Great for a short girls getaway we stayed at the building across from the main one and it was updated and very nice. Private breakfast nook also.

Very nice hotel in a quit area of Varadero. The hotel area is very simple and a little bit old fashioned. But you want like it. In the hotel you can find three bars, in which you get all drinks for free. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, but please don`t claim a modern and west oriented style. The highlight of the hotel is the picturesque, wonderful beach -such a dream. Here you can find recumbency for free. All time in the main restaurant there are a great division of food and dishes. I recommend this hotel very much.

Great location. Located in the downtown area. Able to safely walk the strip.
No swim up bar which sucks. No disco (theres an outside party always across the street so no real worries there)
Not enough music at the pool area. Bring your own speaker.

Great combination of beach and town centred activities. Check out the a la carte Cuban restaurant cosy and intimate. Good food and presentation.

We bought a day pass for 35 CUC. But there were not any sunbeds available on the beach (most of them were broken) and the staff was not keen to help until we complained to the manager.
The drinks were watery and filled with non-branded beverages!The food was bellow average! The 4 star rate doesn't correspond to any Western standards!
The souvenir shop was expensive! All the cigars were 2,5 more expensive than anywhere else in Cuba.

Food: Only time you eat is to fill yourself up and to relive that hunger, however food was bland and mushy 4/10

Entertainment: something to do every night 7/10

Staff: super friendly *loves Canadians 10/10

Location: need to take a bus into town or Havana so check with main desk to book a trip, it would cost *I think its 20-40 CUC for a taxi into Havana, very nice beach side location 8/10

Rooms: small bugs all over the floor and if you leave out food overnight ants will come but in the end the room was decent for a three star resort. 4/10

Roomservice: is great, care taker does an amazing job cleaning the bathroom and changing the sheets *I know because I've thrown up everywhere and the next day it's fresh. 8/10

Bars: they serve the same kind of beer everywhere throughout the resort, at first it tastes like Budweiser but the more you drink that, the thicker it tastes, they occasionally serve minors and they tell by the wristband colour they give you at check in. They do give out shots, many varieties which tastes like home if you do miss it. 7/10

My fiance and I stayed here for the week of November and fell in love! The staff were wonderful and our room was very comfortable and clean! Food was fantastic and the drinks were delicious! Thank you for the lovely stay!

As a full time student, who works part time, finally had enough money saved for an all-inclusive vacation prior to commencing the next term.
It was the absolute worst vacation of all time, in terms of hospitality, food and service.
Primarily, the staff was above average until they figured out I had limited funds to tip. (2-3 days into the stay) They treated me like absolute garbage.
For example, when I went to the bar to order a drink, the bartender would run to the back and hide for minutes. Reject my specific order and say, "sorry we're out " when the person next to me ordered the same drink.
Food was bland and repetitive every night. I’d recommend bringing ketchup, tabasco sauce, or any sort of topping’s you’re accustomed to. Stay away from any meat, because it will most likely be under cooked and you will get sick.
Also found multiple insects in the buffet food, which was most likely stored and reused for next day meals.
At the end of the trip, when I explained to the customer service adviser, how unhospitable the staff was, items/money from my room went missing after the cleaning lady “cleaned” my room. She simply fake typed for a couple seconds and asked, “is that it?”
I would not recommend this hotel to any student looking to enjoy a fun vacation as the average age was 40-80 years old.
The only bright side was that the best clubs/bars in Varadero (Havana Club, Casa De Música, Calle&2, The Beatles, Havaneando) were all a short walk away. This does save an arm and a leg on taxi fairs compared to other hotels in the city.

My trip to Cub was not the best, the hotel Starfish needs to be updated a lot, the staff was wonderful, the food very very bad, the resort poor, to many bugs and flies on the food,and no taste was so ever, cats and dogs outside the food area, beach had to many rock on the sand, the ocean was wonderful, the drink were water down and they did not taste good, the 3rd day the pool was green and very cloudy, could not go in. The entertainment was excellent, the DJ was very friendly and nice.
1st day our room smelt like smoke and to many bugs, 2nd day the AC broke so it was very hot and we could not sleep the night, it took them the next day to fix it after we complained 3 time. Also we never knew what the agenda for the day. We found out by speaking to other guest. over all i rate them 2. I do not think i would never go back to that resort.

If I could give negative reviews I would; holy man did this resort ever turn me off of Cuba.

Don't get me wrong; it's beautiful and spacious but that doesn't matter when you've got bar tenders giving you water from a gun that's hooked up to the taps. This fatal flaw enevidibly led to both my girlfriend being sick the entire time we were there.

In the midst of losing 20lbs in one week because we couldn't keep anything down we were severly dehydrated and the maids came around with 1 water bottle for the two of us, sometimes in the morning sometimes in the evening, sometimes not even at all!

Being sick aside, the bartenders are robotoic. They don't crack a smile, and out of all the resort staff we met 2 people who we tipped, not because their service was excellent but because it was above the average dullness of the other employeees working there.

Food was edible but lacking in flavor but that's a Cuban thing can't blame them I guess but man oh man this is my second time coming to Cuba and this resort lived up to every horror story my first visit destroyed.

We stayed there in mid July 2016 visit from from Australia and were on a budget but was very pleased with the location and access to the beautiful beach and waters. Unfortunately there is a night club directly across from our room on a Tuesday night and the hotel didn't move us away from the noise so we didn't end up sleeping until 2am. Other than that Varadero is a beautiful place

I was there in october last year with 20 friends. Love the location and the beach! But I go out often to nice restaurants on the strip! Going back the 4 of July 2016 with my husband!!
