We were a group of about 60, staying in cabins & lodges. Everything is super clean and very comfortable. The campground staff is VERY friendly and accommodating. I've been to many state prks around the south and this was perfect for our group. Since we were there in winter, we didnt take adantage of all the activities but it looks amazing.

Fun and interesting golf course. Beautiful scenery. Have played here several times and always see wildlife. Last visit crows stole crackers from our carts while we putted. Laughed our heads off!

Greens were a little slow last time. Course is maintained to a nice level. Staff pleasant. Price to play golf fair: not cheap but not high.
Very fun layout with a couple enjoyable quirky holes. No doubt will play again!

There is a lot to do at Hickory Knob. I am reviewing it as a tent camper though, and if you are camping here in a tent there aren't great options and there are better state parks across the border in GA. If you are here for golfing/lodging/etc I cannot speak to that.

I did eat at the restaurant however, and it does have a good buffet available for families. They also have good meeting facilities, as I was there once for a church leadership conference.

Beautiful park. My group went to play golf. We have been there many times. V
Well designed course at reasonable prices. Group stayed in the barracks which has recently been remodeled. Quite acceptable. Great location with many scenic attractions near by. A visit there will be enjoyed!

Campground road needs grading, very narrow with many ruts. If you have a trailer bring cinder blocks as the sites are far from level. Along the roadside there are deep ravines; so, keep a close eye on small kids.
The hosts were friendly and helpful. The bathhouse was very clean Shower stalls had no shelf to put soap, etc.; and, there is no privacy. There were two bathhouses; but, one had showers that were not working.

The tennis courts were horrible, large cracks and asphalt patchwork.

At the lodge restaurant we had burger and fries and the soup-and-salad bar. Both were very good.

The mosquitoes and biting flies were intolerable. Seems like they would spray.

We were surprised the "resort" did not have a beach area for swimming. One can access the lake from the campground; but, the access is either rocky or mushy clay.

Loved the golf course. Great condition (greens a bit slow) and challenging. Very good bargain.

Closest Walmart was 20+ miles. Only shopping is a Food Lion 10+ miles.

Fantastic hospitality with a very gracious and accommodating staff who provided a beautiful place to hunker down from the wrath of Hurricane Irma. Thank you all so much! We had so much unexpected fun during a very stressful time not knowing what was happening at home. My family and I can't wait to returnfor a real vacation. Thank you again Hickory Knob!!

i have called this place home for three years. I have work all over the place there and loved every moment. I really loved working for the golf course I had awesome coworkers who truly care about the turf. One man in particular stood out to me his name is Kim fox this man has showed me so much in the short time I got to work with him until I moved to another city long ways away. He made a huge impact on how I look at a course he has made me realize how difficult it is to maintain a course the correct way. I really wish I wouldn't have left but I had to. He is truly the best boss I've ever had thank you so much for everything Kim I'll never be able to repay you.

We came here for the mountain bike trails. Lakeside Loop would have rated very good, except the downed trees on the trail had us off the bike an estimated 20 times. A few we could move off the trails with the two of us, but most need someone with a chain saw. Needs maintenance; unfortunately in a state of neglect.

Peaceful when I go in the fall. The cabins are very nice, the rooms are nice. Lots of deer. Well maintained. Lodge Great Hall is great in the fall; fireplace, billiards, good chairs for reading. The lake is about 13 feet low this year. Didn't try the skeet or golf.
