I don’t give praise lightly, fortunately everything about Rimrock Resort Hotel was exclusive. It is excellent hotel and the property kept extremely clean.
The Christmas decorations brought us the holiday spirit. The hotel was warm and cozy. Front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming.
We booked to dine at Eden on a open table online. Something went wrong with our booking and seemed like we’ve never been booked for Eden. We showed the concierge our confirmation email, but he couldn’t find our reservation for 7.30pm in a system. However, the concierge staff personally went to the kitchen to talk to a chef if he can squeeze us in at a different time. The staff came back with a little hope saying that we should go to our room and he will call us when he hears back from the kitchen. Eden was booked solid for the time of our reservation (7.30pm), so we agree to have our dinner late if they can find open table for us.
We went to our room which was vey cozy. The room was spacious, stylish and super clean. We even enjoyed having our house robes. While getting ready to go to a pool for swimming and sure enough we received a call that we can have our dinner at Eden at 9.30pm. It was late for my 8 year old niece to wait, but we decided to wait anyway.
By 9.20pm, my family and I arrived at Eden. The area was spacious and one of the best that I have experienced. We’ve been seated and service started with champagne cart followed by two other servers for our starter, drinks and main dish. The food was beyond our imagination and great value for the money we’ve paid. Every single bite was mouth watering. The service was excellent. We’ve been treated like royalty and never wanted to leave. After our dinner, Chad took us to the kitchen to greet the chefs who prepared our meal.
The hotel was very busy with wedding and other Christmas occasion, but we enjoyed every bit of the stay. After our recent stay we can highly recommend this hotel. It is one of the best hotel we have ever stayed in and the food is first class. You will not be disappointed if you choose this hotel and your every need will be catered for by the staff.
I had only minor issue finding a spot for parking, but our stay at Rimrock Resort Hotel was epic. We’ll definitely stay here again when visiting the area and would recommended to others.response / report this review -

A beautiful hotel in one of the most beautiful locations in Alberta. We enjoyed our stay and made use of the Larkspur Lounge, the Primrose dining room, and the pool and fitness room. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing that could be improved is more space in the parking garage.

Beautiful place with Wonderful staff. They have very good food and beverages too! The resort is nice and comfortable, well appointed without a snobby air. You can tell they appreciate their guests!

Second time being there and it's the best place I've ever stayed! They upgraded us for nothing because they weren't busy the days we stayed this time. We didn't have a microwave on the room but they brought us one in less than 5 minutes of calling the desk. The spa and gym area is awesome! The breakfast buffet is delicious and it includes yogurt smoothies that are to die for.

The heat in our room took forever to heat up. After the maintenance men came they said our room was 19.5 and that they would give us a little heater. After complaining again that they gave us a little heater they were willing to move us rooms after freezing for a few hours. Paying $639 for 2 nights and having to use little space heaters in our room is ridiculous.
Also, the jets in the bathtub didn't work.
The lady I checked in with was not very friendly and pleasant to deal with.
They were out of parking so we had to use valet parking which was also a pain.
I have stayed with lots of different hotels in Banff and the experiences were much better. I won't be returning.
I thought booking with the Rimrock they would have had better customer service..response / report this review -

For the price of this hotel (me and my boyfriend stayed for $493 for one night, and this price included a discount for having an AMA/CAA membership) it is so not even close to being worth it. It is amazing that someone can spend that much money to stay somewhere, and not even receive a complimentary breakfast included in this price. Yes, the location is beautiful, but there is nothing special about the hotel itself, and in the room we had, there was no view, the trees were right at our window and covered any view or sunlight. I've stayed at hotels for more than half of the price, in just as amazing of a location (perfect view of Niagara Falls) and the rooms were way nicer and even included a Jacuzzi tub and breakfast. There was blood on our bed sheets, the housekeeper had to come and change the sheets, and we were missing our two bathrobes to wear down to the spa and pool - both were replaced, and we were given no sorts of apology from the hotel. We did not eat at any of the restaurants inside of the hotel, as every menu we glimpsed at was so overpriced based on the price we already paid just for the room. Luckily, it was my birthday weekend, and the price was the least of our worries. Had a great time, which made up for the hotel, however , I would never stay here again unless it was my last option. Hotel overall wasn't bad or unclean, but for the price, and what is included, it is not worth it.

