The room is a little sparse, and I'm need of an update (electrical outlets are hard to come by). The TV has something like 200 channels appear on the guide, but the vast majority don't work. It would be nice if the hotel provided a list of channels that work. These things aren't great, but they aren't why I gave the hotel a low rating. Hotel Metropole shares services with Hotel Kreuz across the street. Metropole guests are invited to use the Kreuz roof deck. My wife and I went to Kreuz one morning after at rained to go up to the roof, and the staff was helpful. We returned later that night to go back on the roof. The man at the desk was very rude, insisted that the roof was closed due to that morning's rain, and that the roof had closed due to the late hour (a few minutes past 7pm). When we stated that we could see the roof open from our room across the street, he gave us the key. Later, we asked at the Hotel Metropole how to get to the Bern airport. It was clear the woman working the deal had no idea, and when we later looked into it, her directions we're wrong. It's not a big airport, so maybe not many guests ask, but shouldn't this be basic knowledge for someone working a hotel desk in Bern? I would not return to either the Hotel Metropole or Hotel Kreuz. The staff is rude, uninformed, and the rooms are I'm need of an update.

Not the modernest hotel of all, but it has a large room, nice view, in the city centre and a nice bureau to work from excellent choice to stay!

Location just cannot be better! 2 minutes away from the old clock tower and 5 from the railway station. Staff is awesome!!!

The hotel is a little bit old and probably needs some maintenance activity, but it has a very strategic position, in the heart of Bern, close to everything

This is a perfect hotel in central location if traveling on a budget. the bed was very comfortable.
