Made my first purchase there with Garene and the experience was great. Professional service, helpful, not pushy and gave us options along the way. Got a good deal and will probably be returning for our second vehicle for the family.
On November 03, 2017, I visited the Don Valley North Hyundai dealership, and was assisted by Sean Cheng.
Sean, in a word, is amazing. Having recently completed a challenging relocation to Toronto, with the accompanying daily problems of a family move, Sean was super eager to help, and admittedly, the most knowledge dealership technician I have had the privilege to encounter. He was not only friendly, but caring and kind. There was no hint of rush or impatience the entire time he helped me – he took plenty of quality time to explain, make suggestions, and even call my previous Hyundai dealership on my behalf to figure-out what they had done, which was wrong, and why it was so expensive! Seriously, I was so impressed - I couldn’t thank him enough! I still can’t. Let me finish with this: I am a landed immigrant, and sometimes it can be difficult to get people to assist you without taking advantage of you, or they just don’t care. This is what really made the difference – Sean knew that I was new and inexperienced, but he had compassion, he had sensitivity, he had time and knowledge too (an abundance!) – most importantly though, he had a desire to help someone with truth, honesty and expertise. Thank you, Sean – you are an amazing man!
The dealership had missed an issue with the used car I purchased there. Although they didn't have to disclose the error, they called me as soon as they found out and rectified the situation immediately. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. I'm very happy with the used Hyundai I bought there! Thanks for the great service.
Brought my car for service repair which is under warranty. First, the advisor couldn't help me with a loaner or a rental car. I personally had to go back almost everyday because the advisor did not call me up for updates. Then after a week, again I visited their department, lo & behold, I was told that I have to pay all the repair & parts & have to pay the rental car out of my pocket. I wonder where my extended warranty went. Ball park figure of the overall cost is way out of this world.
I had to escalate it to management. Thankfully, Cato was able to look up the info. My warranty indeed covers the repair. And he also provided me a loaner which is a sigh of relief. Now, all I have to do is wait until the work is done. For now, excellent job on your part, Cato. 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 to you.
I bought a demo car, which had some mileage on it. The sales guy said that, because it is a demo, the warranty starts when I purchased it and I get full 100k km coverage in addition to the mileage on the car.
Fast forward a few years later, there is 105k km on my car and I have something that needs to get repaired and is supposed to be under warranty. Based on what the sales guy told me, I should still be covered. When I go to get my car serviced they tell me that warranty does not work that way. Basically, the sales guy lied or was incompetent. I wrote to the sales department and they ignored me.
My advice is to put little trust in what the sales people say at this dealership. Ask for everything in writing. Read all the fine print. If you want to know about the warranty, read the official documents from Hyundai. Don't rely on the the people at this dealership.
The service department is pretty good. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Overall service was OK. Nothing that blew me away. Purchased a 2017 Hyundai Tucson 1.6 Limited in Silver back on May 2017. My sales rep was Spencer. He was pleasant to deal with and made sure that I was satisfied with my purchase. Sam was the finance manager I dealt with, very friendly and not pushy whatsoever. There were a few hiccups along the way. The all season car mats that they gave me had 2 left passenger side mats, I had to make my way back to get them swapped out. Now the issue here is a referral cheque I was promised since I referred a friend of mine to buy a car from this exact dealership and sales rep a few days after I took delivery of my car. Made sure to call Spencer to remind him of this referral. I was promised that it would come in within 1 month. It's been 3 months and..nothing, not even a dealership survey so I can give them some feedback. I feel that they can definitely do better with fulfilling their promises and not forgetting about their "Valued" customers. This was my second purchase at this dealership and it may be my last, it just seems that I was forgotten after they sold me the car.
Its been about 10 years since I had to shop for a new car and my experience at Don Valley Hyundai was nothing short of phenomenal. I had the pleasure of dealing with NILO. She is incredibly knowledgeable and knows all details required to help you choose the car that best suits your needs. She is patient and is attentive to your needs. I also had the pleasure of dealing with ARTHUR. The dealership is impeccably clean and well organized and large enough to house all cars choices so to make your choice that much easier.
Thanks guys! an overall great experience
There seems to only be a single sales rep at this location that anyone should deal with. My first experience with this location was I had scheduled a meet with a dealer to find out when I had arrived the individual had taken in a customer no more than 5 minutes before my arrival. I tried to wait, but after 30 minutes I requested that the dealer contact me to reschedule another meet. I never got contacted back.
