Paid for Christmas lunch well in advance, but on the day my name wasn't on the list, the manager/owner handled the situation horribly. Food wasn't all that great. Wouldn't recommend this place even for free

I was skeptical at first but then as the night went on, i was totally satisfied as I left with a full stomach amd sleepy eyes. Not only was the food excelent, but we didn't had the time to wait for it which is great!
    I recommend this place.

I’m from the NYC and am visiting J-burg for the first time. We met up with some family members here after they recommended this place. Service and ambience was great. The food was to die for. I had the prawn and chicken curry that was the best curry I have eaten. My wife had the oxtail stew and she said it was the best meal she has eaten in S.A. Highly recommend this place.

We visited the place with an International delegation of 40 people. We were given an exclusive area with few wonderful service staff who looked after us for the evening. The food was just amazing and out of this world busting with flavors and freshness. Keep up the good work guys. 👌🏾

Tourists like me will be tempted by the appearance of this place - after all, when we come to South Africa we want to actually experience a little bit of the culture. Sad to say though, the food is terrible or at least mine was. There are lots & lots of staff all hanging out but you simply can't get any service and even have to go to hunt down someone to pay and they make that a chore as well! It would probably be very easy to eat and abscond but the food simply isn't worth it
The only positive thing I can say about Moyo is the woman offering a little face painting - it was lovely, thank you!

Fantastic place to come whether for romantic reasons or just with your friends. Live music, exceptional food, and face painting for everyone involved. Highly recommended

Had a couple of problems here with the food, but the atmosphere is good and the drinks are great.

Went there for lunch on a Thursday. Ordered two burgers. Despite there being no one else, food took nearly forty minutes. And it wasn't worth the wait. Had the foulest tasting burgers ever. McDonalds and Steers' burgers win hands down. Patty tasted strange - heavily processed stuff in there besides mince. "Pumpkin bun" was dry. Chip wedges were hard. Service was friendly though. But absence of any patrons should have warned us!

Had a great African experience. My wife loved the face painting and great wine selection. The food was out of this world and I would recommend it to any tourist looking at great South African Hospitality.

We were encouraged to visit Moyo to introduce our 5 year old daughter. The food was good not great. But our server was great and did a wonderful job making us feel welcome.

Don't get fooled by the atmosphere!
Quality of the food is below average. Waited for 1h for the food to be served cold, the meat was not grilled as requested (well done instead of medium) and even presentation of the meat was not appealing. When ordering wine, was not advised that the wine in the list was out of stock, ending up ordering twice just because the wine selected was not available. For all of this, they charge average of R150 per person excluding service charge. We are not coming back for sure!

The restaurant is meant to show an African eat-out experience but it's table placement is too formal if one is looking for an African ambience. The food is good but the menu needs a bit more order in respect of the type of African dish one is eating.

    Not so wow

A waiter there by the name of Faith has no sense of customer service none whatsoever. We ordered a meal and it arrived 40 minutes later with no apology and we are told there was a function so the "stove"was busy.
No courtesy to come and tell us what's going on throughout the wait.

This happened on the 26th of November 2016 we were there from 20:30 and decided to take the meal as a takeaway instead.

On a lighter note the place is generally welcoming, I like the idea of patrons being offered blankets when sitting on the tables outside at night.

    The food is also great.

Never seen such variety in one restaurant.
    Curio shop is available.

Staff are ready to paint your face, sing and dance to make your stay enjoyable and memorable. Great to take photos with them!

It has multiple areas of seating and a live band area.
Also a smoking lounge and underground seating with a unique water feature. (go take a look!)

They even serve your steak on a shovel, yes it's clean but what an african experience!

Take your friends and family - the place has an attitude which is larger than life and will not disappoint.
