Writing this review while currently staying at this hotel for a conference.
Hotel rooms are dated and in much need of repair. All furniture is damaged, towels are rough like sandpaper, carpet is stained, bathroom & kitchen appliances/decor are from the early 80’s.
After speaking with the staff, apparently the hotel is set to close next week and be converted to apartments. I guess this explains why it hasn’t been updated or taken care of.

Visited to meet with a family member staying there. Lobby was clean with a friendly atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and were able to give us good recommendations for nearby food.

Great location, walking distance to Stanley Park and English Bay. Suite was nice and grocery store located in mall below for easy access. Rooms are dated, but clean. Front desk staff were very friendly. Parking was an extra daily charge, but we were allowed to park until 6 pm after checkout.

Not a bad stay! I came here for a conference and stayed for two nights. The pool is indoor and kept at a good temperature. It's got a lot of chlorine, so make sure to bring goggles. There's also a hot tub and a sauna each for guys and gals. My room was nice and had a good view, very spacious, and even had a small kitchen! The staff was always friendly and I even got offered complimentary bottled water and chocolates at my door the first night. My only real gripe is that the WiFi was very spotty, often losing connection, and not very fast. They just need to add some repeaters, or more of them.

Cons:
Very dirty and smelly. I could smell the strong odor every time I walk in the room. The bathroom and appliances are really old and need renovation. I hardly could sit on the sofas as I could see stains all over them.
Lots of creepy homeless folks close to the hotel.
It's truly overpriced for what you get.

Awesome beach and Vancouver city views from the upper floor rooms. Excellent location.
But the hotel itself it quite rundown. I think it is slated to be demolished and replaced by condos.response / report this review -

It was a nice hotel for a good price. Location was fantastic. Plenty of great restaurants nearby and beach just down the street. The staff was great and upgraded us complimentary. The room was kind of warm without central air but the staff was accommodating and provided a working, portable unit.

If you are looking for a VALUE hotel, this is itotherwise keep looking. Wifi is virtually non-existent in guest rooms (unless you stand by your door, facing the right direction). Beds were on rollers and the only free outlets are a power strip by the "desk" which is just a table with the TV on it really. I actually had to move the plug for the TV to the power strip because it was plugged into an apparently dead outlet. Bathroom smells strongly of mildew and the AC unit is a mobile unit crammed right next to a bed..sucks to be whoever gets that bed! The major positive (read: the only reason it didn't get 1 star) is the incredible view and balcony, it is truly spectacular. If you are just looking for a place to sleep and shower, it is fine, but spend the rest of your time elsewhere.

The view from the 30th floor was simply amazing. You get to see the beach/bay and Stanley park, it is stunning. You're paying for the view. The room had a full kitchen and a sofa bed which was great. We made our own breakfast one day. Additionally there are a lot of restaurants near the hotel, you can pretty much just walk everywhere and it is fine. The actual rooms ares a little outdated, but then you see the view outside and you forget about it. Definitely a hotel experience you want to enjoy again.

With all due respect, the staff is very friendly and very informative. Although I expected more from the kitchenette as it could have provided a bit more utensils and equipments such as paper towels, sponge to wash the dishes with (unless the house keeper takes care of that), utensils were quite dirty as well so we ended up buying paper plates and plastic cutlery. Its a decent spot to stay for the night! Its nearby stores and restaurants and an ocean view is always a plus. Overall a fairly decent stay.

I stayed overnight in a budget family room. Location is great, cleanliness was not too bad. The room was spacious but everything in it was a bit outdated. But it did have all amenities that I needed.

A wonderful time in the perfect location. I was able to walk everywhere I needed. The room was very clean. If you can look past the retro feeling of being back in the late 80's, then this is perfect. It fit my needs for my business trip.

Nice hotel right smack in the heart of downtown Vancouver. The suite room we stayed is on high floor with 2 balconies which offer superb view of the city. Checking in was the most refreshing. Jonathan at the front desk has been the most wonderful. I enjoyed the conversation with him. I was thoroughly impressed by his knowledge and genuine interest of Singapore where we came from.

The staff was amazing, but the hotel really needs some updates and an "identity". Great views of the city and walking distance to a lot of cool restaurants/pubs. Big rooms, but outdated and in need of some repairs/upgrades. Can be noisy too with elevator traffic and near by guests. The kitchenette is great, but I could smell food from other guests.
