My parents gave me a gift certificate for $250 to this lodge. As with many people, 2017 was very hectic and in the commotion, I lost track of the certificate. Days ago when I found it, I was surprised to see an expiration date of only one year from the date of issue. These days, you often see cards "never expire" - or if anything, only the promotional value expires. I contacted the business and was greeted with a very stern and cold response: "Our gift certificates expire one year from the date of issue. At that time, the entire value expires. This policy is clear, and we will not help you."

The Federal Trade Commission enacted regulation in 2010 which states the following: "Money on a gift card cannot expire for at least five years from the date the card was purchased, or from the last date any additional money was loaded onto the card. If the expiration date listed on the card is earlier than these dates, the money can be transferred to a replacement card at no cost."

Not only is this business being a bad neighbor, they're not compliant with laws regulating gift certificates. I have filed a complaint with the FTC, Georgia Attorney General's office, and the Better Business Bureau. If you choose to do business with this organization, do not expect them to treat you like most friendly local businesses would. They do not care about you as a customer, and they do not care about doing the right thing. Even if this matter is resolved by extending the validity of the gift certificate the minimum five years required by law, I will be very reluctant to do business with them. I encourage customers to look at the many other wonderful North Georgia campgrounds and not patronize this business.

The worst time my family and I have ever had had camping. The management stuck us in the middle of a Heritage Girls retreat instead of offering us another site away from them. This group is some of the rudest individuals we have ever came across. The sites are not worth the amount of money they charge for them. Especially for claiming to be non-profit. The government may want to check into that because I’m pretty sure it is only to get the tax breaks. You can only buy their campfire wood which is just a bundle of 2x4s. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE IF YOU WANT REST AND RELAXATION. IF I COULD GIVE IT ZERO STARS I WOULD.

Our family has visited several times in summer and fall and love this placeit's nice for campers who like to have amenities and activities close by. There really is something for everyone and the stream is so relaxing. We enjoyed the farm tour and the kids loved the baby bunnies! Bonfire on Saturdays is good for meeting other campers too :) always enjoy our stay here.

Not a bad place to stop by. They had some nice hiking trails a short distance to waterfalls, great for younger kids to hike to something neat. My boys enjoyed playing in the stream beside site 1. The grounds and restrooms were mostly in good shape. The sites are a little tight and close to one another, but there wasn't a large crowd while we were there so no issues. Most of camping is what you make of it, and our family enjoyed it. I thought the place could use a little updating or maintenance, but the folks were nice and there was plenty to do at the campground, at nearby Brasstown Bald, or the town of Helen. If you are going just to for the trout pond or cabins, you may want to have a back up plan.

The property is very pretty with nice streams that the kids loved. It also has a nice playground for the kids. i enjoyed myself because It was peaceful and quiet since there were only a few sites being used while we were there but I can't imagine going when it's full. The sites are super close together and some of the fire rings are placed only a few yards away from the neighboring ring or placed so close to bushes or other obstacles that there is no way to fit more than a few people around them. Thankfully there was no one using the sites on either side of our party so we used a ring on an empty site so that we could all sit around the fire together. I did not go in the cabins or the motel but one look from the outside was enough to know I wouldn't step foot in them. If you stay on the pop up sites beware that sites i-k are directly in front of the dumpster and it smelled like a dead animal was in there. Every time the wind moved the smell was overwhelming. We stayed in g so could only smell it when passing by to get to the play ground. Also, this is the first place we have camped that charges additional fees for everything. They charge for more than 1 car, more than 4 people and for pets. I paid online for my pet and it said $5 total but when we got there she said it would be $5 per night. I wouldn't have minded if the base price had been lower but the base price was higher than any other other campground that we've stayed at.

I really enjoyed this place when we went a few years back I can't wait to go back! The scenery is so pretty, the walking trail to the waterfall, the little farm I got to milk a cow, bottle feed a baby bull, and enjoy peace! Defiantly will be returning with my son!!!

We stayed for 4 days, and I can certainly say that 4 days is certainly not long enough! I was captivated by this place from the moment we arrived. I had made campsite reservations about 3 months in advance and the anticipation was well worth it! We were greeted by Deb up front. She was so kind and informative. In fact, all the staff we met were so incredibly loving and kind!
We set up our home away from home at campsite #59 (we had a waterfall in our backyard!)
Our first adventure was a short (and beautiful walk) over to the farm where Wallace gave us a tour and let us meet all the animals (cows, goats, mini horses, chickens, bunnies, and a friendly little pig named Henry!)
We then walked the trails to the waterfalls they have on the propertyand it was AMAZING!
I honestly could go on forever, but there is simply too much to tell!
This is a magical retreat tucked away on absolutely gorgeous mountain land, where the Cherokee spirit is present and abundant!

What I can leave you with is this; If/when you visit Enota, you wont want to leave. (Ask the AT hikers who stopped in!)
So in the end, I am obsessed! We left yesterday, and I am already planning another trip.

Enota found its way into my heart, where it will stay, always.

Loved it! We stayed in the Cherokee cabin and we're 4 adults and 3 kids. The place was clean, well equipped and the kids loved playing with the bunnies, goats and pigs in he animal peeting farm (especially Henry!). We all hiked up to the waterfall and thought it was beautiful place for having lunch while dipping our feet in the water. One our cars had a battery malfunction and the volunteer (unfortunately I can't remember his name) was really nice and helpful in starting our car. Thank you for a great stay!