The second attempt at this location was a similar story, the dealer I had scheduled a meeting with had taken on a customer just before my arrival so I requested to be transferred to an available sales rep. After waiting around 15 minutes I was given a really polite and nice representative who helped answer my questions and took me out for a test drive of the vehicle I was inquiring about.
After putting down a deposit and 2 weeks going by, I contacted the dealer to find out some information to be told that the rules had changed 5 days earlier and I needed to come in and work out a final sales agreement.
I presented my offer and was met with the assistant sales manager who informed me that they could not go below MSRP and that negotiating the cost of the car was illegal. After a back and forth conversation where I realized the assistant sales manager was doing whatever he could to place blame on me and try to tarnish the reputation of any other dealership willing to work with me, I decided to get my deposit back on a purchase order that was now void because the original terms the purchase order was made on were no longer available and the agreement had changed.
Needless to say I took my business to another dealership who has been treating me well.
My goal for this review is not to bash the entire dealership, the sales rep I finally dealt with was fantastic, my issue is with the ego of the assistant sales manager. When a customer comes in knowing much more about a specific car that is made by Hyundai (mechanical, sales, availability, pricing) you might need to start Googling your inventory more.
Would give 0 stars if I could, have never seen such greed and dishonesty with any merchant. No comment on the sales department. But word of warning if you decide to buy a car there never go back for service. Take your car anywhere else. If you want anything other than oil done there ALWAYS get a second opinion. They recommended ~$3500+ tax worth of repairs. When I got a second opinion the 3rd party mechanic told me "It's like we're not even looking at the same car. I don't get how they can justify this". All my car problems ended up fixed under 200 dollars with someone else.
Customer service is absolutely incredible. A few months after a service 3 inspection my car at this location, I had trouble with the engine turning over. I didn't think they missed anything at the service 3 but they were close by my office and I thought I should get them to check.
Turns out the battery happen to have a single faulty cell. They recommend I replace the the battery but only if I felt the battery's current condition was (still usable) more trouble than it's worth. They didn't even charge me for the check up. Even offered a shuttle service and a wash.
They're also very attentive to my car's condition sending reminders regarding recommended maintenance base on the owner's manual despite not purchasing my Elantra here.
In summary: Came in for an inspection that would should have cost me but they decided to waive it. Clearly stated the condition of my car and gave me options on how to proceed. Went above and beyond expectations.
Would definitively recommend others to purchase / service from here.
I would give 0 star if it allow. Start of by saying it was great when purchasing everything was OK no problem, but hell brick lose when receiving the vehicle.
We only had 2 simple requests but both was disappointment. First we asked to see the exact color that we wanted, end up wrong and was told that the only shade of the color. Second was lisence plate, we didn't want few numbers was told "OK, we will make a note of it". Got called we can get the vehicle EARLIER than expected, and when we got there it was a plate we don't want then was told they can't control it. Then was told another customer is still waiting to get a better plate so why was we called early when we can also wait for the plate.
So if you have any request for your purchase, keep in mind your request will be ignore when they process the vehicle. Then safe their behind by saying that they can't control it or that the one and skip the topic.
We walked in not knowing we would purchase a car that evening, but we left with a Santa Fe 2017. We were sold by the great customer service provided by SPENCER. He knew his stuff and helped us find the perfect car for our family. We are grateful to Spencer, Thomas and team for the amazing hospitality and informative consult. Also, Martin the assistant service manager was extra helpful in getting everything prepped for the departure of my new car. Thank you Hyundai!
I have been to Scarborough Hyundai couple of days back. Had 0% satisfaction from their service department and customer service. But when I went to Don Valley North, the experience was totally opposite! I could not expect anything better than this. Love it! The service representative Carsen was very very very helpful! I had an engine light on my dash. He said he will get it checked for me, but might take couple of hours. However, he was nice enough to find me a slot and my car was diagnosed within 30 minutes. He was honest. Told me that the service will be free as it falls within my extended warranty package. Just because of his attitude I have decided to give all my business to this Hyundai facility going forward. I am also planning to buy winter tires from em now. ^_^ Little attitude adjustment, honesty and manner takes you far. They are the perfect example of it.
