Two weeks ago we had to put our sweet dog Chloe to sleep. She had suffered a stroke and couldn't function anymore. We loved our Chloe more than you know. VCA Animal Referral and Emergency Center of Arizona was there for us all the way. We as a family can't thank the staff enough for the care they gave to us and Chloe. We also want to thank you for the card that the doctor had sent along with the signatures of many in the office. You guys are the best and thanks again for helping us through that very difficult day.

We have had four of our Rottweiler's visit this clinic, for various things. Some emergencies. some not, but we get professional, compassionate care whenever we bring our dogs here. The girls at the front are always welcoming and always help answer any questions I may have. The veterinary doctors are top notch, we've seen quite a few with our various visits and we continue to get great care. This VCA is not our primary, simply due to the distance we have to travel to get there, but for any emergency or anything our primary cant perform, this is who we trust with our pets.
Unfortunately recently we lost our beautiful Rottweiler Maggie to cancer, by the time we came to see VCA it was already too late. Before her passing, we brought her here not knowing why her health had declined to not being able to walk in a matter of two weeks. They immediately got us in and took a CT scan that day and gave us the unfortunate news. From start to finish, the care we got was amazing. The doctor kept in touch with us and even went as far as to research if there was ANYTHING that could be done, but we ultimately knew what had to happen. My father took our beloved Maggie in and he was treated with compassion and the utmost care for Maggie. The tech even went as far as to get a bag of chicken jerky for Maggie as a last little treat for our girl. a few days after when I went to pick up her remains, they gave us a hand written note expressing nothing but love and care for us as well as our pet. Simply amazing care.
We will continue to seek any care we can from this location, we cant thank everyone who works here enough. They go above and beyond the call of duty and sincerely care for all the pets brought in. We cant thank you all enough!

I had to have my cat Mudd, euthanized recently. The vet and staff were very understanding, supportive, and professional. I really appreciated their assistance in making the hard decision to have him put down. The vet made sure I had all the info I needed prior to making that decision. I would recommend their services to anyone who needs care for their pet.

My dog got hurt while hiking. They took care of him. The staff was super friendly. Only took a few minutes. It was a little pricy but you pay for what you get. The main vet was a bit condescending but over all they were nice. Thanks guys.

We brought our Goldendoodle puppy in for emergency surgery on July 3rd. We were extremely happy with the facility and the staff. They were professional and caring. Happy to say two weeks later the surgery was a success and our puppy is back to her normal self. They truly saved her life. I would recommend them to anyone that needs this kind of acute care.

I would've left one star except for the fact that the doctor was VERY nice and they took care of my dog very well. The technician and one of the ladies at the front desk were NOT friendly. Totally ignored me and my grandmother when we tried to pay and leave, the nicer more kind lady at the desk had to motion for her to even look at us. I won't come back here unless it's an emergency because they're open 24 hours. A banner above the desk reads " AND EXCELLENT SERVICE IS OUR GOAL." YEAH RIGHT.

My dog lost the tip of his tail courtesy of a weighted garage door. They saw us ASAP and were very kind.

All of my concerns were addressed and we got everything prepared for my normal vet tomorrow.

All of that and the price was very reasonable for an emergency!

They were very nice and helpful Christmas Night when our kitty got his tummy sliced open. It is a bit expensive and we had to forego some services, but they still did everything possible to take care of our kitty. He is resting comfortably now and we are very grateful.

I brought my dog here this week because she has been really sore and appeared to have neck pain. The doctor performed a very thorough exam and laid out a feasible treatment plan. It's so nice to have an emergency animal hospital I can trust. Thank you all so much! Cindi is feeling much better! Would definitely recommend.

I've had to visit them a few times, unfortunately, but every experience I've had with them has been good. I haven't always been a fan of emergency veterinarians or emergency room staff, but Dr. Lenius was amazing! Normally, I come across emergency vets talking to you like you're lesser, or stupid when you ask questions and act like they don't have time to sit and explain things to you. I understand it's emergency and sometimes there is a million things going on, but I would like to know and understand what's going on with my pets, especially since you're always spending hundreds of dollars there. Dr. Lenius explained everything so we understood completely, and was very gentle and compassionate with my shepherd. Katherine, the hospital director, was also very helpful. One of the receptionists, I believe her name was Tabitha, was SUPER friendly and very polite.

Horrible. The tech checked out my cat, came back and had me signing all kinds of papers - $3200. Did nothing for my cat in the meantime. I was beside myself crying. Then the Dr. came in, was rude to me, told me he couldn't help me if I was crying too hard to answer my questions. I calmed down as best I could to answer the questions. He then told me my cat was very sick and I waited too long to bring him in, and walked out of the room. The tech came back to complete the paperwork for the payment. I called my husband who wanted to talk to the doctor and asked the tech to do something for our cat - we would sign anything, but just help him in the meantime. The doctor never came in to talk to my husband. I then went out to the front desk and told them that Dr. Brian was rude and could we please get some help for my cat. Then Dr. Brian came out to the front desk and told me I would have to leave. That he couldn't work with me. My cat was dying and they did nothing for him. I then went speeding across town to 1st Pet on Southern at Higley, At 1st Pet, the tech took my cat back into the room immediately, checked him out and said she needed to bring him back to the treatment area to get him an iv right away. My husband asked - don't you want us to sign something? She said no, we need to get your cat taken care of right away. He wound up staying the night and the next day and they saved my cat. All I can say is thank God we didn't leave him at VCA. Thank God for 1st Pet. Recently I was talking to someone about his dogs and he told me out of the blue that he had a dog that had passed away. He said he took him to an emergency clinic, paid $3500, left him at the clinic and the dog was dead the next day. So I asked if it was VCA on Country Club near Brown. And he said, how did you know? I said because of the price. He told me that after the dog passed away, VCA accused him of choking the dog. I guess they were trying to put it off on him instead of taking responsibility for the dog's death. He was blown away and of course said why would I pay $3500 if I choked my dog. This place is a nightmare. Don't go hereever.

I can't give this place a five star anymore. The vet was awesome. But when I get quoted a price of 170$ and you try to charge 280$ that's bull! I paid the 170 with 20's which would be 180$. She didn't even give me the 10$ back. Now I have to waste time disputing this. Ridiculous.
