Best place to stay, any time of year. Visited in December, staff and rooms were great like always. Rooms are very clean, maid service was great as well. Recommend this place to everybody. If your going to the best beach, stay at the best place!!!

This is my first google review. At the tides motel, be ready to be told by todd to go to your room at 8:45 pm. There is a beautiful view from our room but the staff is horrible. Our room maid actually asked me if she should make our room. I will never stay here again. Best of luck to future visitors.

Beautiful scenery at this ocean front hotel. Hotel is going through renovations. Room was clean and bright with an ocean themed decor. Only complaint was that there was no hot water for showering during peak morning hours.

I would give this restaurant zero stars if I could. We came for a girl's lunch and we sat inside where it was quieter than the party scene going on outside.

The server was terrible, she was never around and gave us attitude the entire time. They gave us our drinks in plastic cups. The chips and salsa we're lower quality than a taco Bell. So we took off and went somewhere much better - Jack of Cups.

Great location, awesome guys in the parking lot directing traffic, friendly staff. So why the 2 stars? If I pay $350 a night, I expect my room to have been updated since 1980. The rooms were clean, just old and not impressive in anyway. The shower was the worst ever. I have stayed at Howard Johnsons with a better interior than this place. Come on Tides owner, come off the hip and reinvest! Honestly will probably not go back.

Perfect location on the beach and right by the pier. Jet ski rentals on property. All rooms have ocean view. 9 stories, so some very good views of the main strip of folly Rd and the beach. Staff is always very friendly.

Location is perfect. A short walk to a number of great restaurants and cafes and surf/tourist shops. Minutes from great dolphin tours and kayaking. Less than half an hour from the French quarter and greater Charleston. Comfortable beds.

The balconies aren't large enough to fit a chair, really only standing room. The hotel's chairs and umbrellas on the beach have to be rented for use, even by hotel guest. That's where they lost a star for me

Overall, I would stay here again, chair rents or not. Great time and great people

The hotel was pretty clean for the most part. They keep the lobby area nice and service was great along with the view from the room. Where it falls a little short is in the rooms. The two rooms we went into had a musty smell to them and the doors to the room were hard to shut as well as the bathroom doors. The smell might just be because of the ocean so that part might be unavoidable. The pool area was kept clean as well as the beach area so that part was nice. If I could take the rooms out of the equation this would be a great place.

We stopped in Folly Beach, unexpectedly. We had no reservations anywhere but this hotel was able to accommodate us. Decent price for peak season, clean rooms, and nice staff. House keeping stopped by to make sure we had everything we needed on our second day. Roast downstairs was a nice treat when we desperately missed Starbucks! Pool was always cleaned nightly and the music by the pool was a nice touch as well. If you're looking for something similar to Myrtle Beach or any popular Beach this is the way to go.

I had a fantastic time at this beach. Much cleaner than Myrtle Beach. They have lifeguards. A nice pier. And a bar on the pier! Parking was a beast, but I planned to pay any way. It was close to the beach and cost $20.

This place is classic folly. We stayed for a week one time while our home was being renovated, been to the new years party, and our HOA meetings are held here. The staff is super friendly and the rooms are quaint with a view. The employees behind the desk offered to hold my surfboard behind the counter for me so I didn't have to keep lugging it up to my room.

Nice and relaxing visit to the pier where we tried to go fishing. It was really windy and the waves were choppy. We chose a bad day to go! Other than that, it was a nice view and the surfers were entertaining to watch. I always visit this beach when I'm in town! Definitely recommend.

Very friendly staff. Very helpful. Floors were cleaned before we entered our room but we're still sticky. Water smelled and tasted funny (probably because we were from our of town). Breakfast was decent. Lots of options. Orange juice was very "thin" and tasted like ice melted in them before they brought it out to us. I'd stay again. Good view. Good staff. Good experience all in all!

Nice but older hotel right on the beach. Rooms are decent, not newly updated but not super old either. Restaurant serves inside and outside on ocean front, breakfast was good, didn't try lunch or dinner. Heated outdoor pool was great and covered lounging areas at the pool are great to take a break from the sun. Lot's of restaurants and bars that are very close by. The hotel is right in the middle of everything, Pier is right next to the property. Fun place, we will visit again.

We had an amazing stay here Pet friendly, clean, convenient and views to die for!! What a great location!!! We booked a room on the top floor and our pet cat enjoyed the views and the birds too! Also the bar and restaurant in this hotel is great too! Good food and drinks and again, killer views!
