An Atlanta landmark. Good atmosphere, quality food, and solid margaritas. Location is excellent, near bars, restaurants, and shopping.

i absolutely love this place. top 5 favorite restaurants by far. but there was this very rude man at the register the last time i went and i told him my friend and i’s checks were separate. he said “you think i don’t know that? you think this job is hard? why don’t you come back here and do this.” Very rude.

This is a sad day, people. I've been a patron of Taqueria for well over 15 years. I've recommended this place to hundreds of people. I have friends from out of state asking to be taken there whenever they visit. Not anymore. Over the last 3 or 4 years I have seen a huge decline in the quality of the food. (yes, it took this long to give up my fav lunch stop) My family and I have adored this place and often called it our hang out, but not any more. All of us have had similar encounters with overly spicy food. Cold food. Hard inedible fried fish pieces. Chowder so thick it was like batter one day and so thin it was like water the next visit. All of a sudden the guacamole, sauces and chowder so spicy it's inedible. I've never complained or asked for a newly made taco in past years. In the span of one year, I've sent back nasty, cold, thin overly crispy fish jerky several times and had to ask where the sauce was in the tacos.
Without knowing about each others disappointing visits, we found that all of us had inquired as to the unexpected spicy trend going on and lack of attention to sauces and ingredients. Yesterday was my final visit. My lunch was a total bust! My family called it quits months ago. Someone needs to seriously step up and oversee the kitchen staff and get them back on track! Howell Mill location.

You can't come to Midtown/Westside Atlanta without experiencing this food. Start with the best cheese dip & chips you''ll have in a while. Try the Fried Chicken Taco or Brisket Taco. You'll be really glad that you tried it.

The food here is amazing! The only downside is the amount of time you have to wait for a table. The tables are cramped but you hardly notice because the food is so awesome!

There's always a long line for their scrumptious tacos. If you're there at 11, you'll not have to wait too long and seats are available. Once it hits noon, the lines are long. The food is fantastic.

Solid Atlanta staple for tacos. All their locations have a line out the door, which says a lot. Delicious, reasonably priced, good quality, and fast. Love the Memphis taco, beef enchilada with red sauce, corn chowder.

Taqueria Del Sol has been on my "Places to Try" list for a few years now. Taco Tuesday seemed like a perfect excuse to give it a whirl. The guacamole and brisket were phenomenal and I can't say enough about the shrimp and corn chowder, except buy a cup or two. I was pleasantly surprised by the sweet creaminess of the corn and how it melded with the plump fresh shrimp. The tequila BBQ sauce of the carnitas taco was also divine. And if you're a margarita fan, the house margarita is a delight.

The Memphis Taco, Chicken taco, Brisket taco, and guacamole are pretty much the only things worth getting here. However, the tacos are not worth standing in the ever-present line. The restaurant operates similar to a food truck, except they have the space to avoid being so inefficient. The fish taco is just tortilla, tartar sauce, and fish. The fish is fresh, and there is a lot of potential, but they fail to pull off a good taco. Add some delicious slaw or something. The beans tasted like cumin. I do not think I have ever been served inedible beans, well until now. Perhaps the cap fell off, and the entire bottle of cumin dumped in, and someone thought the beans could be salvaged. I mean, surely the flavor profile was a mistake The rice was over cooked. All of the grains split, and it was flavorless. TL;DR this is a Westside Provisions hipster joint. I would not recommend eating here.

Amazing tacos!!! The wait is done outside, and it's typically crowded because it's so damn yummy. One of my favorite spots to grab an after work drink and good bite. The only thing I would say I didn't like was you have to get back in line to get a to-go order or another picture of margaritas. Highly recommend anyone to grab either the fish or chicken tacos when you visit.

The best thing about Taqueria Del Sol it's unique tasting beans and overall high quality of food it serves. The atmosphere is great too for a friendly casual lunch or evening dinner. Slightly on the expensive side, and very limited selection of food for vegetarians.

I wish I was able to give this place 10 stars. I've been visiting here for a few years now. And every experience is just like the last. Amazong food that is fairly priced. The staff is great. The lines are almost always long. But that, to me, means this place is worth the wait. And it is! Just be patient everyone, good things come to those who wait.
