Good parking and room/street access. Studio apartment nicely decorated with convenient layout. Staff accomodating. Lack of Pay TV (due to WiFi issue) a problem.

On arrival at Quest Brighton on the Bay, I could have been easily mistaken for having arrived in Siberia. Not a soul to be seen. Instead, a sign on the front counter asking to call a service number which did not connect to anyone or anything, other than a voice recording. After a quick cigarette and coming back, ringing again before deciding to take it upon myself to walk the corridors (whilst still on the voice recording), I found someone to speak with. Unfortunately, this was not a staff member of Quest, instead it was the lovely lady from Endota Spa. She seemed shocked at the non-attended front counter, although did try to assist in finding someone for me.

When finally the check in attendant did arrive, we (my partner, and three other patrons checking in) were confronted with a ringing phone, which was answered and attended to before acknowledgement of the five breathing humans standing in frustration in the foyer area. A total disregard for the 25 minutes wasted from the time we first set foot on the desolated premises, was not acknowledged. On hanging up the phone, the receptionist fumbled her way through the check in process, several times needing to pause to check for the correct information to be passed on. She then proceeded to inform us of the $17/night parking fee which was news to me. Nowhere did I read or see this charge in the booking process, and nowhere have I found this in any correspondence since.

Alas, we were able to make our 7:30 dinner date at Big Pig Little Pig (a great establishment of American BBQ meat varieties). In showering, both my partner and I were in total disbelief of the pressure of the shower. I actually contemplated lighting up a ciggie in the room to activate the emergency sprinklers to wash the soap off of me.

Overall, the room was neat and tidy with a cute little kitchen set-up, which the missus made the best of in cooking up some poached eggs in the pan. The two king singles pushed together allowed for a comfortable enough sleeping spot, particularly after numerous froffs and vodka, lime sodas.

Placed in a great location on Beach Rd in Brighton, it was convenient for us to get from the accommodation to Moorabin, St Kilda and the CBD each night. If the check-in process was more efficient, the shower pressure was at the minimum standard for rinsing off the Brighton salt air and despair of a spilled $4.50 small coffee, I would definitely recommend for future stays. Unfortunately, for the equitable cost of the rooms, and complimentary parking at accommodation in the city, we likely won't return, instead maybe taking the risk of setting up a tent and risking a $70 fine for camping on the beach itself. Unable to place a 2.5 star rating, I will generously round up to three stars. Kudos to the Uber drivers around the area too - always very quick to pick us up and get us out.

Had to stay here for a work conference. The room had a relaxing quaint feel with all the things you need for a short stay. The quality of the room was great with private mini balcony and nice touches. Would come back again.

If your celebrating anything from a birthday to a wedding or even new years eve, dont stay here. They are rude and threating to call police to escort you out at 1 am on new years eve. Ill never stay here again and advise no one else to do so either.
