The admissions and ward staff were all fabulous and very caring people. Post discharge phone support was excellent and very greatly appreciated. Admission time advised was much too early - a very long wait - that was probably down to the surgeon. Overall I feel the Hospital staff well and truly made up for care that was lacking in the surgeon and the anaesthetist. Many thanks Epworth.

I couldn't speak more highly of all the medical and other staff I encountered at Epworth during my recent 2 week stay in the Cato wing. I encountered many nurses over each shift during my stay and the nursing staff were consistently great, caring, patient and knowledgeable. The difference between being a patient and being a client.

Stayed in the Cato wing for 2.5 days last week. I found the hospital staff and nurses were very efficient and friendly. What I enjoyed most about my visit was the poached eggs holendais sauce, sausages, mushrooms, bacon & grilled tomato for breakfast each day. I didn't really want to leave, to be honest.

I am sure some departments are better than.others, some.of the locations resemble old fashioned public hospital. Emergency is great.

Was admitted there after the ABI and rehab for several other injuries. So i can't remember the whole stay there, but when i was moved to the normal ward, the last 2-3 weeks i could remember, all staff the nurses, physios, social workers, psychologists, speech path, to the kitchen staff and the cleaners. All were very friendly and helpful and they all helped me in my recovery. Thanks. And would definitely recommend this hospital.

My husband was recently admitted for day surgery at The Epworth Richmond. He was looked after very well by all staff, the admin processes were handled very efficiently, and he wasn't sitting around waiting for very long. Unfortunately the loss of a star was due to my dealings with staff. Firstly the instructions for the arrangements for picking up my husband weren't adequate. The nurse phoned and told me the time to pick up, and where to park but didn't clearly explain where my husband would be in the hospital at my arrival nor did I have a number to call. Parking is limited to just a few minutes for drop off/pick up so I parked in the street and went back to the admission area to try to find out where my husband was. There was no staff on duty at the admissions desk anymore so I waited several minutes until someone from the admissions area (staff only access) happened to come out. She went off to find out more and then next minute I had a call from the nurse who told me I had to bring the car round to pick up my husband and sprung it on me that I needed to also get his meds from the pharmacy (this is all meant to happen in 15 mins). To cut a long story short, dealing with traffic and parking is highly stressful and and if I'd been been given better instructions on pick up and a phone number, it would have been helpful. When I got to the pick area (without a definite arrangement being made, what was I supposed to do). After all, it is a requirement by the hospital that patients are picked up so staff need to give clearer discharge instructions and have more empathy towards those who are battling the traffic to get to the hospital to pick up the patients.

Absolutely amazing nurses and staff in general, which is what really makes this hospital a standout for me. So friendly and helpful, they all seem to go out of their way to give all patients the best of care.

Very good hospital but can't believe they still have rooms with 4 beds! To make it worse all the beds kept their curtains around so being on the wall side I had no access to daylight. This is a selfish habit that people now do in shared rooms. The hospital should discourage it except when necessary.

Part of paying top for private health is to have a private room. Fortunately I was moved after a day to a private room.

I was admitted in lee wing for 3 days. The nurses look after me very well. I found that staff all over the hospital was very nice, friendly and accommodating. Food served was good.
I will definitely recommend Epworth Richmond to everyone.
Thanks for taking care of me 😊

The nurses were excellent but Epworth only cares for money - over $1k per night for a tiny tiny 4 bed ward, and they charge you for a 3 night minimum, no matter how long you stay.

The woman who was right next to me was throwing up and retching all night long, and whenever the nurse saw I was awake, she would ask if everything was ok. I couldn't say "no, I cannot sleep because of the noise so close to me", because it wasn't the poor woman's fault, it was the hospital's. They should not have put her in a 4 bed ward as she was often crying out in pain. It could not have been good for her recovery, nor that of the other people crammed into the room with her.

My husband is in Epworth for his second operation in 2 years with a 3 to 5 day stay, my daughter was also admitted last year for a day procedure. I am totally blown away by this beautiful place. The staff, the nurses, the doctors, the surgeons all of top quality and kindness beyond. All will go out of their way to accommodate the patient and the family and they do it with love. I could not recommend Epworth Hospital enough and i commend the worth ethic and empathy by all. Our current stay is at the Lee Wing and previously we were the first patient to use new amazing Paediatric section. Thank you for making every experience the easiest one.

I've been admitted here on a number of occasions and the service is always professional and pleasant; rooms are spacious and clean; alternate food menus are available (low calorie, diabetic, vegetarian, kosher, halal option) should the need arise. Nurses are attentive, friendly, caring and happy to have a chat/laugh. A nice private hospital. The ground floor cafe is a little tattered and small and can feel somewhat claustrophobic.

Just left Epworth Richmond yesterday after a hernia surgery.
The staff at Epworth Richmond were outstanding.
Friendly, approachable, genuinely caring they took the time to listen and offer help when they could.
Although you could see how busy they were they still took the time to keep me well informed of my progress.
A big thank you to all the staff at Epworth Richmond who I met along my short stay there.
Keep up the good work and don't let those smiles fade.
