Slightly dowdy hotel still looks like the classic 1970's North Carolina mountain lodge it once was and still is, at least in the historic lodge where we stayed. Only about a mile from downtown Waynesville, it is situated on a beautiful golf course in the mountains, very relaxing and the staff was very nice. Breakfast was included and was pretty good buffet style (though without any variation, day-to-day) that also included a made-to-order omlette bar. Our 4-person room easily accommodated a fold-up cot for a 5th person (at no charge as well - though there was an extra charge for that person's breakfast. This hotel is no W Hotel, and for that, I am extremely thankful. There's also a low-key but populated lounge with a bit of a sports bar vibe. I don't golf, but I understand the fees are very reasonable.

Hands down, this has to be the best value in lodging for the Waynesville area. We will definitely be back again.

Not 3 golf courses, for sure. Donald Ross did original 18. Probably seen it’s best days, but historical value and score ability is high. Amazing views as you’d expect from NC mtns.

Amazing staff. Incredibly courteous and helpful. We had a mountain view and the trees were in full fall coloring. WOW! Truly amazing. Only problem we had was trying to regulate the temperature in the room.

A slightly dated but very comfortable facility. We enjoyed our stay, trying out the city of Waynesville. Staff were all pleasant and friendly. Rained most of the time so we didn't really get a chance to check out the golf, but it looked very nice.

Super nice staff and people. Everything was high quality and the location was right on the golf course. There is free coffee to go in the morning, and the breakfast was great (cooked to order omelets were available). The restaurant serves very good dinner and dessert. Would stay again!

We stayed in the economy rooms. The room was dated but clean and spacious. We also had A balcony overlooking the golf course. All of the staff were friendly and pleasant. Breakfast is really good. Things that may bother some: The rooms are dated. We had a 20" CRT TV that appeared to be from the early 90's. The beds are old and bouncy, but not uncomfortable. The bathroom has no vent. The pool is very small.

We stayed there for one night and had an excellent time. Ate dinner in the restaurant, it was excellent also. Pricing was reasonable too. Overall, very good experience, left impressed. Oh yeah, the breakfast buffet is great and the handmade, served to order ( cooked in front of you) , omelettes are perfect. The omelette chef is outstanding.

Older than I expected but was a wonderful place. Very quaint and all employees were extremely nice and helpful. Breakfast was very good and the bartender, Andrew, was the best! I would definitely recommend to others and will probably return myself.

Hotel is average, rooms have some good size but very dated. Breakfast buffet is not resort quality, more comparable to cheap hotel breakfast. Food at the restaurant is actually pretty good, but the service is atrocious, and not just once. Was at the restaurant at least 6 times in the 5 days we were there for lunch and dinner and never had good service. Golf has 3 nines which is great, they do a good job keeping people moving. Conditions were decent considering all the recent rain and inability to mow/cut/roll. Very short tho and not a whole lot of thought or challenge, can play drivers often with relatively little concern.
