your things securely. They had a gorgeous "winter garden" to relax and mingle with other travelers and a bar on site. You are given a coupon for a free beverage upon check in and they have live music. Everyone was super friendly here. I admit I was worried about noise from the bar on-site (especially since my room was right above it) but I barely heard the noise and at midnight they really did enforce the quiet hours.

Best hostel we've stayed in so far. It's about a 5 minute walk from the main Munich train station - being central, it's also close to other main attractions in the city (e.g. Glockenspiel, St Peter's church, Viktualienmarkt etc). We stayed in a private room, which comes with its own balcony! The staff a very nice and helpful and best of all the drinks at the bar are cheap and the atmosphere is great! All in all we enjoyed our stay here and recommend it to everyone.

Pros: nice bar and large lodging area, free towels
Cons: parking costs 17 euro/night(10 at euro youth hostel next door), I met an unfriendly staff when I came in but the rest seemed nice, always wet bathroom floor.
This hostel is very popular hence they have a hard time keeping up maintenance. Facilities were worn out. Although it offers a good environment to hang out and to socialize.
I enjoyed my stay at the euro youth hostel next door more. (Cheaper, cleaner, although no free towels and not as good breakfast but their staff rock!)

Came here for the bar (friend was an overnight guest). The staff was very pleasant and even helped us with our itinerary. Bar had a great atmosphere and was reasonably priced. I would definitely stay here in the future!

I stayed in a 6-bed girls room, and I absolutely loved my stay! Perfect location to explore Munich, and I enjoyed the common areas, especially the bar. I was traveling solo but I had a very easy time meeting people here! My only complaint is that our bathroom floor was almost always wet from the shower, but I just dealt with it. I highly recommend staying at Wombats in Munich!

Good hostel located right near the train station. The staff is very nice. The only reason I gave them 4 stars is because there was only one toilet and shower for 10 people. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay!
