Totally unexpected. This girl from Obs was pleasantly surprised to find such an unexpected treasure in the industrial area near Cape Gate. The butternut and feta quiche, and the carrot cheese cake, were delicious. Cappuccino was excellent. The decor is uniquely chic and literally everything is for sale. Cleverly designed displays and wonderful groupings of old and new treasures. Wandering round Boere Sjiek is a party for your eyes a visual feast of note.

We spent 3 relaxing hours at Boere Sjiek today.
From the minute we walked in, the beautiful ladies were so kind and helpful. Two of ladies in our party walk with the aid of walkers. They need room to manoeuvre, park their wheels and have comfortable chairs to sit on.
The couple at a large table were asked if they would move to accommodate us and very kindly did.
Boere Sjiek is an Emporium of glitz, glamour and memories of your Grandma's house.
Wildly decorated hats are available to wear at the table , take photos.guaranteed to raise a giggle.
Delicious cakes, quiches and salads are on the menu.
You don't even have to decide whether or not to have cheesecake or carrot cake; they are available in a layered combination .other flavours also available.
Delightful smaller versions are available as cupcakes ( single flavours )
The quiches are heavenly combinations of flavours . You can choose with or without salad.
I think I've said enough.

Nice enough inside. Although we were made to feel unwelcome as after we ordered our second drink they brought us the bill without us asking. Thus effectively making us leave.

I love this place. Everything's so beautiful and there is so much to see that it will take a few trips. Their ways are tasty and reasonably priced. Staff is very helpful and efficient. Walking into this place makes for a spectacular surprise.

A cup of tea, from an antique cup and saucer, apfel kuchen and the soft music brings me back here time after time. Incredible cakes and tea. Almost everything is for sale from antique crockery to silver, various handprinted cloths, feathers, hats, furniture or just come to experience yesteryear or play the piano. Just know that you leave with a different heart from here.

Atmosphere was nice but if you tend to be on the clumsy side, not the place to visit Definitely not child friendly. Might also pose a challenge to look around If you're in a wheelchair. Good variety of delicious cakes and quiche.

Was recommended to this place for a quick brunch. We sat down with nobody else at tables. When other clients arrived they got served and in a period of 10min 3 sets of clients were helped, while we were ignored. Menus laying on the tables, no drinks in front of us And nobody asking if we would like something. As nice as the decor was to view, not a place I'd revisit or recommend. Sorry

This is a very interesting place to stop at for a quick bite including a quick shop. The decor inside is amazing and it has a bit of an antique theme to it.
I won't spoil the surprise 😀 definitely a must for everyone to stop there to check it out.response / report this review
