The Downing Hotel is a well kept sydney secret. With gorgeous views, and amazing staff and welcoming gust (as it's shared accommodation). I wouldn't necessarily call this place a backpacker hotel, as it has more of a homee fill and only walking distance for the hart of the CBD.

Nice little pub with huge screens to watch sport. Drinks and burgers are cheap ($6 beers, wines) and $12 burgers during Happy Hour (5pm - 7pm).. it does get packed out on a Friday but getting a seat isn't a hassle. Worth checking out for an after work drink and meal

Renovated in early 2016, Hotel Downing is a Quite clean pub, the front bar acts as a sports bar, with plenty of tables, big screens playing Fox Sport, ESPN and sky racing. The back of the bar acting as a pokie room. The top floor acts as a Korean Restaurant.

The new managers of this hotel have done an excellent job of renovating and revamping and rebranding this hotel it far outweighs the old hotel known as strattons. The hotel is clean and being bought into modern times the management and staff are ultra cool and friendly and for you punters out there the tab facilities are excellent with plenty of screens and for sports nuts they show most games on there on big screens. Overall a gr8 place to have a beer and a punt. Well done to the new management group who have taken over
