Really nice place. Glad they using borehole water for the pools ( not the most appealing visual- but it's safe to swim in) nice and quiet place for family outings, staff members are friendly and helpful. Price per person is debatable.
Would recommend the place for day visiting.

I am glad we are not the only ones who were deceived by pictures on internet.
We booked online for 20 people amd paid a deposit of R12000 , including kids. Upon arrival we were shocked at the filthiness of the place and the surrounding. There was no we could keep our families there.
The manager on duty could not assist us and when we insisted on speaking to the owner she refused and told us to rather send an email, which we did and she did not respond and later opted on communicating to us through her "so" called lawyer 3 days later telling us we will not get a refund as it part of their policy.

We had to look for an alternative place to sleep for the night while make arrangements for the next day and the remainder of our 10 days stay in Cape Town.

We have since since taken the matter with our and have reported them to relevant authoristies to question how they could be operating under such conditions and if there is any accreditation/licencing with the giing, hygiene and safety concerns we found.

We need make sure that this is closed down and no victims ever.

We are shocked to note that she has refunded others but refused to admit that the place does meet the standard as advertised and refuse to refund us.

I will post the correspondence from the lawyer shortly.

PLEASE EVERYONE MUST STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE

For the amount charged person person person day the facilities is very bad, the toilets are filthy and the braai areas needs to be attended to, the place is all and all filthy. I will never complain about the pool because with the water restrictions it's all ok. But the place needs to be attended to or drop the daily fees. I doubt that the management at Zonnekus Holiday Resort knows what it is to run a place like that. Won't recommend my friends to go.

Definitely not a holiday atmosphere, place looks total different from the idea the photos gives you. Most camping sites are rented out to permanent residents, who have build little plots. We felt uncomfortable with the idea of staying there or leaving our belongings there for the day. Must commend the management for refunding us without any problems, when we decided to rather find another place to stay.

My experience encountered with the owner is that she have no etiquette. She has no way of approaching people. Her attitude is plain bombastic..which stinks of "baaskap" mentality. Their advertising of the facilities and the terrain for campers is misleading, as they only focus on the front of the place, but the camp site looks like a dump. The shower facilities really needs an upgrade.
During my visit, I did not observe any lifeguards or lifesaving equipment around the two pools.which serves the campers and day visitors.
Wonder how they can get away with such an important safety regulation????

Worth the visit, strict rules make it a pleasant experience.

The area around the main pool is fairly well maintained with fixed upgraded umbrellas. The lawn around it is dying of drought. The play area and facilities for children area very well maintained. It is a pleasant place for a day visitor.
As far as the chalets are concerned ,it is in dire need of upgrading outside and inside and too expensive for what is available.
The camping sites are well laid out but there are no grass due to Eucalyptus trees preventing its growth. The ablutions everywhere definitely need tiling and beautifying. I am told by the permanent residents that it is a great lifestyle and that the security at night is first class.
The maintenance of the place, up to now, show poor workmanship e.g the kiddiespool was flooded before the paint was ready for it and the braai facility at the chalets are falling apart-no preventative maintenance can be seen anywhere. Until it is upgraded and a preventative program is visible, use it only for day excursions.

Outrageous deposit-Dirty facilities- Perfect place for your regular Alcoholics!

I was told my chalet deposit wouldn't be refunded back to me, due to 1 wine glass having broke??? WTF!!

THEY CARE ONLY OF PERMANENT RESIDENTS NOT GUESTS!!!
    THIS PLACE IS A JOKE!
    NOT A RESORT..

WAY TO MANY RULES AND OBLIGATIONS!!

Substandard abolition facilities i.e. clogged run off drains that seep sewerage back up into the shower drains when taps are at high pressure, guests share 2 bathrooms between as many as 100 people at any given time that live on the property, subcontractors, maids, staff etc and above mentioned permanent residents.. HEALTH HAZARD!!

Humongous Falling bluegum tree branches potentially endangering the lives of visitors & the damage of personal property..

Unfriendly inhospitable owner and staff, unpleasant experience.
