Pros: Good location, excellent service,close to main hiking trails and attractions.Staff very obliging. Very clean and property is well maintained.Rooms refurbished and spacious
Food quality good but variety somewhat limited
Cons:
Lacked an entertainment programme over the Easter weekend.
Rooms didnt have a bar fridge

Been a nightmarish experience, coming in here. Firstly the front office staff serves us no information about the breakfast timing and other details.
We carry our two bags ( with absolutely no assistance ) from the parking lot.
The key fails us and we are stranded outside. It's been three times since they have checked on getting us into the room and now we are informed that we need to change our room.
We can't find their Manager around and feeing completely let down by the Orion group of hotels here.
I will definitely recommended a NO on this place. It can really dampen the goodness Drakensberg has to offer.response / report this review -

Very nice and comfortable rooms as long as the big frogs around the pond does not disturb you (maybe only a problem in the early summer). Excellent location if you want to do some trekking or other outdoor activities in the area. Nice views of the landscape and Drakensberg in the background. The restaurant is OK but could be improved as the food was a bit unimaginative.

Great chalets. Friendly staff. The place doesn't offer much to do though so you'll have to get your entertainment from other sites nearby. This place is great if you just need to get away from home to read a book and enjoy fresh air.

The deluxe room is good but the standard room are ok. There are hiking trails. View from deluxe room is good. Restaurant, bar facilities are there. Most of the game in kiddies play room doesn't work. Had a bad experience where there was a bug on the bed and they just said sorry

Stayed in upgraded chalet, beautiful views and furnishings, ask for the lower chalets. Checking in slow, but otherwise great views and great pool. Lovely spot

Great location and awesome views of the Berg. The staff was friendly. The cleanliness of the rooms is a concern. We were a group of 6 and we all observed the same cleanliness issues. The room access cards had to be programmed daily and we were only informed after so much frustration trying to open to the rooms and had to walk all the way back to the reception to have the problem sorted. Management to sort out all these small issues which can end up chasing customers away.

Standard has dropped since our last visit. Food variety is poor lots of stuff are out of stock and not available like jam, syrup for flap jacks, milo, hot chocolate.
When asked to see the manager.. she hides in the office.

The hotel was overall good - however some services were not very timely, namely the cleaning services (they may only get to your room at around 3pm which is unusual in my book - usually 12 is expected, and they never picked up our dishes outside our room from room service for 2 days). The manager and receptionist were very welcoming and responsive - always asking if things are ok. Other than that the rooms are quaint - clean - which water saving in mind - has a big screen low res tv - just read a book :) or bring a laptop if you really keen on watching other things rather than beautiful scenery. Breakfast was included with our package but other meals need to be paid for - lunch is run like a restaurant - breakfast and dinner buffet style - food was good but don't expect super healthy options - there's fruit, salads etc
The view is stunning! There are many things to do nearby, there's a pool, games room, playgrounds, tennis court, giant (worn) chess and putt putt. There are baboons nearby so be aware and close doors/windows when you're not outside. Overall good place for a small budget.response / report this review -

Dropped in for a drink -the espresso machine was broken, no Flying Fish to drink and milk shakes were provided at a push. Pleasant enough inside but these things need to be a given if you're a 4 star hotel

Beautiful hotel with an amazing view. Food and service are great. Some things could use a little more maintenance but overall best hotel of our round trip by far.
