Nice stay. Enjoyable breakfast.
It's ok, nothing special, no parking.
No aircond, good location, near train station, so many restaurants near the hotel
Very central and close to the tourist attractions in Lucerne. Friendly staff and clean rooms. Nice breakfast.
Great hotel, location and service!
We had a wonderful experience at Swiss Alpina. Our rooms were big enough decked with tv,sufficient cupboard space, gallery and mount pilatus view. The breakfast was hooked up at the sister hotel Monopol. The location is great as it is close to the station and the Kapellbrücke! We also took a Mount pilatus tour with viator and had the pick up/ drop point quite close to the hotel. The breakfast was healthy, delicious and plenty. Wi fi worked great!
Probably we chose a wrong Hotel for Summers. The only good point about the hotel was their staff who were always so supportive. We got Room no. 52 which was too small compare to what they showed up on their website during the booking. Plus they mentioned a ceiling fan in the voucher but instead they provided us a standing fan. However the staff provided us a second fan but still it wasn't enough to beat the heat. The wi-fi was never working. Our 5 nights stay really became miserable due to the poor amenities. Not at all a value for money. I guess there could be many other options of new hotels in lucerne rather than just looking for the brand.
Rooms are small, but it's fine. You have the city to explore. May get cramped with two or more people. As others have said, it's fed from its 4-star counterpart down the road. Breakfast was great! Even without AC I was fine in early June. The water cools the town off well. EXTREMELY close to the train station. Really convenient. Everything is within a 20 minute walk--though that is a function of Lucerne, more than Alpina's location. Overall, I'd recommend it. But, I'm sure you could find nicer, or cheaper. Maybe not both.
Nice hotel, great location with easy access to public transportation and a range of restaurants with starbucks and mcdonalds around the corner. The hotel relies on its 4 star counterpart hotel Monopol which is just 3 or 5 doors down. Some of the amenities are only found in the hotel Monopol like their ice machine, hot water, and breakfast buffet. The hotel doesn't have any air-conditioning, because it is a historical building protected by the government, but they do provide an electric fan. On weekends the bar by the entrance of the hotel is filled so if you have a room with a window facing the road you will have to bare with the noise for the weekend. Overall really clean and cozy hotel, with easy access to food and public transportation as well as most of the tourist sites around Lucerne very near the farthest being just a 1 km walk. Would highly recommend!
