I have always preferred sun international, Tsogo sun and last stayed at one exactly two years ago after I got married and today is just after my anniversary.

We paid R5390 for a room at the cascades last minute which I expected to be luxurious yet I was highly disappointed. I specifically asked for two things, 1. if our room had a king size bed which I later found as we were settling down for bed that it was two twin single beds pushed together which is not even level and not a king size mattress and
2. that they provided a cot which that was met.

The moment I walked into the room I said to my husband that this was sub standard for the price and reminded me of a room that we had at marine parade in Durban for R1,290 two years ago, even the bar fridge wasn't modern and old plus I only noticed it was working due to the freezer component.

Most of my bookings have been last minute but I have never been more disappointed in Tsogo sun.
For my family's sake I put on a smile and accepted but then at 22h00 house keeping knocks loudly on our door waking up my 13 month old baby to give us chocolates.
To say I am livid does not cut it as that not 5 star service.

Two years ago we paid below two grand a night at the cabanas and the room was ten times better with a king size bed.

I feel cheated as this room in general is not 5 star standard.
I see a templated response to others negative reviews instead of a heart felt message or proper action as the entire room is old, carpets faded and in general way way Below standard while a standard response is just not good enough.

When one spends so much money on a room there are expectations and if they cannot be met then such rooms should be charged as per its standard.

Disgusted.

Room service waking up my 13 month old child and my wife at 10pm for chocolates. I'm horrified to say this is 5 star service. Come on guys Where's your customer care 10pm at night hell now i'm lived beyond belief

Friendly staffs, and great environment in an secluded "island city" in South Africa.The food were different for my taste. But I think it's cultural taste differences. Shower had great water pressure , with a bit of smell to it, but not too bad It's in the middle of nowhere, so, it's probably from well. Overall, I had great experiences.

Very pleasant, staff are amazing. Rooms are clean and very comfortable . Just some issues with the air conditioning. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.

Last trip to the Cascades was a major disappointment. The experience this time has been brilliant. The makeover has transformed the hotel. The staff are back to their cheerful, helpful selves. The new food court across the way has an excellent selection. Was dreading this trip but have been pleasantly surprised & will definitely be back.

Best place to stay in Sun City in my opinion:
1. 2 min walk to entertainment center.
2. 6 min walk to Valley of the Waves with free access when staying at Cascades.
3. Valet parking.
Stayed at Cabanas previously but this was a whole lot better.

I am generally not a complainer. We just arrived at Sun City Cascades and I had a booking for 3 rooms. When we got to one of the rooms it was not made up. They moved the room and the new room has the light hanging out of the ceiling. The family beds had not been made up. We were then told the pool is under maintenance which was not mentioned at booking or confirmation stage. We asked where the gym is( it's a 5 star hotel) but the said we need to walk to it and it costs R90 a day. I asked if they would waive that fee given no pool. They said no. We then went down for a drink and they said their credit card machine does not work so we need to pay cash. And we could not have a drink or snack in the room as there is no minibar. I don't think that is 5 star??
Anyway hoping the kids will fun. The parents feeling grumpy

Recently visited the cascades pool bar in April 2017. We sat down and waited 15min before a waiter approached us to offer their menu. After waiting so long just to receive the menu, we complained to the manager who did absolutely nothing to speed up the service. We eventually just walked out. Poor management and poor service. Sun city management in general has degraded over the years to the point where it is the worst in the country in my opinion.

Lovely accommodation at the Sun City resort. True 5* treatment from valet parking to plush finishes throughout the hotel. Good breakfast. Staff are very friendly

The gem of Sun City. The hotel is elegant and modern. The most classy in the resort. With stunning rooms a great lobby filled with restaurants and stores. This hotel is joint to the Sun Central. Definitely one of the best at this magnificent resort. This hotel exits to a beautiful garden leading to its stunning warm or cold water pools which lies between mad made waterfalls and Rocks. Be sure to visit this pool available only to Cascades Residents.
