What an incredible experience! Loved the lodge, stayed in the hotel section, rooms were super comfortable, meals were delicious, staff were all friendly and the game drives were super fun. Saw lots of animals (big five and much more). Would definitely come back.
The only area for improvement is to have more staff at the buffet especially when all the game drive guests arrive together, the queues can get long and the staff are working super hard so more would make it a bit smoother!

A Tourist Trap
This is a three star lodge at best trying to keep five star prices. The rooms have had the ‘lipstick on a pig’ treatment and the signs of slapstick half efforts of renovations and upgrades are evident everywhere in the room.
The pool was nice, the food and buffet seemed fine, most of the staff were friendly and helpful… but not worth the prices they charge per night for sure.
Would not come again.

By far the best getaway ever!!
The staff, food, rooms, game drive and facilities are outstanding.
My partner enjoyed his birthday weekend to the max, the Boma dinner was an amazing experience. Our game drive was fun and very informative.
I recommend Bakubung Bush Lodge.

Very special spot, our kids loved the buffet meal option which was delicious and wholesome and plentiful. Good early morning game viewing but afternoon drives were less successful- perhaps too hot to leave at 4pm? Ask for ranger James who is outstanding. All staff, particularly the waiting staff, were friendly and professional

I loved my stay here and the way the animals roam free. Unfortunately it started to rain and I was not able to see as any animals as I would have liked. The dinner was also very tasty

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. The views from the rooms are exceptional, looking over a (fenced) grassy area and drinking pool. Animals will often graze and drink here during the day and sometimes at night too.

Amazing experience! The lodge is great. Breakfast and dinner buffets are delicious. The one night we had a braai in a camp inside the reserve. They make a big bonfire and have dancers + drums. Game drives included during early morning and afternoon. Make sure you go for an awesome massage at spa!

Hotel was neat and tidy. Room service took forever to come. The reception and operator needs training definitely. I would recommend proper training on how to answer and assist on the phone. Otherwise it was a great place

Exotic stay with the wildlife of Africa. We got to breathe in the freshest air every morning, hear the animal sounds every night and enjoy the breathtaking scenery every now and then. Couldn't ask for more. We also had breakfast and dinner there. They served a wide variety of food! Nice and yummy!

Lovely place to stay at when in Pilanesberg National Park. Rooms are big and cozy, guaranteed to make your stay memorable. The open vehicle game drives are the best! The rangers and guides are very knowledgeable and staff are friendly. I really enjoyed the weekend I spent here.

Great location just inside the game reserve gates. Lovely modern rooms with fantastic bathrooms. The food in the restaurant was just right and the staff made the evening just right. We also went on an early morning game drive and were given a good cup of coffee and a rusk to start the day. The game drives were well organised and we saw everything we hoped for. Loads to do and well worth the money. Looking forward to booking here again.

This luxury venue is great for tourists and day trips but it feels more like a hotel than a proper bush lodge. It lacks the personal touch that you get at other smaller private lodges. But the food is good and the service is what you would expect from a luxury hotel.
