Beautiful grounds, but could use some additional maintenance. We stayed at the village area which is a short walk/drive down the road. Long white sand beach with room for activities and lounging. Nice pool area that was quite busy (Late-January). The sand is quite rough and full of shells. Changing rooms available on the beach or in the bathroom inside the hotel.

The food was wonderful and the staff very attentive. However, the hotel room we stayed in would only have ranked two stars back in the UK, definitely not worth the four stars the hotel had purportedly been given. Don't stay in the Village section!

We visited Al Hamra Residence & Village to celebrate our 2nd Wedding Anniversary and it did not disappoint. We are very happy indeed and would definitely come back here again.

Beautiful ambiance and location, very relaxing and soothing to its guests. Rooms are well maintained, clean and very homey making the customers stay really worthwhile. Staff all around the area are very accommodating and welcoming, ensuring that they provide the customers needs and exceeds expectations.

Would like to commend the following staff for making us happy during our stay - Melody from reception for ensuring that we get a good room location and was kind enough to upgrade us as well. Gene and Agnes from the Village restaurant where we had breakfast. To all the staff at the reception desk who provided all our requests and even surprised us with an anniversary cake which was lovely.

There is a wide variety of activities to choose from enabling the customers to fully maximize their stay. From water activities to just relaxing by the pool. We were very much fascinated with the interiors and architectural designs of the villages/chalets as well as the different restaurants within the area. It made us reminisce of the other countries we have visited and made us feel we were in a different area.

Overall, we are very much happy with our stay and would highly recommend this hotel to our family and friends. Cheers, Al Hamra!

Very quiet place at Al Hamra Villages, friendly staff and an ambiance that reminds you of some old village with it's unique style and wooden furniture. Highly recommend it for relaxation purposes. The residences are busiest but nice clean pools, spacious and there is something for everyone to do

Check in long. Did not offer a seat through the entire process though I was 9 months pregnant. No smile or eye contact. Excellent facilities, OK breakfast. Second time there.

Big apartments with kitchen. Take the suite in the residence, not in the al hamra village. The residence is part of the Waldorf Astoria hotel. The steakhouse there is an absolute MUST. Canadian chief with miraculous hands and very friendly and attentive staff.

Staff was pleasant and courteous. Various activities there and pool for kids. Awesome view of beach from the eighth floor and the beach was very clean. Enjoyed my stay there.

The village standard rooms have no views, but the residence rooms have sea view.
The hotel rooms and lobby are clean and the service is good and fast.
    The breakfast is moderate.
The WiFi is paid only in the room and it costs 80 AED per day which is very expensive.
The rooms are spacious and other hotel facilities are good.
They have 2 swimming pool, spa, and health club.

Overall experience is good and I can give 4 stars.

Very clean, very well organised with guests at the focus, very polite and helpful staff - everyone works as a team. Room is rather tired and ready for renewing but don't let that put you off. Excellent variety of food to suit all cultures + you have free access to the company's hotel and beach on the opposite side of road (3 minutes walk). It isn't a 5 star hotel and doesn't pretend to be; very family friendly and being not too big, a perfect environment for rest and relaxation.

Even though we booked our stay in advance, room was not ready, so we had to wait more then 30 minutes at our arrival. Because we were excited about our stay, we decided not to let this thing bother us but only until we discovered that WiFi in room was not free, but chargeable 80 aes per day. Upon ordering meal, 30 minutes waiting turned to be over an hour. Kitchen in room without any dishes.
Only positive thing was kind staff, and in that name beat regards to Mr. Patric.

The accommodation in the "village" part of the resort is quite basic but clean and ok to stay. All the facilities (pool, beach, restaurants, bars) of the residence and the village are shared and accessible to all guests. The quality and variety of food was great and in my opinion the strongest point was the caring and ready to help staff. Especially one of them named Yeti (in case management reads this and wants to reward those making the stay enjoyable). Weaker part was the animation program, with no ability to attract crowd to whatever activity even from the minimum that was offered and playing really dull pop music. The paid activities like boats were overpriced (or not not available at all because of damaged sailing boat) and it was annoying that the hotel shuttle to Dubai was fully booked since our arrival to the end of the stay and the reception even haven't considered doing something about it. Summary: It was a good holiday.

They need to be more organized; we checked in today and they told us they have no crib for 1 year old baby!!! We booked by booking.com and they have it clear in the booking that our baby is 1 year old!!!
So how it comes that they didn't prepare that for him?!!!
They should know that they are in high competition in UAE ; and customer satisfaction is a high priority in this country.
We tried it ; we will never be back again

Extremely uncooperative staff from juniors to managers in hospitality industry. They were stringent on their stupid policies to accommodate an extra bed for our mother because they actually wanted to make money & forced us to upgrade the room at the higher price. We placed several request but from juniors to seniors all were ridgid on thier senseless policy. We have stayed more than 100 hotels & this is the Worst place to have a stay with family between uncooperative & unethical staff! I got stuck with them as they either would let us upgrade at double price or if we cancel , we loose all our money. They trap you to earn more money from you. Worst hotel experience. I wish I read all the comments before making the booking.

First of all we were reserved to a sister concern but they accommodated us here and even gave us an upgrade. The staff helped to keep us well-informed. The rooms were quite clean and the washrooms were speck and tidy. The beds were well made giving us that wow-factor. We stayed at the Single bedroom suite that had kitchen and a separate bedroom with 1 toilet and 1 washroom. We had a view towards the beach that was breath taking and we stayed at the 7th floor. No air conditioning issues were found, we stayed during the hottest August days.

Stayed at the Village. No air conditioned spaces unless you went to Reception or got the shuttle to the Residence, but no lounge areas there either unless you sat outside the dining room. You walked down stairs from your room and straight out of the hall into the stifling heat. Rooms were okay but rather tired with not much drawer space and no luggage carriers. Bed was comfortable. Staff were helpful and friendly. Pool looked okay but no shade and the sunbed cushions were filthy and disgusting looking. Taxis readily available to take you to the Al Hamra Mall for 6AED about £1.30. We wouldn't stay there again.

We stayed at the residence, we received an upgrade, as the original booking was at the village. Al Hamra residence is located at Al Hamra island, the location is magnificent, starting from the entrance you can see the golf club and golf course, a water canal green landscapes, then you arrive to the residence, nice welcome from the start, swift checking in with some refreshments. Mr kinneth and jenice from front desk were very friendly, professional and very helpful.
The view is amazing when you stay at higher floor, the rooms very quite and comfy. The beach is owsem, clean, huge, and is open to the horizon, you can see the fish while walking a long the beach. The restaurant at ground floor is very good, very a tentative staff, breakfast was good.
There are three pools at the residence, one with 2 meters depth, and one with 1.2 meters increasing to 1.5 meter, the third one is for small kids, 0.5 meter; all the three pools are temperature controled.
There is a kids club that offers activities for kids.
The beach, the view, the friendly staff and the price are the landmark for the hotel.
