Gone a bit mainstream lately, but the food and service are still as solid as ever. It's relatively expensive, but roughly on par for the immediate area. Dessert is forgettable, but this isn't a dessert restaurant. Beer is Japanese so don't expect hops. Sake list is vast, but servers will be equipped with recommendations. Wine list is fairly robust as well. Beware they validate for Valet parking only, but you'll likely come out ahead even after the guilt tip, because the parking deck's self parking rates are unreasonable.

Absolutely the best Sushi restaurant my wife and I have ever been to. Trendy, great diverse crowd, food could not be any better, our service was very professional and experienced, very clean, drinks awesome and just a fun night. We celebrated our sons 30th birthday and he is an expert in sushi. He agreed, this was the best. The atmosphere is perfect, noise level perfect. Thank you!!

Hands down the best Japanese I have ever had. We had a party of 5 and just asked the waitress to bring us whatever the chef wanted. They asked us what our preferences were and then brought out some of the most amazing, fresh food I've ever had. They kept the food coming and would always check to see what we wanted more and would gage what worked best. Every dish was somehow better than the last and the service was amazing. Would recommend doing this if you're looking for an exciting dinner.

They wanted me to sign a contract for a reservation with 6 people. The contract required a minimum total of $65pp. If you want to hold a cc for my reservation that's fine. However, I'm not going to sign contract for me and my husband to eat dinner with 2 other couples. The sushi is already overpriced, but it's good. It's more of a scene type place anyway. Now you want to give me a contract? Nope. Not happening.

This is the best restaurant in the whole entire world. The rock shrimp is the best dish on earth. If I could rate it a hundred stars I would!!!

Great restaurant. We really enjoyed the omakase. Surprised by the number and size of the courses for the price. Would definitely go back. NOTE: Dress is on the nicer side. One of our party had to turn around and change because of his very casual attire.

Fantastic food and service. Well worth the price! The only reason for removing 1 star is because of the amount of time we had to wait despite having a reservation.

Service was impeccable. Food was even better!!! Only qualm about this place was that they don't allow carry out boxes so I felt like I had to stuff myself and not waste any food. The avocado salad is heavenly. The white fish tempura roll will change your life 😍

Loved this place so much that we ate there twice during a recent four day visit. We were with our six month old and they were so accommodating with us. Checked in stroller, moved our reservation to bar area as it was more conducive with the baby carrier. Was very impressed for a trendy busy place to show such consideration. Now the food, it was delightful. We got the sashimi platter and some rolls the first night, incredible. The second night we had the chef make us whatever he wanted and did all the special rolls. Creative food, fresh ingredients, great service and romantic ambience. If you're a sushi lover, this place is a must try. Thanks for making our dinners relaxing and delicious. Btw we had hector wait on us both nights, was great.

Great atmosphere and amazing food! Service was top notch. Only slight draw back was we had reservations at 7. We were told to go to the bar as the tables open up. We saw other people being seated so we went to the hostess 30 minutes later. We were seated immediately.

I was initially curious if I had lost my way, as Umi is tucked away behind a plaza of restaurants and residences. The large front door is barely marked, but the style added a sense of mystery, so keep your eyes peeled.

Once inside, the hostess honored my reservation (a slight wait still, but expected on a weekend eve), but offered a seat at the bar while waiting. Very friendly and genuine.

Once seated, the server arrived quickly. The room was a bit loud and lowly-lit, but sleek in design and filled with patrons who clearly loved dressing well.

Sushi was very fresh. Salads crisp. Aesthetically beautiful. The prices seemed much lower than I expected, considering the ambiance and high qualilty of the food.

Perhaps I am a bit tainted from living in Miamiwhere food and service (good or bad) are almost always served alongside shallow, empty patronsmore often than not.

Umi was a refreshing evening. An ego-free spot with delicious and creative sushi, plus an upscale crowd that was friendly and fun.

Now this is what I call a sushi restaurant! The restaurant decor is trendy and upscale and what one would expect from a small, yet swanky eatery in the heart of this ever growing, international city we proudly call, Atlanta. It's a fresh stylish and professional crowd after work the bar area can easily be overly crowded. I'd recommend reservations. Great food and great service.

This place has become our favorite. Delicious and fresh, the menu is simple and great. We got miss, tofu, a few rolls and the sea bass and some usual desserts; everything was great.
    The sea bass is exceptional.
The service has been good. Although if you come at a busy time, you should expect there to be a wait and for the service to suffer, never the food though.
The atmosphere is cool, dark, and a little pretentious.
    Overall, we love this place.
