Honestly a good place to stay for price. It's on the Red Route to Clemson and the bus still has open seats since UV is one of the first stops. The apartment we rented was in great condition. No trouble with any appliances. Maintenance always responded to our requests within 2-3 days (nothing was ever emergent, just some issues with the shower knobs/leaky faucets). I really enjoy the proximity to Ingles and Central Walmart. I lived in a flat and it was relatively quiet. Parking was never an issue. Altogether I felt very safe at UV as well.
Staff is very nice and helpful. Pretty affordable if you plan on living with roommates. Maintenance tends to be a little slow, but it’s understandable with the place being so big.
UV Clemson staff has always been super sweet and helpful. They are always go above and beyond to help me out!
The staff is amazing! Everyone is so welcoming and knowledgeable. UV Clemson is a great place to live!
All the bad reviews tell everything you need to know about this place. I urge anyone living here to photo document the condition of the apartment at the time you move in as well as the time you move out. Also, document any repair requests during the stay. They will charge you damages when you move out, will document with terrible photos, and will not speak to you about the charges. Then, they will threaten collections. It is a borderline scam. I contacted CU and told them about the issues. They, of course, do not have any control over off campus housing, but they do have a person (liaison) that deals with off campus housing. I think every student that has had a documented issue should contact the Dean of Student affairs office and voice your concerns. I tried my hardest to work with UV about these charges, but they are impossible to deal with.
I would honestly give this complex zero stars if I could. I've been living here for the past year and a half, and I've gotten into arguments with management on numerous occasions. This includes maintenance entering the unit without permission and leaving the door unlocked, and on one occasion OPEN, flyers being left in our apartment without our permission, locks being changed without notifying myself or my roommates, 'noise violations' that weren't ever proven to be accurate and various repairs that are never dealt with in a timely manner. When one roommate of mine decided to sublease, the leasing office gave the new tenant a key without ever notifying any of the current residents that someone new would be in the apartment-- We walked into our living room one day to find an absolute stranger in our home. Also, management is scatterbrained-- I got a notice that I was violating my lease with an 'illegal pet' in my unit over the summer when I had not stepped foot in my apartment in over a month. Any time I have attempted to get straight answers from management, I'm given little to no information. When requesting documentation or asking about protocol, answers vary and change between employees.
Overall, I've been extremely dissatisfied with my experience living here, and if there was a way to get out of my lease at this point in time (Which I can't do, even if I die), I 100% would. DO NOT LIVE HERE.
Sign up for moving it has been the absolute worst experience I have ever had. First they secretly tried to move me out from living with the rest of my roommates I was set to live with and had to call around 5 times to get it set to let me live with the people I signed up with Then they decided not to email me for 5 Months which included emails about early move in, an option that I needed to get. I am now 'not able' to do early move in only because they never sent me an email and It is past the deadline. The absolute worst experience ever and most useless staff. Live anywhere else.
If you have decent roommates, this place could easily get three or four stars. But due to having problematic roommates and UV not caring enough to do anything about them when you contact them with concerns, I do not recommend living here. I've made a few complaints but none of them have been resolved. Maintenance also always has an attitude when they have to fix something and will barge in with little notice. Yes, the rent is cheap and affordable, but that doesn't compensate for the lack of concern and respect that they give you in return.
DO NOT LIVE HERE. If I could have afforded to live anywhere else, I would have. I lived here for 4 years and the office staff is horrible as well as the apartments. They do not clean before you move in (there was pee on my toilet seat and mold in my windows, dirty floors, etc.) I've asked them to fix the windows every year and all they do is clean the mold but never actually fixed the windows. The Maintenace has gotten somewhat better this last year but the prices keep going up and it's not worth it. The ONLY reason I gave 2 stars is because I really like having my own bedroom and bathroom and a decent size closet and the amenities (2 pools, gym, and tanning bed) are nice.
Don't pay any attention to those other reviewers. This place is fine for the price you pay (as long as it doesn't go up too much more, because then that's questionable). Signing the lease a year ahead of time gives a really nice rent discount. Now, they have dedicated fiber optic internet up to 1Gbps which is the best compared to the other places where its hard to get a signal. Lived in both a 4BR townhome and 4BR flat and both were fine for college apartments. There may be marks on the walls or old carpet, but otherwise you're golden.
Pretty good. I have a great living experience.
The position of our apartment is nice and I have friendly roommates.
Just a little bit expensive compared with other house.
