Outstanding! My husband Mark and I had the most incredible night celebrating our 38th Wedding Anniversary. We went to my favorite place in South Africa the romantic Illyria House Boutique hotel which is like stepping in to paradise in Pretoria. This place is like a dream come true in terms of romance and luxury. Everything looks like an ancient castle and we were treated like absolute royalty with our own butler who gave us impeccable service. The beauty of the place is so special that I took some videos to capture this incredible place. We were offered dinner in the romantic Wine cellar by candle light but we chose to sit on the airy spacious patio overlooking the luscious garden. Every time my husband and I visit Illyria we see the improvements and more beautifully painted murals and unusual decor that just keeps getting better with every visit. The fresh smell of orchids was enchanting and I really loved our very special honeymoon night in such a magnificent setting . I cannot wait for an excuse to go back. The heated swimming pool was so relaxing and so comfortable to swim in even though it was evening and the incredible meal of perfect cordon blue cooking was one of the best meals I ever had. I highly recommend this beautiful hotel.

Absolutely charming, the setting is almost magical. The staff are extremely courteous and polite. The scent as soon as you enter in mesmerizing rooms are comfortable. Truly a treat.

Horrible Mothers Day experience !!!

Food was disgusting and just thrown together (especially having to tell them what we would prefer to eat on the Friday before) and still getting the order messed up!!!

Horrible service!!! Took ages to bring food and drinks

We celebrated my friend's babyshower there on Sunday afternoon. When looking at the pictures of the hotel online the garden looks much bigger than it is, but it is perfect for a quaint event. We had lots of fun and the food was really great! Try the butternut soup. The rooms upstairs were also amazing. The lack of parking and the steep slopes are a bit challenging and the entrance was a bit of a mission to navigate to. But all in all it is a great venue.
