My wife, aunt & I attended a multi-corporate Christmas party, at the Viscount, last night. The staff and the Hotel were amazing. A great time for all who attended.

The photos only show only the improved parts of the facility. The best assets they have are the bartender Sam, and Marcel at the desk

Uncleaned rooms when we checked in, archaic technology, furniture that has never been updated (I imagine because of decades of low occupancy), and event staff booking everything causing the residency to be forced out of the hotel for services that are advertised. Uninformed staff allowing us to believe that laundry services are available only to find that I have to postpone my work schedule to find outside providers because it's the weekend?

WiFi: working in telecom I understand the systems in place. I couldn't load or send emails in the 21st century, let alone steam small videos on social media. Unacceptable.

I hate being this critical, but please get it together! I won't be back if I have any say. The Motel 6 would have been a better option for my money considering

Seeing the hotel's occupancy while I was here, they can afford to update but choose to pinch pennies at the cost of the residency.

Have stayed several times, all have been mediocre. The rooms are spacious but outdated. The beds are comfortable, if you don't like pillowtops. There are little things like holes in the drywall and ripped buttons on the shower curtain that are common. On my most recent stay my crawling baby's hands and feet were black from the carpets. There was also a very strong smell, like they tried to cover up cigarette smoke, we ran the ac for 10hrs which helped a bit. I would never pay full price for this hotel but it's a good option via travel sites. The location is pretty good though, lots of stuff nearby.

I attended the Viscount Suite Hotel on Friday, October 6, 2017 for the LULAC & FBI Community Service Luncheon below is my review of everything from the venue itself to the food:

    Venue:
The venue is located on East Broadway just passed Swan on the North side of the road. It always catches my attention because it has a sign for it's bar and grill- Wilbur's, so I always tend to look in the direction. The hotel has ample parking including a "deck" with overflow space that just a few steps away from the main entrance.

Upon entry there is a small check-in area to the immediate right and to the left there is a gift shop with a nice set-up of complementary fruit infused water. There is a large "atrium" area that is extremely stuffy and considering the amount of people for this luncheon it was super humid. After a number of requests to hotel staff to please increase the air conditioner we were finally told by one individual "the A/C is at full capacity, you're lucky it isn't too hot outside."

    Bathrooms:
As I walked to the center atrium area I noted a men's bathroom and women's bathroom next to one another. To my knowledge, each had more than a few stalls. The event I attended was approximately 1.5 hours and by the end, the entire hallway leading back to the main entranced reeked of sewerlike when you're on the I-10 near Prince! It was utterly disgusting.

    Food:
As with most substantial sized events a chicken dish was for lunch. It was approximately 4 oz in size, partially cooked (mine was a light pink in the center), 3 tablespoons of each side (a starch and a veggie) and only 6 rolls in the basket at the center of the table that sat 10 people. Throughout the 1.5 hour event, my drink was only filled up once even after 3 requests for a refill.

I can positively say that the white cake with raspberry was surprisingly delicious and not dry considering it was sitting out on the table before I took my seat.

    My Verdict:
As a guest, attending for a recipient I was not impressed by the venue, service, nor the food. I doubt that I will return unless it is to have a drink in Wilbur's which appeared to be a pretty kick back place with a friendly bartender (from my observations).

It was awesome! In the room the sheets, pillows, counters, bathroom, the entire room smelled clean and fresh. Staff was great! Breakfast had a wide variety, hot and was maintained very well. Check it was at noon which made our stay even more relaxing without the pressure of having to wake up and rush to get out.
The rate for all of this was $83 for four people, not bad at all
    Thank you Viscount!!!

Great customer service! Proximity to U of A is a huge bonus. The free snacks in the evenjng and the breakfast buffet is a major plus. Room as indeed suites. You enter into a small living room and continue through a doorway to the bathroom and bedroom. The price is much lower than you would expect to pay for the room and amenities. The indoor huge atrium is grand and may even witness a wedding during your stay, as we did. The building is showing its age and the staff was in the process if renovating and repainting different areas. Outdoor pool and jacuzzi along with a small indoor gym is available. Rooms has cold air conditioning which was nice. Overall a great stay! Would return again and again.

Room was dirty!!! We requested a different room and it was also dirty.
Bathroom mirrors had not been cleaned. Carpet had popcorn and wrappers everywhere (both rooms). The breakfast was very impressive. Many choices and very clean!! The Staff were all kind and helpful. Would not stay again, ever. DIRTY ROOMS

Do not stay here! All rooms are out dated. Not only that but let me tell you about how horrible my experience was. I checked in on Friday. When I walked in the room, it smelled like old furniture and was very humid. I thought to myself "maybe it's because the AC in the suite was off." When I sat down on the bed you can feel the mattress springs and both bed were broken on the side where you put your feet when laying down.

In the middle of the night me and my sister woke up covered in RASHES and ITCHING LIKE CRAZY. At 3am I called front desk requesting to change roomsMY ROOM WAS INFESTED WITH BED BUGS. The room they switched me to was also infested with BED BUGS. I woke up the next morning and immediately asked to check out and refund me my money. Steven at the front desk was so sarcastic and rude about the whole situation. Made me feel I was lying about the bed bugs saying "house keeping told him there was no bed bugs in both rooms I stayed at" THE FUNNY THING IS..When he called his supervisor to tell her my story and how I was asking for my money back he said "I guess room 212 has bed bugs TOO"

After getting treated the way I did at this hotel experiencing the worst customer service EVER. I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN.

Stayed here for a convention the past two nights. Super underestimated this place. Great food, great bar and great accommodations. Can't say enough, super staff, rooms and just a really enjoyable stay. Thank you. Will definitely be back.

Where do I even start. If I could give less than one star I would. This place was trash the pictures shown on their site are stock photos. Their rooms are disgusting, Completely disgusting! Beds are rock hard sheets are scratchy. Bed creaks, floors creak. looks like it was furnished in the 80's. It's everything you would expect to see in a horror movie. You're better off going to a motel 6. Or maybe even a freeway overpass at least you won't get bed bugs. Please whatever you do, don't stay here.

I stayed here on business for two days. The hotel was booked for me, so I can't really offer a comparison on pricing or amenities. The exterior of the hotel is nice, and the atrium is pretty (albeit slightly dated). The rooms look partially refreshed with new fixtures and appliances. The bedroom TV was still an older CRT, while the common area was a flat panel LCD. The beds were slightly springy, but comfy. Hotel staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Would certainly stay here again on my next trip.
