The location was great for us. The room was small but we were only there for 2 days so it was not our main concern. The staff was very friendly and professional.
I wish I could give this place 0 stars. The staff was very rude and we ended up just leaving because the rooms were so awful and the staff was so disrespectful.
Old fashioned bed and breakfast right in downtown Vancouver. The rooms are very small and have no bathrooms. Instead there are communal men's and ladies bathrooms on each floor. The price is much cheaper than any other hotel in downtown Vancouver so it's a perfect place if you're looking for the cheapest option. I would stay at the Kingston hotel bed and breakfast again.
Lovely place, cozy, and with a bit of an old-school flair. We had one of the rooms which had its own washroom. The location is excellent, breakfast is good (comes with fresh bagels). I can see how it's slightly inconvenient if you don't have your own bathroom. Staff was really nice and pleasant.
stay away from this. No A/C, no fan , hot like hell at night. complimentary breakfast with toast and coffee only
Very convenient central location.
Clean room and shared bathroom facilities.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Adjacent bar and grill had good reasonably priced food.
As we stayed in late summer the room was quite hot and humid due to limited natural ventilation / no aircon.
I'm not comfortable with share bathroom. It's also so hot in summer. It's good for the price but if you want a relaxing stay, you might take the info into consideration.
The hotel was quaint. It was not clear online that there was no bathroom or shower in the hotel room but it was shared among all the guests on the floor which made it interesting to say the least. The rooms were also very small and the breakfast was only cereal and a toasted bagel which was extremely lacking in my opinion. Overall it is ok for a budget hotel in the middle of vancouver but I would not stay there again for the bathroom issue alone.
I stayed here in the summer of 2012, so I can only say what Kingston Hotel was like 5 years ago. I had a great experience. The room was small but in good condition. It had a view of the street. The bed was clean and comfortable, better than it looks in the pictures, I think. The shared bathroom situation was fine. They were very clean and set up nicely so you still have some privacy. There was also a small unisex bathroom (on each floor I think) that locked and had a toilet, sink, and shower, which might be nice if you don't feel comfortable in the shared bathrooms. Breakfast was basic, but tasted good and the location can't be beat. I spent a week there and didn't have a car and didn't feel like I needed one.
Although there's a lingering smell reminiscent of an old house, it is very clean, the beds are comfortable, and the staff are exceptionally nice. The breakfast was alright, but still better than I expected.
Nice hotel, price is very good for the address, and the breakfast is quite nice. Bad part: the shared bathrooms.
It's cheap, but the place is pretty old. The location is great, but the rooms are small. There was one outlet and a shared floor bathroom . But hey, you save money. Tradeoffs.
Stayed there when I flew in for a concert, great little place. Would and will stay there again.
Small rooms but great location and had an excellent restaurant right next door that guests 15% off at
