After paying R250 just to visit the hotel at 2 different checkpoints you expect a certain level of service. Buffet was weak and food was room temperature. Staff are completely uninformed on how the menu works and weren't much help.

Their Buffet was not actually a Buffet but a self service, meaning you can only have one item and pay for that. This place needs some serious management and staff training.

Views were amazing but that's about it.

The road to the hotel is horrible. There is one way in and out and feels like driving through an unsafe area. However the room were very beautiful and staff are very friendly but after the first dinner, you realize that you are an hour and half drive from any other types of food. The food are same each night. If you do not enjoy hiking or golf, there is pretty much nothing to do. I am an animal lover and saw beautiful cats with broken paws that torn me to pieces, as they were to afraid to let me close to try and see if I could help. I feel that with such a big hotel, there would be animal feeders and water. This would really make a difference in there lives. The hotel are beautiful and very calming.

It was a lovely time and fantastic food. The only thing that could be improved upon is the access for disabilities. My mom has great difficulty climbing stairs, but really wanted to get to the dining room to choose her own buffet. It took two people each time to get her there and back. Otherwise the facilities are great and relaxing and beautiful.

Fantasic stay, with some small imperfections, which made it perfect in creating a authentic warm stay. Cathedral Peak Hotel is suited as a getaway to just relax and recharge your batteries, but also offer a magnitude of activities, catering for both the fit, and the not so fit to eliminate any chance of boredom. On offer is some of the most beautiful scenery in South Africa, by taking a walk to discover waterfalls; exploring on horseback or just from the hotel room window. I will recommend them, no matter what you need out of your holiday.

Amazing getaway for the whole family or just a couple.

Wide diversity of activities from horse riding, hiking, golf, quad biking to board games, games room and cold and hot pool.

Our just chill in the lounge or one of the two bars with majestic views of the Drakensberg mountains.

Three's a reason this place has regulars. If you want access to awesome hiking routes and quiet luxury, this is the place. Also the food is great. If there's trout, skip the stir - fry. Seriously.

Totally worth every cent - the view of the Drakensberg is one of the best I've seen, the rooms are classic and comfortable with beautiful views and very comfortable beds with great sheets, the breakfast and dinner buffet is incredible and the buck walking around are okay with you watching as you walk past. The massage sadly doesn't come with the same view which seems like a pity, but the therapists were great - we paid R520 each for a full body Swedish massage.

Lovely and Quiet. Upmarket with a campsite. Beautiful hikes like the Bell and The Cathedral, Neptunes Pools and Rainbow Gorge. Quad bikes, horse rides, a golf course and a trout farm make up activities. Helicopter trips are available on request. Wildlife such as Deer, Bambies and Baboons are present and stroll past as you relax and watch the sunset over the mountains.

Beautiful location, the mountains are amazing. Hotel is clean and has WiFi. The food is buffet style with a large variation of cuisines, and very good.

An overall good stay, but left with a negative feeling, after being forced to pay almost R500 for 2 umbrellas that we borrowed from reception. The deposit was not explained when borrowing the umbrellas. We put down the umbrellas at the wedding there - they were most likely returned to the hotel in any case. Soif you do borrow umbrellas make sure you return them, unless you want to take home an overpriced umbrella with Cathedral Peak Hotel emblazoned on it, of course.

Beatiful Scenery. The buffet meals are very good and offer loads of options. Tea time snacks are good as well. There are quite a number of things to do if you enjoy the outdoors.

Walked to Doreen Falls and had a good time.

It's a beautiful location on the foothills of the drakensberg. The buffet style meals are some of the best I've ever had. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient.

We had sick children and needed several linen changes into the night. No problem.

The hiking and scenery is world class and great for the soul.

We will be back!

Great beautiful place, good food, excellent views and walking trails, friendly staff and very comfortable rooms. Some improvements to breakfast and practical changes in the rooms would make this place unfaltering.

Unbelievable location with unimaginable views!! A definite must.
Breakfast and dinner buffet was brilliant - well thought out different dishes every day. A chef that knows curry needs a little bite.
The staff makes this place - everyone get l greets you as you pass. You'll think you're the king of the castle.

Words can't actually describe the experience here. The hotel itself is wonderful and the buffet food is delicious. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. The golf course was well maintained and decent price for club hire too. And when you get a chance to go out and go for the walks, the views are breathtaking. If you get a chance to go, you won't be disappointed

Absolutely breathtaking. Beautiful place to relax and get away. Such friendly staff and you feel you are constantly looked after. There are many great activities to take part in daily. This is one of my best memories and I'll definitely be back. Last year September I got engaged here and couldn't ask for a better place , thank you to managers and staff who helped.
