It's a fantastic value for what you pay for - it's very cheap, and right downtown. Obviously a vintage hostel isn't going to be perfect, spotless and such, so if you are wanting to be downtown, stay in a quirky hertitage location, and pay a low price - it's a fantastic option.

Pretty nice hostel. Nothing fancy. Clean and central location.

Great location. Coffee and exceptional food everywhere within walking distance. No fan or air conditioning (not that I expected any) on a VERY hot night. Window opened over dumpster, so dealt with garbage smell all night plus garbage trucks at 7am. Closing window not an option. Sheets/blankets clean but room grungy. Not my worst hostel, but not my best

Right above the bar, it was a quick walk from the train. This was great since our plane was delayed and we arrived very late. The staff checked us in, and got everything squared away quickly. Only problem we had was the a/car was out in our room so we had to open a window, which being downtown was very noisy. They were able to check our luggage for the day so we could run around Vancouver until fettered by stuff.

Great location, good rooms, good service from reception. Had clean kitchens/common rooms which was good. Not much seemed to be going on, more interaction between guests over at the Gastown Cambie, but I was only there for a night so didn't mind.

I've stayed at the Cambie 3 times now, I usually stay here when I come over for weekend trips and concerts because it's walking distance to Roger's arena, relatively safe area and not near east side. I personally really love this place. It's cheap, yes it's very small but the bunk beds really aren't that bad and the private rooms do just fine for my friend and I. At 39$ at night between the two of us it's perfect. The taco place beside the hostel is great and the staff are friendly. Both my friend and I have used the showers many times and have never had issues or seen bed bugs. It's an old building, and things happen. I worked at a 4 star hotel that charged over 200$ a night and saw bedbugs. They aren't limited to old places. There is a bed bugs registry for Vancouver for anyone worried, but if you just want a cheap place to sleep this place is fine. Some people are loud but what do you expect ? Go have fun! It's a perfect little place

They offered a very affordable bed for the night, while also offering kitchen/common area to go to.

No never again will I ever go back to this place right when you open the door to the room it has a weird smell even the hallways smell horrible too. The walls in room 110 we're filthy you can tell they were never cleaned then to top that it was severely infested with bedbugs we got out of there so fast and got our money back that was a huge plus there we ended up staying at the empire landmark it was cloud 9 there and for less then when we paid at the seymore

Horrible stay! I had to change my room because I found BEDBUGS. In my new room I checked the bed first and found BEDBUGS again falling from my pillow. Don't sleep there!!!
I didn't want to stay so at least I got my money back. The only positive aspect I can think of.

Fine - all what I can tell you about this place. Bedrooms are almost clean, just a few scratches here and there, bathroom The bad thing about this hotel. Kinda dirty and not so clean. Also I don't saw any bedbugs here, but be aware anyway. Lits of weirdos going there. But for this price - place is fine.
