Fantastic local pub with great grub, cold beer and very friendly and efficient waiters. Not child friendly but often used by mountain bikers after a ride on Table Mountain. Easy to watch your bike.

By far one of my favourite restaurants. The lunch specials are amazing and the waiters are friendly. The food is always top notch and the atmosphere is inviting. I recommend Barristers to all my friends and family.

Brett our waiter, gave us fantastic service. The Camembert burger was lovely. Excellent Kahlua Dom Pedro.

One of Cape Town's nicer pubs with a great selection of food & drink on offer. They are famous for their chicken schnitzel with Barristers sauce which I can totally understand why! It's old school Tudor decor & many nooks and crannies make this a top English pub to visit or watch sport at. Also one of the very few decent pubs to offer a well poured Guinness!

The pub only opened at 11am I got there at 10h45. The manager/owner welcomed me in they took my order got my food at 11h02. Most places would say we not open come back at 11. It's a very nice place they have a pub lunch for R65 and you get to choose from so much two entire pages of the menu dedicated to the pub lunch menu. I ordered my standard meal at a new place the chicken burger simply because if the chef messes up a chicken burger I don't trust him or her with anything else and I have to say I was not disappointed at all. Will have visit again when it's a bit more lively and later in the day to try some of their many craft beers on tap.

Food was really good. Service was quick and with so many on draft beers it will always be a winner. Pub lunches at R65 are also brilliant and inexpensive. Large portions and great service makes this a must visit restaurant.

Steak (cooked to perfection), ribs(sooooo much food), beer (great local), wine (300ml carafe), cooked and served to perfection. Friendly staff. Awesome night out.

Easily Top 5 for steak in Cape Town! Lovely, traditional fancy restaurant, with an extensive menu. Additionally, it’s a great traditional pub with a great bar. If you come for sport, try and book in the projector room!

Always a pleasure to come here, food good, service good, prices just right - a top venue in the Southern Suburbs
21/03/2016 There again, brilliant yet again, will be back again - simple!
23/04/2017 Back there again and again, never a bad moment, well done guys
20/08/2017 Consistently excellent, this time in the Grill Room, nothing to complain about at all.

Good food at a good price. Live music is always nice (we were there was a sax player and guy on keyboard). As with any restaurant, you can have good and bad service (we have had both, a few times)

My favourite local! Pub culture isn't big in SA so I really appreciate Barristers. Inexpensive, but quality food, cold pints, a great selection of wine and local liquors to tickle your fancy. Pop by for a R65 pub lunch (steak, egg & chips, bangers & mash, schnitzels, etc.) or book a table in the back restaurant for a wider menu. Jazz on a Sunday evening to wind the weekend up, great spot, well priced, good service. 👌🏻

Barristers have the most delicious ribs in town! They are juicy and so soft not too hard but perfect! I am truly a satisfied customer, the staff is also amazing.. so sweet and kind. Can't wait for my next visit!

We arrived later in the evening for dinner, after peak time, but the kitchen still turned out a deliciously delicate Norwegian salmon-based pasta dish and an equally balanced prawn pasta. Prices are reasonable, given the exceptional quality of the food, but unfortunately our waiter was a bit aloof. Highly recommended none-the-less, as the rest of the staff were great and the manager checked in on us twice.

Lovely food. Steak was amazing. Only thing is when I asked for the bill. After leaving generous tip I asked the waitress if I could possibly keep the pen as I'm travelling I needed one to do some personal accounts on paper She said "pens comes to a premium"..so walked out without it! Are pens really that precious in SA?! very sad. Not even a thank u for the tip!

Pretty good food and a well portioned R65 lunch menu. I have noticed several incidents of racism occurring in the restaurant. Particularly I have seen the manager treat the Hawkers and car guards as well as some of the other staff members really badly.

Barristers is an amazing huge restaurant and provides a great vibe reminiscent to Hussar Grill. The menu is amazing with a wide range of food from seemingly different cuisines..
The lunch time menu is to die for. With meals starting at 65 Rand per meal as of January 2016, these meals are the best way to get into the Barristers atmosphere. The concierge and waitresses were amazing and I would recommend this food any day!
