This is an amazing place in a stunning area. We stayed in a large house with a view over the fields with horses and other animals passing by. There’s a kitchen in the house but we went for the superb food from the lodge. There's a complementary high tea with cake of the day and a bar with a great selection of drinks. Also as far as activities are concerned it is a great location for old and young people (we were there with 2 boys of 9 and 11). One could go horseback riding with horses from the lodge, hiking with or without a guide to the waterfalls or up the mountains and spot birds and other wild animals. Alternatively one can go all out at All Out Adventures nearby: Trapeze, Bounce, Quad driving and so on. Or fly fishing in the little lake on the premises. Playing tennis is also an option, there is a tennis court on the premises as well. And we could borrow rackets and tennis balls from the lodge. The pool is quite large, nice and clean, with a great view over the area. As all the people at the lodge were very friendly and helpful it made us wanting to stay forever.

Very nice accommodation with amazing view and great service. They will clean your house and grill every day for you. You can also book a horse ride, which I strongly recommend (great horses and guides). There is a very nice pool and area for children as well.

It's great place where you can enjoy delicious and unique food with the best view. Seems first a bit upscale, but the prices are not. (Please note that we just visited the restaurant)

Amazing location, with beautiful views straight from all the separated lodges. Great service from the people here (a family-run location,making it feel warm and friendly) and an incredible cook (by far the best steak I ate in a looong time).
The crowning experiences were the massages and the horse riding: both (very) cheap, and the massage was one of the best we've ever had, anywhere in the world.
Overall: if you ever have the chance to visit Montusi, do not hesitate and go!response / report this review -

Top notch resort, really great accommodation. Beautiful views, nice walks at the resort and close to the Royal Natal National Park for more walks. The food served is of the highest quality and clearly prepared by a chef who takes pride in every plate he serves. Will surely be returning to this family ( 3 sisters) run boutique hotel.

Came here twice for the horse rides but staying here looks like it will be quite a treat. The horses are excellent for beginners and the guides are very patient. Great views. Lovely layout. Would highly recommend staying here. Pricey though.

Nestled below the Drakesberg. Great accommodation and great food. Lot of outdoor activities or just complete relaxation. Also a great adventure park, just 5 km away

Awesome place. The (big) houses are very large with a hearth for the evening and with good view towards the mountains. Everything is clean, staff is friendly. Dinner is very good. It's only a short drive to the Royal Natal national park. The only (very small) critique I'd have is that wireless is only available in the main building. You shouldn't need it here for anything than giving this place a five star rating on Google ;)
