The Sandton Sun is easily the byword for luxury and sophistication. The hotel makes a striking impression from the moment you walk in, with a dramatic 10 metre-high wall fountain acting as the background for rich wood tones and plush carpets. The African theme can be visible through subtle undertones and decorations, which proves to be elegant and true-to-location without being overbearing. The rooms are also plushly appointed, with the white and silver bases being complemented by colorful paintings and decorative pillows. The bathroom are also beautiful, and the customisable shower settings added yet another level of attention to the individual client. Breakfast at the San restaurant is also a treat. Begin with the multitude of cold choices, from fresh fruits to charcuterie (the butter fish was delicious), before continuing to the wide array of hot dishes. But what truly set the experience apart was the service. Everywhere you turn, there is a friendly staff member who is ready to assist you. This was not just present in the restaurant, but also at the concierge, check-in, and room service departments. Bravo to the Sandton Sun!

Not the best place to sleepover on the weekends. Rowdy weekend crowd visiting the central bar keep you up at night with their raucous laughter and talk. Otherwise a great place with spacious rooms, great service and hospitality.

The restaurant makes the best mushroom risotto in JHB and they have excellent service with convenient parking. It's a bit of a maze to walk through and find - you may get lost on your walk about so don't be shy to ask someone for directions or to confirm you're headed in the right direction.

My son and I stayed in the hotel for a week in August 2016. What a great hotel and destination. Our rooms were spacious, clean and tidy. Everything worked, and all our needs were met. A few glitches with the internet access, but immediately sorted out by the helpful staff at reception. The pool deck was a lovely place to meet with friends. The shopping in the attached Sandton Sun Shopping Centre, was fantastic. The variety of restaurants just a short stroll within the shopping centre, gave you a lot of choices. Well done to the staff and a beautiful hotel. Will certainly go back for another visit.