The location, staff, food and cleanliness was fantastic and the bed and pillows certainly helped us sleep well. However, the bathroom was far from what we have become used to. It was far too small and badly laid out. The fact that the wardrobe was in a room with a wash basin seemed very odd; it could have been in the bedroom. There was only one bedside table, yet two double beds. The room was badly lit and was short of power sockets by the beds. I felt uncomfortable sitting in the garden area, as it was being used by people lounging about in dressing gowns as they were using the spa facilities. It just seemed strange. The staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful and we did enjoy our stay.

Great as a hotel, somethingoff as a wedding venue. First, there's is nowhere near enough parking, and it is not clearly marked. Wedding guests (not hotel guests as they weren't staying overnight) were confused as the parkade was labeled 'hotel guests only'. When they asked staff where to go the staff didn't know (after bragging of hosting six weddings that day). Despite being in the wedding package, the rehearsal "wasn't reserved" so we had to fight with staff to get the room opened. Morning of the wedding staff ignored the bride's seating plans and upon her correcting them they simply said "but everyone else does it this way" and didn't change until the florist arrived and took control from them.
Actual service staff-the bartenders, DJ, dinner servers, were all spectacular. As well as those in the Primrose and lounges we patronized for the weekend. Bell staff was wonderful, and concierge helpful whenever we needed them. And of course you can't beat the views.response / report this review -

All staff are very helpful and accommodating. Rooms are clean and well equipped. Getting a room with a view is definitely something you should consider if you are staying here. Breakfast buffet is great, and food via room service is also very good. Pet friendly rooms are available (even with a view) with pet bed and dishes supplied. Cribs and such for babies are available for those traveling with children. Spa services, pool, and gym (considerably larger than most hotels). This hotel is very close to the hot springs, and a few biking trails (although, it is still the national park, so depending on time of year, some trails could be closed due to bears).

We went for a hike at Johnston Canyon near Banff and stopped at Rimrock for dinner as views are beautiful as I remember from my earlier visits in mid-90's. My daughters' runners were wet so they took them off. Soon after we had staff forcing us to put shoes back on. Hey, Rimrock: the days of "upper class" dining are nearly over, get on with the program and realize that your customer base is hardworking regular people who may want to take their shoes off. The pretense to be classy needs to go. We are never going back there.

Extremely nice hotel with an excellent view! Rooms and restaurants were great. Very convenient bus that takes you to downtown Banff. I would recommend to anyone wanting to visit Banff!

Beautiful location. Wonderful staff. The breakfast buffet was awesome at the Primrose. The rooms are nice. A little dated but comfortable. Beautiful view from our room. The one thing is the hotel is really warm

Not worth the price! Don't eat at the hotel. Food is ridiculously over priced for the quality (Eden excluded as I wasn't willing to pay THAT much money to feel as disappointed as I did at the Larkspur and Primrose). Had a fire incident and no hotel staff anywhere to guide us and no signage letting us know where to go. Evacuated into the cold night with no idea or direction of where to go. Front Desk Manager didn't take ANY ownership other than to say we weren't told to evacuate (when the alarm clearly flipped into evacuate the building). There seems to be a disconnect between staff and management. Not at all worth the price considering the lack of attention to detail which you would not expect to see at these prices! They take advantage of the view which means unsuspecting tourists get taken advantage of!

There is nothing negative about this place. Such a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the view of the Rocky Mountains! The staff are extremely kind and helpful. The beds are soft and the rooms are spacious. The food is delicious. The spa is extremely relaxing. Definitely one of the best places I have stayed.
